Bump...per OP on use of SSL or SSH for IOS to bypass the Great Firewall. Anyone else having any luck. In China with domestic censorship and outide economic espionage)
1. Can SSL and/or SSH be used on non jail broken and/or jail broken IOS device (I'm on 10.1.1.)? They are greyed outl I believe.
2. If not, can we assume that standard protocol using alternate access ports with Socks perhaps be most secure?
Sorry not to hijack the OP, but for those looking for some help with this issue some advice. Per AirVPNs response to earlier support requests on this issue, a VPN is but one tool. If you are employed by company of any size in target industry, it is not a matter of if, but when, you will be spearphished. And yes they can hack your smart TV.
While a VPN can help--particularly once they start nailing your static IPs--it is common for them to clone or alter any of the VPN providers apps and redirect it back through them or to them once they get through to local host. You *think* it's working great though!
So....for those who fritter over NSA spying, google: "Washington Post China Database U.S." or "Wellpoint China Hacking." Or check out the sources for info that has been vetted such as Mandiant, SANS, etc.
