Dutch server but Iplayer still streams??

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am currently testing AirVPN and I have to say I am very impressed. However I have used a German server yesterday and today Ophiuchi from Holland and I am still able to stream iPlayer live?.

I have checked each server with DNSleakage and IPlocation and all confirm the servers are working great and as advertised but I am a little confused....

Should Iplayer not detect I am using a European IP and so barr me from viewing iPlayer??

BTW I am in the UK so are they somehow able to tell via cookies perhaps?.

NooB question I know but need an answer.

Thanks

Do you mean the BBC iPlayer? Connections from all servers to BBC will be routed through a GB server internally to make sure you don't need to connect to a GB server on your own to view BBC.

Same thing with Netflix. And hulu. And "a few" other sites.

Yes I meant BBC iPlayer.

That's good to hear as I am in the UK myself and I thought my IP may have been somehow detected hence why I was still able to view live BBC iPlayer.
