Disconnecting while using network lock doesn't interrupt internet connection?

Usually I disconnect from AirVPN once per day and it quickly reconnects automatically within a minute. I have network lock activated but if for example I'm watching a youtube video while it disconnects or visit a IP finding site it shows my real IP during that 1 minute of downtime that AirVPN is reconnecting automatically. Basically I don't understand how there is no leak if I can manually go to a website while AirVPN is reconnecting and see my real IP. If I was downloading a file it would also reveal that information during that reconnecting time.

It may be so that your network lock isn't configured properly, since the way the network lock works is you can ONLY connect to AirVPN servers so in the case of the VPN dropping you wouldn't be able to reach any sites which means something isn't set properly which is hard without logs and at least a screenshot or explaination in detail of your windows firewall settings.
