  2. Hi, I wondering if it was possible for you, to add a exit airvpn IP in Russia & Ukraine ? There is some website on those country offering the access on it only if the IP come from their respective country Thanks !
  3. 4. Hey guys, I've been searching this for a couple of hours now and I've also checked the forum quite thoroughly for the answer to my problem but it sems no one else has this problem. Just in case, apologies if the question's being repeated. So I've been using TorGuard in conjunction with TorBrowser for some time now but I want to be able to access restricted sites with my TorBrowser and after some research, I found that so far, 2 of the best VPNs that can work together with TorBrowser to still use Tor but use the VPN service as the exit node are AirVPN and BolehVPN. I chose AirVPN and it seemed simple to do on the page https://airvpn.org/tor/ Heres the problem. When I start up AirVPN first then the TorBrowser and navigate to ipleak.net, it shows the TorBrowser IP address as the end node and the Tor Exit Node is green and the AirVPN Exit Node is red. AirVPNs method seems so simple and straight-forward which is why it confuses me how this isnt working. For it to work, I should be seeing the Public Exit IP from AirVPN on ipleak.net as my IP address and the AirVPN Exit Node should be green. Thanks for any help.
  5. Hello, I was wondering if it were possible to have a proxied VPN connection with AirVPN. (I'm not talking about running something like TOR through a VPN) I know of another VPN (which I won't name) that offers one and I found it very useful, that way I can set which applications will and will not use the VPN. It's also another way to prevent torrent applications from running if there is no VPN access; you can bind to MAC address and set up to run through a socks5 proxy. There is a specific reason why I need it, MS Office 365 doesn't seem to be able to connect through a VPN connection but runs fine with it off.
  6. ( wasnt able to post in How to section ) You need to disable all SSL Scanning ( even if you DONT use a SSL tunnel via air vpn ) else you get alot of Disconects ( atleast i did ) First Set all Open VPN and AIR VPN Processes like this up Now Allow the following Processes OpenVPN Daeomon openvpn.exe AirVPN - Windows UI Now the next step is to Disable SSL Scanning dont worry you wont harm your security as Kaspersky told me there are Multple layer that will still cover you ! Then Click here All done ! mine now works 1 hour straight ( before these settings it was disconecting every 4 min approx ) Works even with other clients and or vpn . Sorry for my english. Have fun !
  7. Hello everyone. I had a question for the forums today. Is it possible to run Eddie (or any other way to connect to AirVPN) on Tails OS? For those who do not know, Tails is a Linux based OS that is very secure and routes all connections through Tor. However, if I am not mistaken, since there is no VPN in that setup, the operator of the Tor relay node can see your actual IP, yes? So, is it possible to use AirVPN on Tails? I tried earlier but it gave me some sort of error when I tried to run the Eddie client's file. Also, will using a VPN on Tails make me more secure? If so, what are the benefits of doing so?
  8. Asus RT-N16: DD-WRTBroadcom BCM4716 chip rev 1Clock = 500 MHz (slightly up from factory 480) My bottleneck is at the router while utilizing the DD-WRT OpenVPN Client function. I get a 40% decrease in bandwidth as apposed to using VPN straight from the computer. This is due to limintations of the onboard processor. I use the router because I have just the one VPN account so I have all the computers in the network going through it. I tested the bandwidth with just a single computer connected to assure that it wasn't a network sharing issue. Now I believe my options are: Overclock the hell out of the router. Running some kind of local OpenVPN Server. Purchase a better router. Purchase additional separate monthly VPN accounts I would like to go with 2 because its the cheapest and less risky. Also because I am already running a local tower as SFTP file server and Ubuntu+Debian package archive mirror. Now my knowledge of OpenVPN is limited as is my knowledge of DD-wrt routing functions. Ideally I would like to prevent any and all PlainText traffic. So I think my setup would look roughly like this. Current Configuration: [Computers & Devices] --P--> [Router] --E--> [iSP] --E--> [VPN Provider] --P--> [internet] Proposed Configuration: [Computers & Devices] --P--> [Router] --P--> [Local OpenVPN Server] --E--> [Router] --E--> [iSP] --E--> [VPN Provider] --P--> [internet] P = PlainText E = Encrypted VPN Tunnel
  9. Hi everbody, I wanna use VPN over TOR but there is no Internet traffic after successfully VPN connection. Besides VPN connection disconnects almost after 1 minute because of TCP connection timeout. I've configured proxies from Advanced section of NetworkManager and I'm using SOCKS protocol as proxy type. I'm using Linux OS and NetworkManager to manage my network interfaces and VPN connections. My OpenVPN version is 2.3.0. I've already read this manuel but I couldn't find any solution. Is there any suggestion to overcome this problem? https://airvpn.org/tor/ Solution: - Use Eddie client, - Enable control port and cookie authentication in your torrc file as described at this URL https://airvpn.org/tor/ - Set Tor as connection mode in AirVPN -> Preferences, don't use TCP + Socks Proxy as me (my first mistake) - Be careful with the port numbers; because default port numbers in manuel and Eddie client are respectively 9150 and 9151 but in my torrc file they are 9050, 9051 and it's very easy to overlook for example my situation. (my second mistake) - You can export ovpn configuration file which is special for "VPN over TOR" from Eddie client, so you can use that file to connect VPN from command line using openvpn command. For me it's more easy than using Eddie client.
  10. I believe that passing as few hops as possible on the Internet is a good thing in terms of privacy, security and stability. So I was thinking about developing a setup where I would route traffic to IPs in to country X to the VPN exit node in country X, and traffic to country Y to a VPN exit node in country Y, and so on... This could easily be setup in a router like pfSense etc. I would love to hear your reflections/comments on the security and privacy in such a setup. BR
  11. Hello, does anyone know how to create a portable Windows 10 install to act as a live CD on otherwise non admin computers so that i may use the VPN? I have already tried WintoUSB and the program fails with the error "failed to start system API". Does anyone know of another way or different software i can use?
  12. Using AirVPN with Tor ALL the time... I am a new AirVPN client and at first I was confused while getting started had to watch a you tube tutorial. I had used Nord VPN and a couple others but ther were way to slow and sloppy. But after using AirVPN for a couple days I think I found the best VPN for my needs. woo-hoo This makes more sense to me. I do have one quick question and would love feedback... I use Tor almost everyday and now that I have AirVPN I was wondering what is the best way to use the both together. Do I download the tor bundle every time? Or is there a way to haveit preset? What do you fellow users do and what have you found works the fastest, the most consistent and how much anonymity do you think you have if buying?not selling items from DNM? Any feedback is much appreciated.
  13. Hi there everyone! Today I was runnning netstat -nbt on CMD in Windows with the intent to get the IP address of a game server I was connected to. But as I scrolled down, I saw this: [skype.exe] TCP 10.4.50.209:4855 xxx.xx.x.xxx:8080 ESTABLISHED The xxx.xx.x.xxx is my real IP address (I was running this command while connected to AirVPN). I wasn't sure if this was normal for my IP to appear here, so I ask everyone here. Is it normal to be seeing my real IP address in netstat -nbt? If not, how can I prevent it?
  14. Hi everyone, I have million of questions and also looking for step by step guide. im running mac os x. I run Tor Bundle 1st, then start airvpn client in tor mode (pref->protocol->tor) and when i check my ip in Tor browser and firefox (all stock settings) i have 2 different stories: in Tor browser i have Tor exit node ip in firefox i have my exit vpn ip 1) so what is really happening? 2) does firefox go tor then to vpn? 3) how to check tor "stage" if it even happens(or i have to socks proxy localhost??) 4) why does tor browser "bypasses vpn"? 5) how to set everything go smooth? 6) is it possible to work is tor browser? Additional 6) how to avoid "VPN fingerprint" and "double ping" warnings when checking anonymity (i've read that ssl or ssh protocols should be used....but then i'm not able to use Tor?(i'm not able to choose 2 protocols at the same time in GUI) or how to add socks 5 proxy to the chain as an exit node while still using Tor as a 1 stage) Looking for your replies if you have a link to a "noob" manual, I would greatly appreciate it!!! (I wonder why there are no standard airvpn manual on how to do it step-by-step)
  15. I'm having problems connecting tor -> vpn I'm quite flummoxed as to why considering when I first set it up it worked perfectly fine. I have barely touched the settings in the vpn and and problems connecting through tor started occurring after I switched to automatic protocol (which also worked fine and still does) and then back to using the tor protocol. When I test the tor protocol it tells me the test is successful however when I attempt to connect it gets stuck on checking authorization while flashing to connecting the the vpn server every few seconds and then back to checking authorization. I have left it running like this for probably over 15 minutes it just keeps flashing back and forth without connecting. I'm pretty stumped on how to solve this considering the test for the protocol comes back successful.
  16. Hi, I have a problem with Airvpn + voip. My setup goes as: Android with OpenVPN (in config is selected best latency server and UDP option) > Zoiper android VOIP app which connects to callwithus.com voip service. I choosed airvpn for best speed recommendations. VPN I had before was slower and I could not call with vpn/voip. Voip is configured well (I guess, maybe needed some options for VPN) because if I turn off VPN, voip works just fine. Anyone has experience, suggestions, solutions how to make this setup working? Because for now it just dead silence - connection speed is too low I guess. Thanks, criminaldamage
  17. Hello, I can be online only with airvpn, if I'm not connected to airvpn I can't connect my pc to internet. I've windows 10, and I never used Network Lock. Thanks for help and sorry for my english.
  18. hi there, I have technical issues with skype video calls always when connected over an airvpn server. the connection establishes and I have a couple of moments before the connection freezes and skype goes into re-connection mode. During this time I also cannot browse other internet sites (seems the connection is re-configuring or something). When not surfing over the vpn I don't have these problems. I am using: win7 64bit latest skype version openvpn 2.3.6 comodo firewall (configured as you described) does it have anything to do with certain ports or something? cheers
  19. Goal: get https://github.com/jishi/node-sonos-http-api to find my local Sonos devices Mac: running AirVPN, Local IP: 10.0.1.150 Sonos: IP: 10.0.1.19 When AirVPN is not connected, and I run the node server from the URL above, the server quickly finds the Sonos speaker and connects. However, once I connect to AirVPN, the server endlessly loops with: scanning for players in ip 10.0.1.150 scanning for players in ip 10.4.18.107 <-- AirVPN IP If I go to AirVPN --> Preferences --> Routes --> "Not specified routes go: Outside the VPN tunnel," it works. However, I know that effectively stops the benefit of AirVPN. So, if I set AirVPN --> Preferences --> Routes --> Not specified routes go: Inside the VPN tunnel, and set an IP Range of 10.0.1.0/24, it does NOT work and endlessly loops scanning. Am I understanding the routes table correctly? I'm so not privy of CIDR formats, but I think I understand that 10.0.1.0/24 means 10.0.1.1 - 10.0.1.254, correct?
  20. I'm relatively new to VPNs and I'm having a hard time finding out what I should do about a few general settings in my torrent client. I use Windows 7 and qBittorrent, and my settings so far are as follow: qBittorrent is only bound to the interface used by the VPN;UPnP/NAT-PMP in qBittorrent is disabled;qBittorrent's listening port is set to the port I opened in the AirVPN web client settings;at the router level, UPnP is disabled and no ports are forwarded;Network Lock (automatic mode) in the AirVPN client is enabled;a proxy is not being used -- all traffic is simply being routed through the VPN;and lastly, the AirVPN client has mostly default settings. What I should do about the uTP, DHT, PEX, and Local Peer Discovery settings in qBittorrent? Currently I have them all disabled, but is it safe to enable them, or do I run the risk of having my actual IP exposed to ths swarm if I enable some of them?
  21. first of all im not fluenty in english so its really hard to understand what some thread are tellin me to do, on top of this im not a computer geek i dont know nothin about how stuff works this is all new to me. the reason i want a vpn is so i can torrent safely, thats all. i dont want the isp to know that im downloadin stuff in torrent site, ive had already receive a letter about 5 years ago, i already moved to another state i dont want to happen again here, can somebody explain to me the steps to do this like im 5 years old? i want to buy airvpn, after i buy it what happens next? i saw a youtube video and i saw that there were two thing that airvpn gave the guy,, airvpn and openvpn why two? and which one do i used? also i read about fordward port to my bittorrrent client i dont whats that or p2p or protocol. can i do this succesfully if im usin my isp router? just tell me how to get it to work so i cant safely download some torrent which i rarely do but when i do i like it to be safe. thanks so much, all this is like a new language to me lol
  22. Hi, Recently I re-used an old Netgear WNR3500 v2 I had lying around and put dd-wrt on. I followed the tutorial on here and got it all working :-) So my network at home is as followed *Cisco 867VAE-K9 as my VDSL router - connects to my ISP and offers DHCP for local devices. *Netgear WNR3500 plugged into Cisco router I use the range 192.168.0.0/24 for my home network such that :- 192.168.0.254 - ISP gateway via my CISCO - so most devices use this 192.168.0.251 - VPN tunnel gateway via Netgear - so any devices to use VPN point to this gateway and also change DNS server to be VPN DNS server etc. The Netgear's WAN port is configured to be 192.168.9.250 with its gateway pointing out to the CISCO on 192.168.0.254 My initial test is as below. Down: 17.289 Mbit/s Out, 6.271 Mbit/s In (36%), 20MB - Up: 6.585 Mbit/s Out, 3.183 Mbit/s In (48%), 20MB - Date: Sun, 13 Dec 2015 20:27:45 GMT - Buffers: 20MB/20MB - Laps: 3, Time: 178.81 secs Does this setup seem ok, I think my speed is limited by the CPU in the router or could it be I just need to try a different server etc ? CPU ModelBroadcom BCM4716 chip rev 1 CPU Clock453 MHz Thanks !!
  23. Hello, I'm having a really weird issue. I initially had ufw setup, but my speeds were horrendous. Pings all worked well everywhere with good latency, but connecting (www, ssh, etc) to anything took forever! After trying many different servers I disabled my firewall, and BAM speeds were excellent. So I said screw it, lets try the network lock on the AirVPN GUI and there we go again with incredibly slow speeds. I'm running Ubuntu 15.10 if that matters, I'm all out of ideas any assistance would be appreciated as I really don't want to leave the firewall off.
  24. Hi all. I just signed up for service and am a newbie when it comes to this stuff. I am using Debian jessie, and have successfully installed the AirVPN client. How do I set up my torrent client (Transmission) and my browser to utilize AirVPN's services? Thanks!
  25. So I know this maybe over the top and a wee bit silly but what if you chained 2 VPNs together through virtualization (VPN 1 on host machine and VPN 2 on a virtual machine) but instead of running 1 virtual machine you installed a virtual machine inside of a virtual machine and installed VPN 2 inside that virtual machine thats installed inside the virtual machine then create another virtual machine seperate from the others and install pfsense and configure it and route the traffic through VM 2 (virtual machine inside the virtual machine) to VM 1 then back through the host? And of cousre run TOR too............ VPNception?
