What does AirVPN has to do with Amazon?

Recommended Posts

Hello and good evening everybody!

I've a question reffering to the connections made by AirVPN-Client during it's startup:

While monitoring the packets which were sent during the start-process of the AirVPN-Client (only run it, without being logged in), I found some connections I cannot explain to myself so far.

Tracking the suspicious IP's led me to the result, that AirVPN-Client is communicating with Amazon-Servers while starting...
It's happening on Windows as well as on Linux with a fully installed AirVPN-Client as well as with the portable Client.

I have no explanation for that one so far - maybe somebody can explain it to me? (look screenshot)

Thanks for answers!

regards,
me

Some of the bootstrap servers to get all the entry IPs are hosted with Amazon. Everything is normal.

Okay makes sense, thanks for your answer!
