  1. Hi there, A couple of times I've been torrenting overnight & found in the morning that Eddie was off & my internet was not blocked. Which is cause for concern... So today I upgraded Eddie to 2.18.9 & for the first time installed Hummingbird (I use MX Linux running sysv init). I have IPv6 blocked at the GRUB kernel line (& /etc/hosts for all its worth) & via the Eddie GUI interface as well. I believe that due to IPv6 being blocked I get a Hummingbird warning as follows (taken from the Eddie System Report) when I start Eddie: . 2020.09.21 12:21:54 - Elevated: __Shell, stderr: RTNETLINK answers: Operation not supported W 2020.09.21 12:21:54 - Routes, add 2606:6080:1002:7:def:437f:f6fa:7759 for gateway fde6:7a:7d20:1402::1 failed: Exception: RTNETLINK answers: Operation not supported This error doesn't really bother me, what does, is that the Eddie tray icon remains grey due to this warning (I think that's why, as in my ignorance I can see no other problems when I read the system report). Is there a way to get that tray icon to function properly - display blue when it is connected & grey when not? As I find that to be such a quick visual validation of what is happening with Eddie/Hummingbird. I made a conky script to display my external IP on desktop 1. only. As that is where I want to see it. This is nowhere near as good as the tray icon, as it is only hidden when I watch a video. Thanks for your time.
  2. I cannot have eddie's netlock feature working in a qube in Qubes OS 4. When trying to enable it within eddie-ui, I get a pop-up "Exception: Unable to initialize iptable_filter module". The same with the cli: $ eddie-ui -cli -netlock (...) Activation of Network Lock - Linux iptables Exception: Unable to initialize iptable_filter module (...) This behavior was observed both in a Debian 10 qube and in a Fedora 32 qube. I don't get this error in a Debian 10 installed over bare metal. eddie ver. 2.18.9
  3. When will the Eddie app on Android be updated again?😤 The latest update is from June 2019.
  4. Hello. Whenever I boot my computer, I have a few seconds where my internet works perfectly with my own IP. If I am quick, I can open my browser and find my own IP showing up. This means that all applications running before Eddie will leak my IP. Only a few seconds after when Eddie starts is the Killswitch active.. Does anyone know how I can have the killswitch working all the time? Even when Eddie isn't running? :)
  5. Hello. I recently looked for the newest servers (In hopes of finding one not being blocked yet by VPN blocklists). Unfortunately the servers I saw recently added isn't on the list. I tried refreshing (With the button in the bottom right in the server list). I also tried changing "Servers list update every" to "Every minute". I also tried switching between Stable and Beta Update channels. Nu luck. One of the servers I can't find is: https://airvpn.org/servers/alruba/ I also attached a screenshot of the country list. The server I was looking for is in Estonia, which is not on the list. Any suggestions to what I can try?
  6. Hi I like to choose only one favourite server (with the green tick), so the server list has one server. What happens if i choose "lock current" and then that server is removed for maintenance. What does Eddie do next... does the server list become populated (caused by my green ticked server gone) and Eddie choose a random server? Or will Eddie stay disconnected with the server list be empty... until i choose a new favourite by green ticking a server so the list has a server in it? Thanks

  8. Hi, My operating system is Antix v.17, 32 bit (a lightweight Debian - Stretch based distro, with no systemd). For network managers, I have ceni and wicd. Firefox and Thunderbird are my primary internet applications. The system works very nicely, and will connect directly, or via AirVPN (using Eddie v.2.16.3). It also works well with the Windscribe cli application for Debian Linux. However, not long ago, I installed firejail (v.0.9.60) and apparmor. My practice is to run Firefox and Thunderbird in separate firejails. However, when either VPN (AirVPN or Windscribe) is active, there is no internet connection to either firejailed program. (Only one instance of Firefox runs at a time, either inside or outside of firejail.) I visited the firejail github support site. Apparently, there are ways to make firejail work with a vpn, but it's a bit confusing to me. I am relatively new to Linux... beginning to find my way around. But I have very limited understanding about network routing and configuration. I have also experimented with a couple of other openvpn VPN providers (both with Eddie v.2.18.7 and with direct openvpn connection). One of those services appears to form a tunnel, but the browser (not in firejail) did not find and use the new ip. At this point, I'll stick with AirVPN (and Windscribe, if I really need a server in a country that Air doesn't cover). Can you steer me in the right direction? Your help will be much appreciated!
  9. Hello again. After having my screen off for a bit of time, I'm not sure for how long, my connection to the VPN drops. I think we are talking about having the screen off for an hour or so, I'm not sure. How would I prevent this from happening? I have attached the part of the log which I believe says everything to see what is happening I especially think that these lines from the log can be useful: 01 Jan 2020 17:53:15 UTC [Error] OpenVPN3 KEEPALIVE_TIMEOUT: Eddie Library Session invalidated: KEEPALIVE_TIMEOUT 01 Jan 2020 17:53:15 UTC [Info] VPN error detected. 10. Hello community, Currently I am unable to login or establish a connection with eddie v2.16.3 on macOS 10.14 Mojave. The log is attached. Is anyone else having this issue? With Tunnelblick I can connect without issues.
  11. When I use the KDE VPN tool to add a server - it connects in seconds, but when using the Eddie client under both Linux & Windows, it takes forever to connect or disconnect. Why?
  12. So I installed a new printer yesterday....and then Eddie fell over, at precisely 1am. 😱 😱 😱😫😫😫 To install my new (wireless) printer I needed the HP smart app. This had to be downloaded from the Microsoft store; which promptly refused to accept that I was already connected to the internet (error-0x800704cf - "you'll need the internet for this" message) 🤬🤬. I found two sites which were both helpful: https://windowsreport.com/error-0x800704cf-pc-fix/ and https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/windows-store-not-working-while-running-on-a-vpn/90d51e9b-4f4c-4b63-b542-dfb1b6862239. 😇 I tried everything on the first site, to no avail. Then tried the second site and Microsoft Store started to work. I downloaded the app and the printer works. Happy days! 👍 . Summary of the advice is here: Go to: Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections Right-click the TAP network device for your VPN. Go to properties. Click Configure. click the Advanced tab Select "Media Status" Change Value to "Always connected" Click ok. Right-click the TAP network device for your VPN again. Go to properties. Click "internet services version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" Click Properties. Click Advanced. Tick the "Automatic Metric" boxClick ok. Click ok. Click Close. However....Later in the evening I try to complete a foreign payment with my bank. I've tried to complete this several times but the bank's website kept crashing. Tonight I get to the final password check... and everything freezes, at exactly 1 am (AST, 5am GMT). Eddie has just gone into a loop of connecting/disconnecting. This is hugely irritating and slightly suspicious given the timing (on the hour - don't know what was scheduled but something got checked or updated). Anyway to cut the story short, Setting the' Media status' (1st para of the summary above) back to 'Application Controlled' sorted the problem. Eddie started working immediately, without a reboot. 😍😍😍 Hope this helps someone.
  13. Can the "Ip change" be implemented in eddie every "x" minute? I mean "disconnection and reconnection with new ip" automatically. Example "Ipvanish"
  14. Hello. I just got my subscription for AirVPN recently and installed Eddie. Already, I find it trickier to work with in comparison to other VPN clients. I presume the Network Lock is Eddie's version of the killswitch. The problem I'm having is that whenever I activate the Network Lock, it completely kills my internet connection even though I am connected to an AirVPN server. Help please? Thanks.
  15. Hi there, I use Eddie software to connect airvpn in my windows 10 station (unattended windows version with a lot of service / app disable). The first time I tried to connect it worked great. But after a restart of the computer I was not able to connect at all, Eddie software try to join a server and immediately disconnect. But if I install OpenVPN Gui, it works again, I can connect with Eddie without problem. But as soon as I restart the computer, it cannot connect anymore. Do you have an idea from where my problem could be coming? Thanks in advance
  16. I have tried to use an ovpn-config from my pfsense with the Eddie-app. I have tried several client export formats on the pfsense, but Eddie does not accept the opvn-files. So I assume mulit-provider-suppurt is not available in the android app right now?
  17. Hello, I am running Ubuntu 18.04 with zerotier installed and using the eddie client(network lock enabled). Is there a way to have zerotier connected? Edit: Inside or outside airVPN would be fine.
  18. Hi. Pardon the newb question but when I go to install Eddie in my local user account.. the install runs flawlessly but Eddie gets installed under the Administrator account instead. There are no appearances of Eddie under the local user account. This is Windows 10 Home with all updates applied to today. What do I need to do so Eddie can be installed in or used from the local user account please? Many thanks. Ed
  19. I have changed the settings to use a different port other than 443, however using quick connect it still always connects to 443.
  20. How I can hide from website I am using vpn??
  21. I've set up a SystemD Service (See below), which works a treat, but are there other options that I should consider adding/using? [Unit] Wants=network-online.target After=network-online.target [Service] Type=simple ExecStart=eddie-ui --cli --netlock -login=NotMyUserName -password=NotMyPassword123 -connect --batch path=/etc/airvpn/ Restart=always RestartSec=10s [Install] WantedBy=default.target
  22. Hi - Was wondering if anyone could help me on this. EDDIE was taking about 12 attempts to connect each time previously, citing the 'IPv6 is disabled at OS level' message repeatedly, BUT it would eventually connect. I have since upgraded to 2.16.3 but must've done something to the settings, as now it just hangs and hangs, re-starting from server to server. I cannot connect to the internet either through EDDIE or outside of EDDIE, regardless of network lock status? Latest attempt logs show this: . 2019.04.06 16:53:22 - Eddie version: 2.16.3 / windows_x64, System: Windows, Name: Windows 10 Home, Version: Microsoft Windows NT 10.0.17134.0, Mono/.Net: v4.0.30319. 2019.04.06 16:53:22 - Reading options from C:\Program Files\AirVPN\default.xml. 2019.04.06 16:53:22 - Command line arguments (0):. 2019.04.06 16:53:22 - Profile path: C:\Program Files\AirVPN\default.xml. 2019.04.06 16:53:25 - OpenVPN Driver - TAP-Windows Adapter V9, version 9.21.2. 2019.04.06 16:53:25 - OpenVPN - Version: 2.4.6 - OpenSSL 1.1.0h 27 Mar 2018, LZO 2.10 (C:\Program Files\AirVPN\openvpn.exe). 2019.04.06 16:53:25 - SSH - Version: plink 0.67 (C:\Program Files\AirVPN\plink.exe). 2019.04.06 16:53:25 - SSL - Version: stunnel 5.40 (C:\Program Files\AirVPN\stunnel.exe). 2019.04.06 16:53:25 - curl - Version: 7.54.1 (C:\Program Files\AirVPN\curl.exe). 2019.04.06 16:53:25 - Certification Authorities: C:\Program Files\AirVPN\res\cacert.pem. 2019.04.06 16:53:26 - Updating systems & servers data ...I 2019.04.06 16:53:27 - Ready. 2019.04.06 16:53:27 - Systems & servers data update completed! 23. Hi members, Does anyone has an idea how to proceed to troubleshoot my Eddie crashing at startup on macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 ? Thanks for help, Z
  24. Hi, I recently purchased airvpn and have been using it on my 2nd gen firestick (so far an excellent vpn), however I run into one problem regularly: When using kodi or streaming generally after a certain amount of time (usually an hour or so) it will cut out and when I go to the Eddie client it has reset & I have to log in again. It's clear it's cutting out due to the network switching from VPN back to the normal connection. Is this because the firestick automatically closes apps due to memory management or do you think it's a problem with Eddie? In the case of the former is there any way to force apps to stay open permanently in the background or is this something that would need root? Thanks for your help
  25. Hi, After I started to run the Eddie for Android I noticed that I was not getting any messages or calls in Signal Messenger. I also had problems with some apps on my Android Wear watch like weather that wouldn't update. As soon as I closed the VPN connection I got a stream of Signal messages and notifications and the weather app on my watch worked again. This makes it totally impractical for me to use the Eddie for Android if that setting is enabled. So I decided to disable it and get a serious warning that security was compromised. I have used the OpenVPN Connect app with AirVPN for a while without such problems. Maybe that client doesn't have the Persistent Tunnel settings? Anyway, if it turns out I have to have Persistent Tunnel set I just can't use Eddie for Android since apps and services I use all day just doesn't work. There should be a warning that the Persistent Tunnel setting may cause apps and services to not work on the phone. I now run without it and feel compromised but do not know whether I'm more compromised than I was using the OpenVPN Connect client or other VPN services on Android. Could someone who knows more about these things than I do please clarify and explain the thinking behind the setting and the warning when it's being disabled. //C
