Cannot see website geo restriction even on VPN

I am in UK physically and when I try connecting VPN via France and Netherlands I still get this attached message.

 

I connect through SSL. Can anyone access this story from the UK using a server?

 

Why won't the website see me as not in the UK?

I managed to access it once through one of the Miami servers, but when I refreshed the page I got the same message you had.

 

If you try to go to www.bbc.com you get redirected to www.bbc.co.uk.

 

It's a bit of a cheek as without the UK licence payers there wouldn't even be a bbc.com.

I have the opposite of this problem, I am on a UK server but the BBC keep redirecting me to the international site!!!
