Hello everyone, I just made an account for AirVPN and firstly installed it on my laptop (Win 11), where it immediately worked without any issue. I then proceeded to install it to my PC (Win 10) but it won't connect to any server. Both times i downloaded the Eddie client for Windows 10/11, 64bit, Installer with GUI from the website. I already checked the VPN settings and they're the exact same, so it probably has something to do with the Windows settings, but i have no clue as to what exactly it could be. As stated in the title my PC is directly connected to my Router via cable while I use my Laptop via WLAN. Googling the issue has brought me to threads where people have a similar problem to mine but none of the solutions have worked for me thus far. I have a python script running on a android phone which needs to be behind a VPN connection. I can connect via ssh to the phone but over the public VPN address which is very slow. I would like to connect directly over the local network. The problem is that the current Eddie app don't support wlan connections (System->Exclude local networks from the VPN, exclude local networks except mobile networks... which I suspect to be all wlan networks). Is there a way to allow local IP/Port addresses somewhere else? Perhaps with Custom Directives? Edit1: Eddi version 2.5 (VC27) Edit2: mobile networks are not WLAN connections (misunderstanding on my part), theoretically WLAN should work on a mobile phone if connecting to local ip address. It is not working in my case with AirVPN on, only if AirVPN is turned off on the mobile.

When I run the eddie client on my laptop with ubuntu 16.04, and network lock activated and allow LAN/private ticked in preferences (see attached), some services will connect, e.g. emby and others will not, e.g. KDEconnect. When eddie is not running I can connect. I saw that on this thread https://airvpn.org/topic/29634-wonky-lan-access/ someone was maybe having a similar with MAC and wondered if there was a workaround for ubuntu/linux? I am not very technical and only understand about 5% of what I'm reading on these forums so need it simple, apologies if asking for the impossible!!

After the Eddie 2.13.6 to 2.16.3 update on an iMac (Retina 4K, 21.5-inch, Late 2015) with macOS 10.13.6, there is no more: AFP to computer names, just ip-addresses (likewise as for incoming connections)Screen Sharing to computer names, just ip-addresses (likewise as for incoming connections)AirPlay to an AirPort Express, its AirPort Utility connection invariably fails as well (unlike iOS devices with OpenVPN Connect 3.0.1, an AppleTV4 or 'Eddie-less' macOS computers)Also, its iTunes needs to relaunch for the AppleTV4 to reconnect after sleep every time. To remedy this most annoying hiccup a forums poster once suggested, if memory serves, to enter some 'Bonjour multicast address' (?) or other into Addresses Allowed of Network Lock Preferences. And rightly so!At the moment though, that field is blank, whereas it wasn't prior to the current version, but the post in question seems untraceable. Can anyone confirm the workaround still holds and point to the info required? If not, what is the proper way to deal with said wonkiness (bar disabling the network lock)? cheers,

Is there a way to block Local network connections? I'm thinking of scenarios like this. Router or portal or Firewall or ISP sets up it's own DNS MITM like over the Router IP like 192.168.0.100:53 So, in the cases AirVPN allows this IP even in network Lock and DNS leaks occurs. Or may be a HTTP SSH proxy attacks etc on the LAN computers which are not using AirVPN. So, to avoid scenarois like this and others, is there a way for people to block LAN connections?

Hi there, I am totally new to vpn and I just curious about how that all works and how to do it right, and now I am quite confused about thousand different setup methods. I have a plain linux box which runs a service Y on a specific port that shall go throught airvpn. So far I only read that once openvpn is started all traffic goes through the vpn. If I simply start the vpn as descibed here https://airvpn.org/topic/11431-using-airvpn-with-linux-from-terminal/ on the box does this mean that everyone on the other side of the vpn can portscan/connect to services that are running on that box? If I manage that box from another client in my LAN via a vncserver that is installed on that box, can I still reach the box after starting openvpn and can anyone on the other vpn side connect to the vncserver? So my question is what is the easyest way to route only service Y to the vpn and make incomming (from the vpn) request route only to service Y's port?

Hello, I am having trouble setting up a Minecraft game server using AirVPN. I have used AirVPN's port forwarding service and successfully forwarded and opened up a port of my choice and selected the games local port of 25565. I checked this using canyouseeme.org to test this was the case, it was up. I booted up the server and found that i couldn't connected via the port / public exit IP and it just lead to a weird timing out on the ping and leading to a lack of connection for the server. I knew the server was up as i had a local connection to it which showed it was up. I wondered if there was an issue with packets getting lost / dropped so I did a tracert to see if i could see where the connection was going and that worked fine with no issues at all. Then I checked to see if there was anything going on with AIrVPN or maybe my internet provider was being overly strict so i changed to SSL applies caps or blocks lower ip ranges etc. Same result no connection, I tried multiple ways of setting it up and always got the same result of it timing out. Maybe it was my software so I disabled all firewalls / everything and tried it across multiple machines with fresh hardware and on different operating systems. Same issue nothing was working. Tried multiple ways and getting the local connection via ipconfig on my adapter and binding the IP to the minecraft server interface. Still nothing, tried changing the ports of the server interface still nothing. I gave dynamic DNS a go to see if i could circumvent this issue completely with it and still not working. I am really at a loss and have no clue how to fix this any help would be appreciated. Thanks for reading. Additional Details: - All internet works fine with/without airVpn. - Yes i am connected to a airvpn server and have tried multiple of their servers. - Yes I have restarted / shutdown pc's after installing to give it a "chance" - Yes the port is up and i can see its up via canyouseeme.org - Yes i gave time for the dynamic dns to change and update its entries. - I have tried three different operating systems including Linux. Windows server and desktop. - Connecting via Ethernet cable. - No problems connecting to airvpn servers. - College/University wifi.

Hi, When I am connected to AirVPN under Linux NetworkManager with OpenVPN configs, attempting to SSH to other Linux clients on the LAN has intermittent 10-20 second lockups. This is not true of Eddie connections under Windows or when not connected to AirVPN. Does anyone know what could be causing this and how to fix it?

Hi, Currently running Eddie 2.10.3 on a Windows 8.1 Pro x64 box. With network lock enabled my LAN network shares are not accessible. Going to 'Network' in explorer shows that file and printer sharing (and network discovery) are both turned off. They are impossible to re-enable, and trying to do so simply closes the dialogue but they remain turned off. All relevant services are running on the machine (SSDP discovery service, UPnP etc etc) and as soon as network lock is deactivated network discovery is automatically enabled again, LAN shares show up and everything works OK again. In Preferences > Advanced > Network lock I have already checked the box to 'allow lan/private'. I also tried disabling network lock, de-selecting 'allow lan/private' and then re-enabling everything. Still no joy. The only solution for me to keep network shares available is to disabled network lock entirely.

I am looking to solve an issue where I want to disable IPv6 but keep LAN connectivity. I'm not really a network person, and my understanding of IPv6 is pretty scant. I'm assuming since many VPN clients offer the ability to disable it, and I don't really see it being used/discussed other than under security issues, that its worth disabling in some situations. Is it really OK to leave it on? I certainly don't want to become the victim of some new exploit or anything. But I need access to my LAN machines like my file/media server. Do I need to just set a local 192.x.x.x range in the Routing setup of the client, to keep them outside of the VPN? I don't really understand why disabling IPv6 would disable LAN access anyway, since those PC's have IPv4 addresses, right? Outside of this issue I'm also just generally curious how/why this is. I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.
