  1. Servers Metallah and Alkaid (...could be others as well) seem to be blocking torrent port 6970, as I receive the error message from my torrent client "No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it." when trying to seed torrents from a particular site I frequently use on a regular basis. And yet, when I switch over and use another AirVPN server like Almach in Canada, the torrents seed just fine, no problem, no error message. I've been troubleshooting with the administrators of the torrent site, and they say that there are no problems on their end, that their tracker is working just fine, and that there are no issues with my account. Their recommendation is that there may be an issue with my VPN. That's why I tried connecting my torrent client through a couple of different AirVPN servers when I discovered what seems to be a problem with some of the AirVPN servers blocking torrent port 6970. I normally connect my torrent client using Metallah (...or one of the other US servers), but for the past 24 hours or so this has not been possible. What do you think could be going on?
  2. I am a new user of AirVPN. I am using the Bittorent client. I have established a VPN connection and the client works fine. Files download, upload and the incoming connections token is green. I check my IP with a Google search for the whole computer and it reports the AirVPN exit point ip. I check the ip of the torrent client with both checkmytorrentip and ipleak and they both report the AirVPN exit point ip. ipleak also correctly reports the listening port from my torrent client, even though I did not specifically forward it. I have the option to "automatically map listening port via NAT and UPnP" unchecked in the torrent client to prevent it from trying to map the port forward. Question: Is it necessary to specifically forward the listening port to a port in AirVPN? The whole system seems to work fine without it. Am I missing something?
  3. Despite trying multiple ports (UDP 443, UDP 80, UDP 53), my in-tunnel speeds are significantly lower than out-tunnel speeds. Per attached Speed Test results, Download speeds are ~19 Mb/sec out of tunnel and only ~12 Mb/sec in the tunnel. I'm using the Eddie client on Mac OS Yosemite, machine is a MacBook Pro 2015. Both Router and client are 802.11N. -I don't think Comcast is throttling my network and even if they are, the throttling should affect both in and out of tunnel speeds. -I've tried the SSH and SSL ports and the In-Tunnel speeds on those are closer to 8 Mb/s...lower than my UDP ports. -Also tried TCP ports and as expected, speeds are lower than UDP ports. Any suggestions or explanations for the large gap between my in and out tunnel speeds would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Down: 19.032 Mbit/s Out, 11.900 Mbit/s In (62%), 20MB - Up: 5.469 Mbit/s Out, 5.213 Mbit/s In (95%), 20MB - Date: Thu, 11 Jun 2015 03:46:43 GMT - Buffers: 20MB/20MB - Laps: 10, Time: 423.95 secs Down: 20.546 Mbit/s Out, 12.207 Mbit/s In (59%), 20MB - Up: 0.347 Mbit/s Out, 3.792 Mbit/s In (1091%), 1MB - Date: Thu, 11 Jun 2015 04:03:37 GMT - Buffers: 20MB/1MB - Laps: 10, Time: 398.30 secs
  4. Hi there, I've been using the AirVPN service now for several weeks and its been great! Due to my ISP (VirginMedia) throttling VPN connections, I've been using the SSL/SSH Tunnels to get through. None the less they still apply a general throttle of 2 MB/s to all encrypted connections. After having done a bit of testing with one of my servers, I realised that the throttling is not done across the whole spectrum of ports, only ports 1 to 1024. For anything higher, in my test case 5432, there was no more throttling being applied. Would it be possible to have the SSH/SSL tunnels connecting over a port greater than 1024, in addition to the current ones (22, 52, 80, and 443)? Thanks!
  5. Hey..I have recently (and happily) moved to Ubuntu and "re-upped" my membership with AirVPN. One issue. My ISP is blocking some of my ports so downloading the required dependances or accessing the repository either by Synaptic, the Software Updater or the Ubuntu Software Center. I am looking for a workaround, I cant seem to find how to switch ports or download a full copy of Airvpn dependancies so I can get this to work. Thanks!
  6. Hello! ubuntu 14.04LTS Is there a simple way to bypass the vpn for plex or rather a specific port? I need a direct connection to my dedicated server for plex. Any help is very much appreciated. Thx! edit: I found a simple solution for ubuntu. Now, I use an ubuntu lxc-container for everything that I want to do with AirVPN (openvpn). The main system does not connect to AirVPN, thus I can easily establish a direct connection with my plex server. I know this should be possible with firewall rules and routes, but this is a good option for me.
  7. Hey can someone please help me ! I have tried twice on two different Ip's to port forward and both times it has failed .
  8. Greetings, I am attempting to forward a port through the client interface on the website to use for P2P. I choose TCP/UDP and a port, which was available, and it says it is forwarded. However, when I hit the button to "Check" the little light stays grey and says "Not reachable on server IP over the external port XXXXX, tcp protocol. Error : 110 - Connection timed out - Checked 0 seconds ago". I am connected to AirVPN at the time. I tried disabling Windows Firewall, which I can't imagine has anything to do with it, and also the SIP firewall on my router. Also have it set to open. Doesn't make a difference. I am also getting messages in Vuse that I am firewalled, even though I have set the static inbound port properly to what I forwarded on the website. Something clearly isn't happening but I am at a loss.
  9. Short question, probably short answer... Can i use the ssh tunnel port 22 protocol with a dd-wrt router? Thanks!
  10. I've been messing around with quite a few different options, and it seems to me that this would be the easier one? The service I use would only be going through one port, 119, although I have a bunch of other things I still need to access remotely, plus keep up their speeds. Instead of using a VPN on my entire server and port forwarding a bunch of things, wouldn't it be better to tunnel/encrypt traffic for just that one port? If so, how would I go about doing that?
  11. Hi there, I want to open a specific port [ no matter which one it is ] as my ISP is blocking all of them! But when I connect to AirVPN servers ( I already port forwarded from the client area as in the screenshot ). But when using CanYouSeeMe.org it appears that no port is open. But I used "http://www.ipfingerprints.com/portscan.php" and it seems that port number 88 is open. So, what's the deal? Will I be able to bypass the ISP block?
  12. Can i use osiris while i'm connected by your vpn? if yes what port i must set on osiris? because in osiris i can't visit any portal for this error: P.S. I'm using ubuntu 12.04
  13. I have a problem with Utorrent and uploading. My internet connection is 50/50 fiber and gives me these speeds. I didn't expect this for VPN, but I do actually get decent download speeds, so that's good. However, I do not manage to upload much at all. I have forwarded a port on from your web-console: 35295. This has then been setup as the listening port in Utorrent. I have turned off all portforwarding for this port or utorrent on the router. Your web-console shows thee port as open, but Utorrent setup guide reports that port is not open. Utorrent seems to be conflicting itself, cause the little checkmark in the bottom right corner turns green. The max speed i have seen uploading so far has been 250kbps or so, very sad story and not usable. I have included 3 screenshots showing my settings, utorrent status and your web-console. I have tried disabling my Comodo firewall just to see if it makes a difference, but it did not. I only use AirVPN for torrents at the moment, so I don't have it enabled all the time. What am I doing wrong, and what can I do to solve it?
  14. Hello. I'm trying to connect to a Teamspeak server, and in the makers of Teamspeak in all their glory have decided to refuse their users to change ports in the client. And sadly, the port 9987 is already reserved on AirVPN so I can't connect to the service. Is there a way to get TS to connect? Maybe route the client around your VPN-software somehow?
