  1. Hello, i need some help making a config for my Qnap. I want to connect my qnap to AirVPN servers. I have TS-673 and i couldn't find any guide on how to make a proper config. According to qnap's website: https://www.qnap.com/en/how-to/tutorial/article/how-to-set-up-and-use-qvpn-2-0/ I should make an OpenVPN configuration file and load it so it can be added to client. I have attempted to make it a few times but it seems that something isn't correct. Because every time it "loaded" it would just refresh and not show anything. Can someone please explain me what is the correct config for QVPN. Thanks in advance
  2. ok, I've tried... but even after reading the support materials and forum posts here I'm still not able to get torrents to work. Download speeds, when I'm able to get a packet or two through, are in the single- to double-digit Kb/s. Where I'm at: QNAP NAS running current firmware and QVPN client, with an OpenVPN connection profile generated via the AirVPN client area, using one of the ports in the TLS range. Port forwarded through that same client area, with a successful TCP Test, NO port forwarding on my Asus RT-AC68U router. Using Transmission as my torrent client, listening on the forwarded port, which indicated the listed port is 'open'. Port forwarding and uTP are disabled in Transmission, encryption is set to 'allow' (vs. 'prefer' or 'require', the only two other options). When I visit ipleak.net and use the magnet link for torrent address detection, Transmission shows that the 'Tracker returned a warning', but lists the AirVPN IP address I'm connected to on the NAS. The same address, as well as the correct forwarded port, show up in the ipleak.net Torrent Address Detection results. I don't know what the expected behavior is of that test torrent, and if it's supposed to actually download a test file. In my case, it's stuck on 'retrieving metadata'. What am I missing? Why am I not able to download torrent files, while I'm not having any issues with NZB downloads? Is it possible that my ISP is doing some sort of detection and throttling torrent downloads, despite this setup?
  3. Hi folks... I'm currently using QNAP 4.2.5 and using the stock VPN Client (and updating various files in QNAP system - can't remember how I did this all now hence this post). Now that AirVPN provides IPv6 support I want to update my cerificate/config (perhaps I don't need to and this is taken care of by the AirVPN servers?) So, if I DO need to update my connection, can anyone advise how to do this on QNAP 4.3.x which I believe introduces a new VPN client (QVPN Service?). And if it actually works? I've been reluctant to upgrade the QNAP version as previously had to roll back as couldn't get the AirVPN working. ***edit* oh and also which process to use to generate the VPN certificate/files from AirVPN too... sorry... Hope someone can point me in the right direction... Thanks in advance!
  4. Hey, the day before yesterday, I installed QVPN on my QNAP 253a. There, I used a OpenVPN file form AirVPN. Without VPN, I get spends of about 35 MB/s. With VPN, I get a maximum of 2 MB/s. The CPU should be fast enough for it and while connected with OpenVPN I do not get high CPU usage. I tired it with UPC and TCP but it won't get faster. Do you have any idea what could fix it? Thanks for your help! Regards, Hannes
  5. Hello, I followed the instructions provided here https://airvpn.org/topic/17618-qnap-version-421-broke-my-airvpn-client-connection-heres-how-i-fixed-it/ I established the VPN client connection using UDP, but no traffic from "donwload station" or "transmission" is routed through the tunnel. The Client area in airvpn shows my connection, but after download files, the session statistics shows very, very, little traffic. My default gateway is enabled on this connection, so normaly all the traffic should be routed. Any suggestions? Thx, Ludo Running QNAP 4.2.1 on TS-251. 6. Hello, can someone help me to set up AirVPN on a QNAP-NAS with firmware 4.2.1 please. Or just point me to a post which explains that. Thanks you so much! Jörg
  7. Hi folks, I have a QNAP NAS and am connected to AirVPN on the QNAP itself (NOT using Eddie or Router config) using "kradsith" guide here (AirVPN instructions at bottom of page 2); http://forum.qnap.com/viewtopic.php?f=231&t=102248&hilit=vpn+client&start=15 All good! Connected fine and getting good speeds etc. I have also set up two Port Forwards; 1 for plex (working fine - green TCP Test) and one for the QTS Admin console which by default uses port 8080. However the port forwarding for this port shows as yellow. I have removed the port forwarding to this port in my router but unsure why this shows as yellow. The port forwarding works fine i.e. I can use my own DDNS name with the AirVPN generated port and see my console but concerned that I have a leak as it currently is. I guess I could try amending the console port from 8080 from within QNAP QTS Console and try fort forwarding again but reluctant to do that until I know why the TCP test shows as yellow. Some other information which may be pertinent is I have port forwarding in my router for Sickrage, NZBGet, Couchpotato, Headphones, Transmission, (I'm not actually sure if I need ANY of these to be accessible from the internet as suspect they working fine together on the LAN as they are all hosted on my NAS/QNAP). Could anyone provide me with any pointers, ideas, solutions? Thanks in advance!
  8. Hello, been using AirVPN for a few years now mostly using the Windows/Android Clients but have also configured a DD-WRT router in the past. Been waiting for a while for QNAP to add OpenVPN client support and they have just included it in the latest beta update (they have had OpenVPN Server support for a while). Need a bit of guidance with the config. as my initial attempts have failed. When you add a new connection on the QNAP the following dialogue needs populating. I tried to setup for UK Nunki as a test: Profile Name: AirVPN UK Server Address: 78.129.153.40 Server Port: UDP 443 (default on QNAP is UDP 1194) Username: my username Password: my password Encryption: left at default of Medium (AES 128) other options are none or AES 256 Certificate: Assume it is the ca.crt (not user.crt ??) And tick boxes (all below left as default) PS. I actually only use a EE 4G router, but don't have issue connecting to AirVPN via the Windows/Android clients over this network (only mention as I've read EE don't assign public facing IP) Enable compressed VPN link - Not ticked Use default gateway on remote network - Ticked Allow other network devices to connect to Internet through NAS - Not ticked Reconnect when VPN connection lost - Ticked Appreciate any help.
