Hi - the instructions for setting up AirVPN on Chromebook are very helpful, and worked for me. https://airvpn.org/chromeos/ But I cannot figure out if the "block-outside-dns" (or similar) command is enabled as part of this software and settings. When I used dnsleaktest.com I don't see any leaks, and it seems like the "tunnel" is secure. So: Can someone tell me if the AirVPN Chromebook set up has the same "network lock" functionality as Eddie does when I use it on a Mac? Is there a code to use or setting to *check* to make sure this is *always* enabled (block outside dns etc.)? Thank you!

Hi, Whenever I try to access airvpn.org using Chrome I get an HTTP 429 response with the following on the page: We're sorry, our tubes are clogged up. Your IP or your IP range is temporarily suspended. We're working to deliver more tubes on a bigger truck and solve the problem. Please see https://twitter.com/airvpn for information and updates in the meantime. However it doesn't seem to have anything to do with my IP as I can access the site with Firefox (or with Chrome when I specify a Firefox user agent). My normal user agent is Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux armv7l) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Raspbian Chromium/65.0.3325.181 Chrome/65.0.3325.181 Safari/537.36 I get the same response using a Chrome on Windows or Chrome on Android user agent as well. However if I switch to a Firefox or Edge user agent I can access the site with no problem. It is not a big deal since I have a workaround. But, I was wondering if anyone has seen this before and has any idea how to resolve it? Thanks.

greetings, I'm currently testing out AirVPN before buying a longer subscription. However I currently have some trouble with WebRTC leaks of my IPv6 address. My setup is the following: Arch Linux 64 BitEddie 2.15.2Network Lock enabledChrome/FirefoxUBlock origin option to prevent WebRTC leaks enabled.ISP Unitymedia DSLite (IPv6) When I connect to a suggested server (with network lock enabled) and check IPLeak.net, it looks like this: The address seen under WebRTC IPv6 is the same when not connected, so something is definitely leaking. I tried with both Firefox and Chrome. Is there a way to solve this issue? Can WebRTC leaks be an issue when using torrents? Regards

I need a way to run the VPN only through the Chrome browser. I would like to keep all other functionality of the network in place. The most ideal would be a Chrome plugin that I could use my AirVPN credentials. This would be great so that only Chrome is effected and I could potentially disable it with the Chrome extension when needed. I searched through the forums but could only find this post which seems to have gone off topic. https://airvpn.org/topic/9911-setup-airvpn-as-a-proxy/?hl=%2Bchrome+%2Bonly I hope someone has an idea on how to implement this.

Hello I was wondering if any of you have any recommendations when it comes to the falsification of the user agent string in chrome my primary browser I would like to falsify my user agent while using the VPN for added anonymity however I have not come across any proper user agent falsifies in chrome that falsify the screen resolution as well as the browser type Please note I am disabled and use speech recognition software which is not always 100% accurate so I do apologise for any spelling or grammar issues or anything that doesn't make sense feel free to ask for clarification Kind regards Paul

Greetings - I am having slow page loads for Https, placing an Amazon order and various user forums. Http is working just fine. Setup: Macintosh OS X, El Capitan, Google Chrome browser, Eddie v 2.10; SSL Tunnel port 443 I have read issues with Safari DNS prefetch and switched to Chrome to test. Only extensions are Adblock Plus and Disconnect. DNS is confirmed at 10.50.0.1 (AirVPN). Various speed tests confirm that things are humming along. I have also tired various MTU settings on my router from 1500 down and nothing seems to help. This issue is even more noticeable on an iPad running OpenVPN UDP, 443. Chrome or Safari. Any ideas to try next? Thanks.

Hi, I'm doing the three-day trial of AirVPN and I'm having a strange issue. I've set up ForceBindIP shortcuts on my desktop for Firefox and Chrome so that I can have AirVPN running constantly but still bypass it when I need. When I check on ipleak.net, my IP address shows as my ISP IP and the DNS Address Detection shows the AirVPN Server ( which I'm guessing is what I want? ). Doing a speedtest on Chrome shows that my speed is normal, but through Firefox the ping is higher and the speed reduced, as though it were still going through the VPN. Disabling AirVPN results in Firefox displaying normal speeds. I'd greatly appreciate it if anyone could enlighten me as to why this would be! Cheers.

I love browser extensions. I do because - well, they extend the functionality of browsers. They add new functions and make already available things better or easier. That's why it might be good to fund them, especially if they help you enhance your privacy/security. Now there is a topic to fund the NoScript browser extension. Many people know NoScript and its powers and they use it. Two million Firefox installations do. But there's more than NoScript. My idea is the following: Create a list of extensions that directly enhance privacy and/or security and fund them all. The list gets a budget and we split it up. This way we can help many projects in a shorter time and with less money - and the devs would still be thankful! I will start with those four add-ons - they all are available for Firefox: NoScript by Giorgio Maone Self-Destructing Cookies by Ove RequestPolicy by Justin Samuel Disconnect (as well as Facebook/Twitter/Google Disconnect) by disconnect.mePost other addons and ideas here. This may be an idea for May and a request for not funding NoScript alone. May projects funding poll lost. Let's see if it will win in the June poll Extensions which are up for election: NoScript by Giorgio Maone (script management, anti-script/anti-track, anti-XSS, anti-clickjacking) Self-Destructing Cookies by Ove (cookie management, anti-track) RequestPolicy by Justin Samuel (request management, anti-CSRF) Disconnect by disconnect.me (anti-track) BetterPrivacy by IKRG (similar to 2. Self-Destructing Cookies) DoNotTrackMe by Abine, Inc. (similar to 4. Disconnect) HTTP Nowhere by Chris Wilper (anti-HTTP , blocks unencrypted traffic) HTTPS-Finder by jacobsk...@gmail.com ("finds" HTTPS when browser connects to a HTTP website) Referrer Control by muzuiget (referrer control, anti-track) Perspectives (SSL certificate checking without using CAs)Addons not mentioned, reason (bracketed) or linked... AdBlock Plus/EdgeHTTPS-Everywhere (the EFF does much more things - maybe open a separate No-Profit thread for them?!)Convergence/Convergence Extra (don't seem to be actively developed)Ghostery (indirectly mentioned)DNSSEC/TLSA Validator (not open source)

Basically BitBox (Browser in the Box) is a VirtualBox VM with a reduced Debian Linux installation in which a Firefox or Chrome browser is started directly after it's launch. The developer company Sirrix AG is based in Saarbrücken, Germany, and didn't intend to provide maximum anonymity. Instead, they focused on maximum security. You can easily install your favorite anonymity addons and browse (more or less) secure and (more or less) anonymous.
