  1. Hi, when using airvpn, I have troubles sending emails via the smtp server of my provider. I guess that the ip is rejected. Hence, I would like to exclude the ip of the smtp server. When I used the Eddie GUI, there was an option in the settings. Now I have switched to bluetit (on Linux). How and where can I exclude certain IPs? Many thanks!
  2. I'm using Thunderbird on an Ubuntu 14.04 Desktop, when I try and send an email from my outlook.com email account I get this message, Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp-mail.outlook.com timed out. Try again. It only seems to happen when I'm connected to the VPN, I'm able to send emails by logging in to the outlook.com web portal regardless of whether I'm connected to the VPN or not. I found the IP address for the SMTP server by running an nslookup with the server name & I got this output, Non-authoritative answer: smtp-mail.outlook.com canonical name = smtp.live.com. smtp.live.com canonical name = smtp.glbdns2.microsoft.com. Name: smtp.glbdns2.microsoft.com Address: 65.55.176.126 So I went in to account settings & changed the server name from the host name to the IP address but I'm still having the same issue. Any ideas as to what is wrong?
  3. As a VPN newbie I hope someone may be able to resolve my email sending problem. Since enabling AirVPN on my Win10 PC I am unable to send emails through the Thunderbird mail outgoing server smtp.optusnet.com.au Port:25 (Optusnet default). Changing to Port:587 (Thunderbird default) does not resolve the problem. The Thunderbird error dialogue is: Send Message Error Sending of the message failed because the connection to Outgoing sever (SMTP) smtp.optusnet.com.au timed out. Try again. All incoming pop3 emails are received normally. Is the problem generated by my ISP connection being in Australia and the AirVPN tunnel exiting in Canada? Any solutions?
  4. ok, using Ubuntu 14.04, Thunderbird, VPN through Network manager. Unable to connect to my outgoing mail server. smtp.secureserver.net / 68.178.213.37 port 465 SSL/TLS . I am unable to connect to it while on VPN (Blocked I assume), turn off VPN and I have no problem. This also seems to be the only port they offer. Is there a way to add to the settings that anything going to this address to bypass VPN via the iptables and if so how. Tried a few settings and still doesnt work. Or do I need to add a additional Netcard?
