  1. I have a couple of questions regarding AirVPN and OS X: 1) What are the pros and cons of using the Eddie client vs. Tunnelblick? 2) Is Eddie compatible with OS X 10.10 (Yosemite)? Thanks.
  2. The configuration isn't saved and no registry entry created with client 2.9.0 No AV or other security software installed. I manually fixed this problem. anyways can someone confirm this bug with XP? regards
  3. Hey, After logging in I used to be able to connect to any of the servers. I would select TCP over port 443 to connect. But recently the version of the client I have stopped working. When I try to log in it says "The client is obsolete and no longer supported". So I went and downloaded the latest version. I can log in fine and see the server list, but I can't connect to any of them. I keep getting an "Checking info 1, 2, 3... unable to connect to the remote host error". It then keeps doing this over and over trying to connect. I have tried to connect with many servers and always get the same result.
  4. Hi all, I encountered a rather annoying bug. I wrote a shell script that I want to execute every time the VPN tunnel is up. My test script (which does nothing more than echoing text to a test text file) works fine when I set it up under Advanced -> Events -> App Start, App End, Session Start, Session End, VPN Pre, VPN Down but not VPN Up! When I choose to run a script on VPN Up (tested with and without waiting for the script to end) the following happens: Latency tests Checking authorization Restart in 3 seconds Connecting to server Checking route (request timed out) And this goes on and on, the VPN never actually connects. I assume there is a little bug in the VPN Up event. Hopefully this can be fixed in the next version. Best regards
  5. Hi all, I have the Linux AirVPN Eddie Client 2.8.8 running on Lubuntu. When I try to "Save As" the log files from the GUI it defaults to a "Desktop" directory. As you can see on the attached screenshot, I saved a log file called AirVPN_log.txt. However, it seems that this is not really my desktop. The saved file doesn't show up on my desktop and other files that are on my desktop don't show up in the "Save As" Desktop folder... From the "Save As" dialog I can not navigate to any folder that is familiar to me. There is also no way to open, delete or move files already saved (like the AirVPN_log.txt file). My question is: where does AirVPN save these log files? I can not find the AirVPN_log.txt anywhere on my system, still the Eddie Client seems to have saved it somewhere. Thanks in advance

  7. Hi, I would like to access AirVPN through the command line on my Mac (OSX). Is this possible? Is there a command line interface (CLI)? Do I need to install OpenVPN first? Thank you.
  8. Eddie 2.7 and 2.8; Linux Mint 17.1: From /user/bin, I invoked ./airvpn, which produced the following output: Unhandled Exception: System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path "/home/*/.airvpn/logs/airvpn_2015-01-07.log" is denied. I fixed the problem by taking ownership of the logs directory (chown) and removing the logs. Quick fix, but could be troublesome for a novice user. Thanks for the service! All the best
  9. Hi There, I just realized im still running 2.4. When I try to donwload from airvpn.org/linux selecting .deb 32bit, the downloaded version is still 2.4. I'm not sure if the code is actually 2.7, but at least the debian package states version 2.4. Cheers, Martin
  10. Hi, I'm using the Airvpn Mac client, and all works well, except that when I disconnect the client, I find that my network connection hangs (Chrome shows "resolving...", maybe a DNS thing?) until I bounce the network interface. Any ideas why that might be? Anyone else having a similar issue? For now, bouncing it isn't terribly painful (I set it inactive, apply, then active, apply in Network prefs), but I'd like to get to the bottom of it. Thanks.
  11. Hi, I'm on Mac OS X Mavericks and with neither Tunnelblick, nor the AirVPN client a connection to the Spanish server Nihal is possible. The AirVPN client automatically "recommends" (=connects) me a different server (usually Dutch) after not managing to connect to Nihal, while Tunnelblick doesn't connect to Nihal either. All other servers I tried seem to be working just fine. The availability of Spanish servers was a condition for choosing AirVPN and I was not amused when the servers got deleted some weeks ago. When the Spanish location reappeared I was very happy, as I rely on Spanish servers for TV reasons. Does this happen to everyone here trying to connect to that server or is it only me having that problem? In any case, I would highly appreciate any help. Regards
  12. What are the dependencies to get the AirVPN Linux client to work? I was apparently able to install the client with the .deb, but nothing happens when I try to execute it, so I figure that probably means some dependencies are missing.
  13. I've been using the Eddie client for a while now but I can not get it to work over ssh or ssl. I keeps disconnecting and reconnect repeating a cycle that creates a bunch of processes. 6/11/2014 - 9:55 PM AirVPN client version: 2.1, System: Linux, Architecture: x64 6/11/2014 - 9:55 PM Reading options from /home/klepto/AIR/AirVPN.xml 6/11/2014 - 14. Hi, Just started with AirVPN. The VPN I am currently subscribed to, its term is ending this month. AirVPN looks really good. Considering switching to it when the current tem ends. Btw, off topic, it wasn't easy figuring out that there is a beta Eddie client for Windows. The `Enter` page links to the old 1.92 client. The 2.1 client is way way way better than the 1.92 client. The 1.92 client was a huge shock Anyway, getting to the topic, I didn't see any settings for auto-update in the Windows client. Is this built-in? When you release 2.2 or whichever is the next version, will I be notified automatically or do I need to keep following this forum? Regards, Amith
  15. Having this issues for the past 4 hours, the client connects as usual, shows the server's IP with activity at 0 kB/sec (download/upload) and if i check the IP with one of the many what's my IP websites I see I'm not actually connected to the VPN, even the status at airvpn.com says not connected, I tried different servers, same thing. Any idea? Thanks
  16. I am having a problem connecting. When I open the AirVPN client and click the "Login" button, I get the following error message: "Sorry, no server is available for you at the moment." This started about three days ago and I have restarted my computer in the interim several times. I am running Windows 7 Pro with all current system updates. I am unsure of how to proceed. Any help would be appreciated.
  17. I'm not sure if anyone else would find this useful, but I threw together a simple script the other day for speeding up the process of configuring and managing my VPN connections on my desktop (Linux Mint). Note that this is far from comprehensive--I made it with my use cases in mind. https://github.com/mindcruzer/airvpn-cli ex. ~$ airvpn setup pavonis --connect Would prompt you for your username and password, generate the configuration, save it and set the appropriate permissions, then start the openvpn daemon. There are a few other useful commands as well.
  18. I've read around some concerns about AirVPN client, stating that when VPN connection drops the Client would not show this up. Basically some people state that it's impossible to understand if the connection has dropped from the client. I am not concerned about DNS leaks but more about letting my real IP being exposed. My question is: in case of VPN disconnection (whenever it happens) is this going be logged by the client or not? Thanks.
  19. Great service, I read many reviews of competing services and decided upon AirVPN and I couldnt be happier. I tried the AirVPN client and it worked like a charm, 29Mbps down and 4.5Mbps just shy of my normal connection speed. I currently have my DD-WRT router configured for 24/7 AirVPN usage, even though I dont see the same speeds as with the AirVPN client, router limitation, I am very satisfied with 24/7 VPN.
  20. Hi The login stage of the AirVPN client seems to be a bit of a mystery. Never seen the first stage described in such an unclear way. However, as someone involved in open-source, the solution is often a clear forum post that others having the same issue will fine. So, as well as solving the issue for me, it could help others (I'm an IT person, so if it confuses me, it will likely confuse some others). After installing and running AirVPN on Windows, I am presented with a box which contains login and password. The instructions here: https://airvpn.org/windows/ state: "Download and run the AirVPN client. It requires Administrator access to the PC" This could mean two things: 1) the Windows 'need to run as administrator" box might pop up, which requires the user to confirm (and / or enter the Windows administrator login details) 2) that this AitVPN box is asking for the Windows administratot login and password. ----- Just for the sake of making sure, I tried both my AirVPN login (with username and email in login part) and Windows login deails, and neither worked. More importantly, if this is asking for Windows administrator login details, why? Perhaps in this case a statement regarding why this is needed would help here. ----- So, I imagine that the AirVPN Windows help page shown above will make a lot of people nervous about using AirVPN. It made me do more research, because I found the statement 'requires Administrator access' with no explanation to be suspicious, I am not comfortable having to post this on a public forum. But I do hope this post will be useful to others. To AirVPN staff, is it possible to get a refund?
  21. Hello, I'm already some time here but I still can't find out what todo against this error: Can someone help me?
  22. I'm using the windows 64-bit client and I can't login because the terms of service aren't displaying properly (blank page). I can't accept TOS without reading them first. Right clicking on the blank page tells me it's trying to load https://airvpn.org/services/tos.php
