  1. Hi, I have an issue with my home network. I have an ASUS RT-AC87U router. I use Expressvpn on the router with polcy routing. My Mac is connected straight to the WAN but I use AirVPN'd client Eddie. I have had no issues with either Expressvpn or AirVPN. Last night I spent serveral hours on my universities website doing work. At the end of the night I decided to just check everything was running ok with the VPN connections. I found no matter what I did (clear caches, delete cookies, check my dns settings, renew the lease etc) this problem persists. My iPhone uses the Expressvpn (openvpn in the router) and my mac uses the AirVPN client eddie. When I run the ipleak.net test I receive 100 DNS errors. I have not changed any settings in the router whatsoever. I've changed nothing. See the screenshots ... (Sweden is AirVPN, US is Expressvpn) Obviously the error is being caused within my router, which I have restarted and checked for a ASUS-WRT Merlin update).

  3. Hi, Totally new to doing VPN over TOR. I'm just seeing what its like to set up. I'm using an iMac 27" macOS 10.13.3 & Eddie 2.12.4. I have Tor Browser installed and running fine, its connected to TOR. I followed the instructions on this page: https://airvpn.org/tor/ - In Preferences for Eddie Proxy/Tor>Type>Tor I clicked the test and Eddie indicates there is connectivity to Tor. Am I actually running the VPN through TOR as it is? See images. The Test indicates there is connectivity. But how do I know the VPN traffic is running through TOR? ipleak.net doesn't indicate any tor exit node. Any help or suggestion will be appreciated. Cheers.
  4. Hello. I want to organize virtual local network. Make my notebook, home PC, and several few virtual machine to be in one virtual "local" network. Is it possible with airVPN?
  5. I've managed to get a pfSense VM working with AirVPN's Serpentis server via Stunnel. Given the importance of using the latest versions of Stunnel and OpenSSL, I used pfSense 2.2-BETA x64, which is based on FreeBSD 10.1-RELEASE x64. Working in a FreeBSD 10.1 x64 VM, I made the stunnel-5.07 package and its dependencies from ports. See <http://www.freshports.org/security/stunnel/>. 6. Hi, I wrote a short review about different VPN services and how they are working on DD-WRT routers. AirVPN is also included as a part of the test. Was just testing against Swedish servers, since I'm located in Sweden want the fastest speed and lowest ping, even when using a VPN. Hope AirVPN is soon replacing all Kustband servers in Sweden, with only Altushost as ISP or similar providers
  7. Hello, now i get my new connection and with it i get ipv6 only. There is a ds-lite tunnel for ipv4 things but it won't work with the AirVPN client. I always get the following: The machine runs with Xubuntu 16.10 64bit. You will find my logfile in the Attachment. I can't use AirVPN now. :-( What can i do? Cheers AirVPN_20161202_090120.txt
  8. Problem: I have devices on different subnets ( 192.168.15.x, 192.168.35.x ) and would like for them to be able to discover each other. Specifically I want them so see each others minecraft (bedrock/pocket) worlds. the 15.x network is the "privileged" home network, where as the 35.x network is intended as guest-wifi network with no internet access ( also vpn clients would be given a IP here ) currently they cannot see each other - if I add a route with 192.168.15.x to the vpn config then vpn clients can access webservers in this subnet but minecraft clients still can't see each other. My router is a N66 running tomatoUSB and both subnets are entirely controlled by it. Question: Is this even possible? If so - how? Any help would be appreciated I currently do not know enough to even successfully google for marginally useful information
  9. It would be helpful if current or past users of these services can share their views. Any other advise is also appreciated. Thanks in advance. [Current and satisfied AirVPN user]
  10. The findings I always has an 100Mbit/s connection from my ISP. This always worked well with AirVPN I got about 92Mbit/s with this VPN. Some days ago I got a 200Mbit/s connection from my ISP and the VPN speeds dropped to about 60Mbit/s and sometimes lower. I tried several VPN and also different protocols. Even stunnel didn't fixed the problem. The solution I often read about changing the MTU size or the mssfix value to 1300. This did not the Job for me. My solution was the TCP Optimizer. This tool can just be executed and must not be installed. It should be run in Administrator Mode. (Right click on the exe file -> run as administrator) Step 1 adjust your connection speed Step 2 select your network adapter Step 3 Click on MTU/Latency Step 4 Click on largest MTU [do this once when you are connected to the VPN and once outside the VPN] In VPN I got a result of maximum MTU 1300 and outside I had 1500. Please share your results and your connection speed. Step 5 Back to general settings At the bottom choose "custom" set MTU to the calculated value and "apply changes". Even after the changes not all AirVPN servers worked well for me. I will create a list with servers who worked with my options. Please report your results if this helped you. 11. It would seem that in an effort to shill for the Chinese Government, Mojang has decided to ban all users on VPN's from connecting to the login servers needed to access the game. In doing so, they hope to force all Chinese players to fall back to the Chinese government approved version of Minecraft. All VPN users should now be logged out when connecting and fed the message "Invalid username or password" When emailing Mojang about the issue, they recommend connecting without a VPN to fix the issue, and in one instance in the reddit thread below, a user was informed that their account was outright banned for using a VPN (However it is unknown if this was because of a previous infraction such as bypassing server bans etc.?) And told to use the Chinese version instead. https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/5vwve1/mojang_now_ban_accounts_for_vpn_usage/ Now i personally do not play Minecraft that much at all anymore, but because of this i cannot access my game simply for trying to protect my privacy, and I'm not even from China. I Refuse to remove the VPN connection simply to play a game, and no one else should have to either. Sadly, i already purchased the game a very long time ago, so i cannot boycott them, but i can certainly spread the news of what they are doing, so that other VPN users looking to play the game should know either not to buy it, expect to disconnect if you do, and if you don't you will have to get the game through other means to retain the ability to play when connected to VPN's.

  13. Hi,kinda new here, any kind of guide to follow to get airvpn work with Mikrotik RB951G-2HnD router? i used L2TP with it before with Torguard, but it seems not to connect with airvpn,i tried to change config and add openvpn instead of L2TP,but it fails to connect. thank you.
  14. Hello! I have been using AirVPN at home like a charm for months now, however when I am on a certain network away from my house I cannot seem to get it to work. When I use all of the non-SSL and SSH protocols, it fails to connect. When I use SSL or SSH I get an error in my logs: "Squid does not support some access protocols. For example, the SSH protocol is currently not supported." How can I fix this so I can use SSL or SSH?
  15. So i cant connect to popcorntime whenever i turn on my vpn it works without it but the second it is conected to the vpn it doesnt work anymore, Browser works but is very slow i tried alot of different servers ports i dont know what to do anymore
  16. Will you use your VPN service anyway when visiting Russia?
  17. I work in a school in China that has suddenly changed admin and become somewhat hostile. According to one of the IT people here, they've installed software on a server that would enable them to take screenshots of anyone's computer or phone that is on the network. We don't have to install software on our laptops or phones to be able to get on the network so I really don't see how taking screenshots is remotely possible. It MIGHT work if we log onto the network to move files or to print, but even that seems a bit of a stretch. I trust the IT guy as far as being honest. He didn't install this new powerful software, but heard someone else in his office talking about it. I'm guessing if I'm on a VPN my Internet use should still be secure. Any comments or ideas about this?
  18. Think of sshuttle as a "poor man's VPN". You start sudo sshuttle -r 1.2.3.4 0/0 and when you surf to http://ipchicken.com you're IP is 1.2.3.4, as if you were on a VPN. But sshuttle takes a whole different approach via python. If it works, it is great to use with a rental VPS or sth. like that. It may not work on all Linux versions, but if it does, it is less hassle to run and set up than "softether VPN".
  19. When using Torrents my Speed is only about ~ 0.5 - 1.2 mb/s over udp 443! But if i try to download a steam game or something else it maxed out my fully 160 mbps internet that´s about 19 mb/s! Specs : i7 6700K - Windows 10 - OpenVPN - Unitymedia Cable Internet 150/10
  20. Hi guys! I set up my Windows 7 PC by this instruction: https://airvpn.org/topic/3405-windows-comodo-prevent-leaks/. It's a nice HOW-TO guide and i'm very grateful for it, but is there any similar guide to add TOR before my VPN connection? I tried to find some info on this forum, but I couldn't. So, if anybody knows links to HOW-TO guides please give it to me. Thank you! P.S. - I know about Eddie, but i really want to set up it with OpenVPN.
  21. Hello, I have AirVPN running as OpenVPN on a Asus RT-AC68P where all my client connect to. Port forwarding and everything works great. I have unRAID running on a home server connected to this router behind the VPN that is running the lastest version on Nextcloud. I am easily able to access my Nextcloud outside the home, remotely, via the AirVPN port forward airdns system. I want to be able to access my Nextcloud server via a single address whether it is remotely (where I use the airdns port forwarder) or in house on the same WiFi network. Clearly if I'm at within the network then the Airdns port forwarder will not work. I know I can just use the local address at home to access but it would be nice not to have to keep switching server addresses. Is there a way to do this? Do I need to get a webhost name and have that forward to the static IP? Thank you!
  22. I too needed a long time before I knew how to get a printer and scanner working while online when using a VPN with either OpenVPN or Eddie the Client of AirVPN. Well the answer is much simpler than you think. You need to give your printer an IP4 address that does not change. Like 192.168.1.123 as long as you always make sure it looks like your Router IP4 Gateway adress. My printer has IP address 192.168.1.123 and if you don't understand how to do that either from within your router DHCP or from the printer itself I cannot help you unfortunately. My printer is simply at this IP4 address via a Wireless Wifi connection at the same router which has address 192.168.1.1 as most Routers do. But yours might look different. The problem with Windows 10 automatic discovery of printers and scanners it searches all network adapters and it might detect your printers and scanners even like it does here, but when on VPN I couldn't print or scan. Actually the scanner didn't even work before I knew the tricks how to install the same printer manually from an IP4 address by hand. In Windows 10 right click the start button if your right handed with your right mouse button and enter command below: control printers I would have liked to show a screenshot here but my language isn't English, so I describe that after you execute that command a Window pops up showing you devices like printers and scanners even when they might not work. Now look carefully inside that window, what does it say? ADD PRINTERbut then in your language. Well press that button. Another window pops up trying to discover devices on your network, but you should look for and press the text PRINTER I WANT IS NOT ON THIS LIST Now the magic starts to happen. It has many options to add a Printer, but you know you want a local network printer search for ADD PRINTER WITH TCP/IP ADDRESSBut then again it is in your own language but look for TCP/IP and press that option. Then press NEXT button. Another window pops up, leave automatic detection enabled. And guess what, it asks for the IP4 address for your printer, don't worry about port name that will be automatically filled. Type in your Printer IP4 address inside the IP text Area 192.168.1.123was my Printer IP4 address on my local network. Then it might ask for a driver, if you have none choose a printer that is a version higher but of same type. If you have a Deskjet choose a similar Deskjet, if you have a Laser choose a similar Laser. In my case I simply had the original driver which actually isn't necessary at all. If your printer is 4000 series and you see a driver called 4070 series try that, as long as it is the same brand of printer and same type of printer (Deskjet=Deskjet and Laser=Laser etcetera) Usually you don't need a driver at this point. Wireless printers communicate with a standard protocol hence Linux Operating Systems almost always too easily support printers and scanners. Then you have to press a few times NEXT, NEXT and maybe another NEXT. Make sure you remember how your new manually added printer that only communicates inside your local network outside any VPN is called. Software using printers or scanners like a webbrowser need a simple adjustment. That is when you print you must select the new printer or scanner you just added by hand. Please let me know if this works for you, and if you are English, can you do these steps with screenshots and place them in yours? I have a strange language you don't understand, So hence my screenshots would not explain it to you, but in English it does. I cannot for example tell you how to access the configuration panel in your language but that is why I told you it all starts with a simple command to execute control printers In my case my scanner wasn't even working without VPN and when I executed MSPAINT.EXE, I could even scan wireless when either with or without VPN enabled or disabled. Before I could only print or install hundreds of Megabytes from HP Printer Driver. Remember the name and IP4 address from your printer that is all you need. Don't rely on auto detection when on VPN.
  23. Hi, my wifi connects to Airvpn but ipaddress is the same. Need help, thanks.
  24. Hello All, I've been with AirVPN a while now. I think they're the best. My ISP plan was 10 Mbps down and 1 Mbps up. Initially, I had some speed issues. Staff were wonderful and solved my issue. Great speed all around. I recently upgraded my line to 50 Mbps up and 10 Mbps down. When not connected to the VPN I get speeds around 45 to 47 Mbps down and 7 to 8 Mpbs up. Connected with AirVPN, I get about 25 to 27 Mbps and 7 Mpbs up. Strange that the upload is not affected. I have tried so many things; different protocols with different servers and so forth and yet no resolution. I have contacted Staff and they suggested a few things but nothing has worked. I think they may be stumped as well. My modem is a TP-Link TD-W9970. I believe it's properly configured. I do NOT want to try another VPN service. I've been reading online to find a solution. Someone mentioned changing the MTU settings from the computer (not the router). Could not quite get it to work. I don't know if my CPU is responsible as it is about ten years old. I plan to upgrade my system soon. If it is the CPU, I don't understand why the speed is fine without the VPN. Any ideas would be so greatly appreciated. Thank you all, DL
  25. Using Windows 10 here. I'm trying to use VPN over Tor, but it's not working! My exit IP is the Tor one and i don't know what to do, since i already followed this: https://airvpn.org/tor/ I'm already with Tor marked in the connection mode, so i test and it says ok, and then i save it. I do this with the Tor Browser already open. I've also already read the "Tor Control Authentication" section of the link above and checked the Torrc file. And there is already the "ControlPort 9151" and the "CookieAuthentication1" writted. In the article above, it also says that i should run from a terminal some kind of code, but it looks like something for Linux distributions. What should I do?
