  1. Hello All, I've been with AirVPN a while now. I think they're the best. My ISP plan was 10 Mbps down and 1 Mbps up. Initially, I had some speed issues. Staff were wonderful and solved my issue. Great speed all around. I recently upgraded my line to 50 Mbps up and 10 Mbps down. When not connected to the VPN I get speeds around 45 to 47 Mbps down and 7 to 8 Mpbs up. Connected with AirVPN, I get about 25 to 27 Mbps and 7 Mpbs up. Strange that the upload is not affected. I have tried so many things; different protocols with different servers and so forth and yet no resolution. I have contacted Staff and they suggested a few things but nothing has worked. I think they may be stumped as well. My modem is a TP-Link TD-W9970. I believe it's properly configured. I do NOT want to try another VPN service. I've been reading online to find a solution. Someone mentioned changing the MTU settings from the computer (not the router). Could not quite get it to work. I don't know if my CPU is responsible as it is about ten years old. I plan to upgrade my system soon. If it is the CPU, I don't understand why the speed is fine without the VPN. Any ideas would be so greatly appreciated. Thank you all, DL
  2. I'm not sure if it is a problem or just a harmless bug or something, but my upload speed goes well into the mb's when I use a torrent client, even though the client (Tixati) informs me that my upload is below the 1 mb. Without using a torrent client my upload speed is as expected, mostly at zero and then sometimes shooting towards 440 kbit/s or less but just for a second. I tried finding answers but only found one thread about this on this forum and it didn't contain a solution or even an explanation. So if someone can shed some light on this, that would be most welcome.
  3. Hello, I was watching the AV client after some pages timed out and noticed my upload speed would jump to 34 MB/s. My plan is only 7 MB down and 0.3 up. Am I being hacked? Do the AV server throttle bandwidth during a connection? I checked task monitor and the network option and it only showed Open VPN daemon is using 0.1 MB Would a tool like Fiddler help? Thoughts? Thanks, Mr. V
  4. Hello, ADSL usually (always ?) favours download stream to the upload. But with AirVPN things are getting even worse. My ADSL line synchronizes (ISP) @ 1,4 MB/s down / 130 KB/s up - Using my whole download bandwidth (1,4 MB/s) without VPN gives me 45 KB/s up - Using my whole download bandwidth (1,3 MB/s) with AirVPN gives 8 KB/s up (almost 6 times less !!!) This is very annoying when you're torrenting and you need to respect certain ratio. I've installed the 9.9 TAP drivers 'cause they behave better on my machine. I've tried the 9.21.2 but I still get 6 times less upload speed while downloading at max speed. AirVPN settings : - Protocol "Automatic" - Send buffer 64K - Receive buffer 128K - mssfix 1332 I've tried different buffer settings, with or without mssfix but it didn't change anything. Do you know how I could achieve better upload speed with AirVPN ?
  5. OK so today I opened up my air VPN. on my office pc, I have it connected 24/7 as I dont want my ISP to snoop on what I do since they are my friends and competition. I have a 50-50MBPS. as soon as the app came up I saw the upload speed was at 43mbps i was like WTF i quickly opened up glasswire to discover that no app was using the bandwidth but the openVPn client was uploading like it was nonones business. I looked at the history and it looks like the openvpn Daemon had uploaded 7.5GB in 1 hour. I am very concerned. anybody have an explanation for this? Thanks
  6. Hey guys, I'm having another VPN issue, this time regarding FTP upload speeds. I followed this guide and it worked perfectly to connect to my FTP server, but trying to download something from the server is absolutely impossible. The first moment of connection will yield somewhere between 20 kB/s and 5 megs a second, but will deteriorate seemingly exponentially. I've let a connection run for half and hour or so, just to see what will happen, and the speed reaches a plateau at around 100 bytes a second. Obviously, I refuse to believe the VPN is at fault for this; I assume it's my ISP. I've checked out others with similar problems, but I haven't found any solutions. In total, I have tried to download the file via my own IP, a DDNS pointing to the VPN server, the VPN server's exit IP, and the LAN address. From the LAN address, everything is as expected - a speed that is normal for me, about 3 megs. When connecting through my WAN IP through port 21 (which is correctly forwarded), I get a connection timeout error (Something I need to investigate). When connecting through the VPN or the DDNS, the problem I described above plagues me. Below is what I monitored by eye when trying to download a file: 3.42 MB/s 19 kB/s 14 kB/s 12 kB/s 10 kB/s 9 kB/s 8 kB/s 7 kB/s 6.9 kB/s 6.4 kB/s 5.5 kB/s 4.8 kB/s 4.3 kB/s 4.02 kB/s 3.65 kB/s 3.21 kB/s 2.98 kB/s ... (it continues to fall, but I stopped the connection there) And here is the log that it gave. I don't know if the information will be useful, though, since I prematurely terminated the connection. If anyone can give me a hand, I'd really appreciate it!
  7. Hi, The upload speed constantly flicks between zero and about 1kb. Even with all browsers closed and nothing else connected to the internet (apart from AirVPN). Why is the upload speed (reported in the Overview) not zero? Same question for download speed. Thx.
  8. Hi, Sometimes when I connect to AirVPN no matter what server I choose there is no internet connectvity and the client just shows a huge upload speed like: 99999KB/s which is obviously not accurate! Just wondering if anyone has seen this? It seems to happen about 25% of the time and the only way to fix it is to reboot the machine.
  9. I have a problem with Utorrent and uploading. My internet connection is 50/50 fiber and gives me these speeds. I didn't expect this for VPN, but I do actually get decent download speeds, so that's good. However, I do not manage to upload much at all. I have forwarded a port on from your web-console: 35295. This has then been setup as the listening port in Utorrent. I have turned off all portforwarding for this port or utorrent on the router. Your web-console shows thee port as open, but Utorrent setup guide reports that port is not open. Utorrent seems to be conflicting itself, cause the little checkmark in the bottom right corner turns green. The max speed i have seen uploading so far has been 250kbps or so, very sad story and not usable. I have included 3 screenshots showing my settings, utorrent status and your web-console. I have tried disabling my Comodo firewall just to see if it makes a difference, but it did not. I only use AirVPN for torrents at the moment, so I don't have it enabled all the time. What am I doing wrong, and what can I do to solve it?
