I had been having some connection speed drops, so one of the first things i did was update my network drivers. My on-board NIC had an update and TAP adapter still the same. My connection drops on vpn connected traffic went as far down as 50 Mbps sometimes. Anyway, i was fiddling around and then something hit me... I went to Windows 10 Network Center, through the control panel, and looked up the indicated speed over the individual adapters. I noticed that my on-board NIC had the speed on 1Gbps which is normal, but the TAP-Windows adapter V9 had a indicated network speed of 100Mbps. The next day it was 10Mbps for a few hours... Here i was thinking, maybe i can manually set it to 1Gbps (TAP adapter) through the device manager just like with the NIC adapter there (which is on automatic), but that was not possible as far as the properties window went. So here's my situation. I have a 200/20 Mbps (down/up) speed, but with Airvpn connected through Eddie i only get 110Mbps down on a good day. That is on any given server, though i mainly connect to Dutch servers (The Netherlands). Is it possible to bump the network adapter speed up to 1Gbps, instead of 100Mbps (or automatic)? If not, is there anything else i can do to get the most out of my connection speed? I am not expecting to get the full 200Mbps on vpn, but at least a speed high than 110Mbps on a reasonably 'average' population server and load through Eddie. I did read some guides here on the forums, but none of those actually managed to help me thus far.

Standard laptop set up. Windows 7 x64. One WiFi card w/ IPv6 disabled. TAP driver installs by default with IPv6 enabled. AirVPN functions perfectly it seems, within logs I see mention of IPv6 filtering being enabled and disabled without error, and multiple "leak test" sites suggest nothing to be concerned about. What's the advice on the IPv6 setting for the TAP driver: leave it enabled by default or disable it manually?

History of my use with AirVPN: https://airvpn.org/topic/17299-speed-goes-to-0-then-disconnects/ Hello, I am going to try and provide as much useful information as possible with my issue and the steps taken to try and resolve this on my own. Ever since I have updated to the Windows 10 anniversary edition my AirVPN client will be connected for 30 mins and then will disconnect. It will fail to reconnect during many attempts. I will need to close AirVPN and reboot my system for it to work again (but after 30/40 mins the same will happen). As a result of this I am forced to browse the web without my vpn. I followed the steps listed here : https://airvpn.org/topic/16573-tap-driver-9210-causing-a-myriad-of-issues/?p=46207 about changing the Media Status of the TAP network adapter to Always connected. I also tried downgrading and upgrading the TAP driver but neither seem to solve the issue. I believe it's a result of the anniversary update as it was working perfectly before. This evening I have formatted my system and done a fresh install of Windows 10 1607 and the same is still occurring. I'm not sure where to start on this one tbh. I was sat looking at my comp the other day and came up with the idea of using my router firewall (multi OS boot PC) to reject the majority of unwanted traffic. At the moment on my linux mint install (I'm very new to linux - 2 weeks) this is done by iptables and similar setup on windows OS. With windows this isn't a problem as the tap adapter produces a MAC but on my linux install it uses Tun masquerading as my eth adapter IP/no MAC. I should probably first ask is there a need - it would make life easier and rejects traffic at the router reducing network load, a second(1st) line of leak defence if an accidental change is made? I can't setup a firewall rule on my router (non wrt/tomato) that will give the restrictions needed without a separate MAC or IP to my physical adapter. I have tried to setup a Tap adapter on my linux install and ultimately failed. I have tried (linux mint) using gnome network manager (bridge utils installed) ticking the box use tap and downloaded Airvpn config files (no extra lines at point of download) replacing the lines in the file after putting in directory 'dev tun' with 'dev tap0' along with bridge ip's etc and without. I did read somewhere I may need to change 'update-resolv-conf'... Basically I'm out of my depth without help at this stage and I didn't want to make the huge number of changes some articles I read gave guidance for without further advice and guidance. In summary: 1- Will this indeed work well as a second leak protection measure? 2- Is it worth the effort? 3- Thoughts on the idea? 4- How do I change to use a Tap instead of tun with minimal/succinct changes? IF this makes no sense at all, please feel free to pull me up on it

Hey Guys, So I've been getting this issue where the VPN is working great then suddenly just stops for apparent reason, I've included an image below as well as the logs. Even though they do not say 0 nothing loads. I've tried using 9.9.1 9.2.1 and 9.2.3 drivers none of them seem to make a difference. Any idea what is causing this? Logs are attached. The image below. My client (v 2.10.3, Windows 8.1 64-bit) has been working fine the last few days. I left it on overnight. However, when I checked on it this morning, it was in a never-ending loop of disconnecting and reconnecting. The error message I keep getting in the logs is All TAP-Windows adapters on this system are currently in use. After looking it up, and looking for the other answers to this issue, I still can't find what that means and how to fix it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, I cannot connect to any server as every time AirVPN tries to install TAP device driver and fails. I have Win10, I've already installed tap-windows-9.21.1.exe successfully in Win10 safe mode, but seems AirVPN does not see it and tries to install it again, fails and I'm stuck. If anyone has any suggestion, I'd greatly appreciate! Thanks in advance!

My AirVPN was working for a while then all of a sudden out of nowhere this issue comes along. 1) I open AirVPN 2) I login 3) I select a network 4) Connecting... for a while 5) I'm now logged out back at Step 2 I tried 1) re-installing .net 4.0 2) re-installing openVPN (from both the latest airvpn zip but also the latest from the openvpn website directly) 3) re-installed TAP and re-setup TAP from Windows > "Add a new TAP virtual ethernet adapter" which completes succesfully I'm out of ideas, why is this not working!

I had AirVPN client working, then one restart of PC later (possibly the first restart after installing OpenVPN through the AirVPN client). AitVPN client wasn't connecting, so I tried uninstalling OpenVPN and starting again. On the attempted re-install, each time I tried (going through a variety of online suggestions) the attempted install of the TAP adapter produced an error, and once OpenVPN install had finished, any attempted VPN connection through the AirVPN client failted. --- Perhaps more bizarrely, on attempting to seach this forum using 'TAP', I am told this forum doesn't allow that search term. It makes me wonder if that is because it is a common issue, or an oversight. Odd though considering it is a vital word for this system. Google search suggest issues with the TAP driver on Windows are not rare, so perhaps you should be allowing this search word, if blocking it wasn't intential. --- Not sure what to do at this stage. I've paid for a month, had a couple of days use, spent the last 4 days trying to solve this issue, It is not a great amount of money, but I'd rather not throw it away. I appreciate there could be numerous Windows factors here, but I've tried eveything I can think of (disabling / uninstalling antivirus, clean uninstall and reboot).
