  1. I've searched on this forum for multiple suggestions and nothing is working....... I Created a new port, Put said port in ubittorrent port listening box... made sure UPnP is off/random port is off. Pressed okay. tested port thru airvpn port client area.... message i got back is connection timeout.. checked on canyouseeme.org, got a connection timeout. YET im downloading the torrent however at VERY slow speeds. (200mb/s) I did the process again, but this time i left the box open when i created a port so it can create a random one, and i entered it in bittorrent client, and same as above happened... connection refused. What am i doing wrong???? im selecting UDP+TCP for port. is that right?
  2. Hi all, The screenshot below shows the struggles I've been having with AirVPN, since I bought a subscription yesterday My internet connection is 30 mbit, but I already know from experience without vpn that the provider delivers a consistent 10 mbit connection (something they won't fix), However, since I joined AirVPN the p2p capacity has grinded to a halt! Using a private torrent subscription, I normally download 1mb/s, and I still seem to be able to reach those speeds for a few minutes per hour, but the rest of the time the speeds are reduced to 50kb/s max. I've set up Deluge to only listen on a specific port, which I received through this website, but it seems to no avail. Looking at the eddie log, it appears that the slowdown either started or ended around the 9:50 mark (I wasn't tracking when I took the screenshots), and would really like to consistently receive quicker speeds. Is there anything I can try? I've already tried a few different servers and did the general reading-up on the forum.
  3. Good, I currently have problems with my operator that does not allow me to open ports, your vpn service has port forwarding I want to work with no-ip, I hope your answer, thank you.
  4. I have airvpn setup and my Thunderbird account is receiving and sending mail through gmail port 995 and 465. Is this secure? Does google see my home IP? I want to use the ports allocated from airvpn but could not get it working, and read that google only works with the ports above. Any advice? Do I need a new email server if I want to remain anonymous? Than you.
  5. I use qbittorrent and read it is safer to untick the "upnp... port forwarding from router" box in qbittorrent options. I know people do this for safety reasons but exactly how does it enhance security? I usually have this unticke. However, I just recently reinstalled windows, etc. and ran qbitorrent for a night with the option accidentally left ticked. What kind of exposure am I potentially looking at here? Was I still protected? (note: I use btguard proxy in addition to airvpn and have the proxy set up inside the qbitorrent options ) Thanks! Dewey
  6. I searched the forums a little bit, and didn't see any mention of this, but something that would be really awesome would be to expose the ability to see what ports are currently forwarded, and add or remove ports through the API, if possible. Maybe I'm missing something, but this seems like a killer feature.
  7. I use an old music sharing application called Soulseek which needs a couple of ports opened. I set up 2 ports in the members area, removed them from the port forwarding section of my router, changed the listening port in the application and allowed traffic through those ports in Windows firewall (Win 10). However, with the VPN active Soulseek can't use the listening port unless I turn off the firewall. When the firewall is off everything works okay so the ports are set up okay with AirVPN. What am I doing wrong? Many thanks for any help.
  8. Hi all, I am trying to set up an airvpn using DD-WRT. I was able to connect to the server and successfully using OpenVPN function, however, I was not able to use port forwarding function. When I disabled airvpn on my DD-WRT and used app, I was able to check that the port was open. When I set up VPN on DD-WRT for some reason port forwarding does not work. In order to verify that vpn was indeed connected, I used overview on client area. I also check the port was open using forwarded ports. Does anyone have a suggestion how I might be able to open the port? P.S When I first installed DD-WRT, I was not able to open a port using forwarded port(both router and app). I quickly realized that I also had to port forward on the router too.
  9. It seems that for P2P clients I need to setup some kind of port forwarding here: https://airvpn.org/ports/ Pretty confused as to what this does and how it should be setup. I've read up about here: https://airvpn.org/faq/port_forwarding/ but it hasn't really made things any clearer. Say for example I use transmission or utorrent and have the port set at 9797. On my router I set port 9797 to then be forwarded to the same port on a specific local IP address. Do I then need to go to the AirVPN port forwarding page and set both the port and the local port to 9797 too? What about DDNS? Do I have to change or update this every time I switch servers? How does AirVPN know to always forward traffic from that port to me no matter which server I'm on? Bare in mind the company doesn't keep any logs or records
  10. Hello, (Take note my skills and knowledge about computer networking are very basic and English is not my native language, so please bear with me). I am a new user of ZeroNet and I would like to create my own site there. In their FAQ (do I need to have a port opened) I am told to open port 15441. I understand from your own FAQ that I should not forward a port from my ISP router itself, but only from my Client Area on AirVpn.org. When I try to do so I've got a message : "Port 15441 already reserved by another user." The problem is I always keep my torrent client running in the background and my computer is set to forbid any internet connection whenever I am not using your excellent service. Therefore, for me to be able to create my site on ZeroNet and to update it at will, I would have to switch to a distinct connection (out of the VPN) and to manually reconfigure and reboot my router every time I wish to do so, and solely for this purpose. My router being three floors away from my computer this is out of question. Do you have any suggestions other than to give up torrenting? Many thanks in advance for your kind help in this matter.
  11. Hi, I'm trying to activate several services through the VPN. My machine is a Raspberry Pi running Raspbian. I'd like to get at least Deluge, DelugeWeb, Couchpotato, Headphones and Sickrage working. FTP would be covenient as well. As far as I understood, I should use port forwarding, shouldn't I ? So let's take DelugeWeb as an example. Ir works perfectly on my LAN, and I access it with thee default port 8112 on my RPi's local IP. So I tried to set : in AirVPN : a TCP/UDP port forwarding from 50812 to 50812on my routeur : a TCP port forwarding from 50812 to my RPi's local IP, port 8112But I can't get a green light. Did I miss someting ?
  12. So I uninstalled my Bitdefender because the licence was up recently and everything has been faster... except my airvpn speeds. I used to be able to easily get 5+ up down but now I'm barely breaking 100KB/s with and without Network lock on and my regular network speeds have remained the same so I don't know what's up at all. If you need any extra details I'll be sure to post them.
  13. Hi all, I recently went from 1Mbps service to using my cricket wireless via usb tethering which is 8Mbps (not fast but best i can get where i am). I want to use AirVPN to hide the fact that I am tethering since on the "unlimited" plan they don't let you tether (I am not rooted but am using Foxfi to bypass this). my problem is that I have downloaded OpenVPN for android and installed it on my phone while following the instructions on this site, but have no knowledge of how to port forward anything, the few instructions I have tried to follow as well as multiple google searches have produced nothing but aggravation, I'm sure it's something very simple that I'm not doing or configuring correctly. Any kind of assistance with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  14. My hardward/firmware: Router ModelLinksys WRT 1200AC Firmware VersionDD-WRT v3.0-r28788 std (01/13/16)Kernel VersionLinux 3.18.25 #59 SMP Mon Jan 11 11:48:34 CET 2016 armv7l My goal: To open ports 8000 and 8001 on my router to allow shoutcast server to livestream from static ip 192.168.10.172 on the network. Hi, After reading https://airvpn.org/external_link/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dd-wrt.com%2Fwiki%2Findex.php%2FIptables_command%23Port_Forwarding_to_a_specific_LAN_IP and also being told that the GUI interface only forwards from WAN to LAN and not from TUN to LAN... it seems this is my last obstacle to streaming with Shoutcast. I still haven't been able to get IPTABLES to work for me yet. I tried different variations of the commands, but nothing worked for me... then I didn't know if I was putting the right information into the variables. Has anyone with this or similar dd-wrt set up successfully added open ports to your router firewall using IPTABLES? If so, can I see how your commands look? Currently, all I have for my firewall commands are, Firewall iptables -I FORWARD -i br0 -o tun0 -j ACCEPT iptables -I FORWARD -i tun0 -o br0 -j ACCEPT iptables -I INPUT -i tun0 -j REJECT iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -o tun0 -j MASQUERADE What else should be there to open port 8000 and 8001 to the static IP listed above? Thanks for any help and directions.
  15. I started the 3 day trial of AirVPN to test out its port forwarding, if it worked well I was willing to switch over from PIA but after looking around for the past few days I could not find a guide for port forwarding AirVPN on pfSense 2.3 that would work for me. I would like to address that first but I also need a solution to my chromecast no longer works even though everything else on the network seems to work fine. If there is any other information required from me I would be more than happy to provide it.
  16. Hi, I have a Mofi 4500-4GXeLTE-SIM4 V2 4G/LTE Router (this is a router combined with the cellular radio) connected to Verizon (ISP). First question I hope it's an easy one, can I configure AirVPN on the Mofi router itself, so any device connected will always use VPN? Second question is about port forwarding. To this router I'm planning to connect a surveillance camera system that it's a dedicated appliance (not an actual computer from what I can see) and I need to be able to access from outside. I need to open ports 80, 5445 and 5446. Reading some information it seems that AirVPN cannot do port forwarding below port 2048, is there any workaround so I can see port 80 from outside? Third question is about the static public IP address, I assume I don't get a static address from AirVPN, so I guess I have to use a Dynamic DNS to gain access to the camera system, right? Your help is much appreciated.
  17. Hi folks, I have a QNAP NAS and am connected to AirVPN on the QNAP itself (NOT using Eddie or Router config) using "kradsith" guide here (AirVPN instructions at bottom of page 2); http://forum.qnap.com/viewtopic.php?f=231&t=102248&hilit=vpn+client&start=15 All good! Connected fine and getting good speeds etc. I have also set up two Port Forwards; 1 for plex (working fine - green TCP Test) and one for the QTS Admin console which by default uses port 8080. However the port forwarding for this port shows as yellow. I have removed the port forwarding to this port in my router but unsure why this shows as yellow. The port forwarding works fine i.e. I can use my own DDNS name with the AirVPN generated port and see my console but concerned that I have a leak as it currently is. I guess I could try amending the console port from 8080 from within QNAP QTS Console and try fort forwarding again but reluctant to do that until I know why the TCP test shows as yellow. Some other information which may be pertinent is I have port forwarding in my router for Sickrage, NZBGet, Couchpotato, Headphones, Transmission, (I'm not actually sure if I need ANY of these to be accessible from the internet as suspect they working fine together on the LAN as they are all hosted on my NAS/QNAP). Could anyone provide me with any pointers, ideas, solutions? Thanks in advance!
  18. Router = Asus RT-AC87R Using AVG 2015 I'm trying to run a server for Minecraft PE. I have forwarded a random port, but the port keeps saying connection refused. I'm using PocketMine-MP to run the server and it also has a server.config which I'm pretty sure is set up correctly. I thought getting a vpn would fix the issue, but it hasn't. Maybe I'm missing something. Any help will be appreciated.
  19. I have a couple of questions regarding port forwarding. One - I saw this line - but it isn't explained in the FAQ page: Watch for warnings from our security check: a red token implies that your anonymity layer may be lowered or broken by a malicious adversary. What does this mean exactly? Where would I find this red token and what exactly could it mean? Also - is there any additional setup required after forwarding a specific port, or will this be automatic whenever connecting through the client? And lastly - for Dynamic DNS - is there a specific naming convention I should be following for this when coming up with a name? Thanks in advance, I know this is several questions. KR
  20. Hi guys My problem is the following: I have port forwarding enabled on my airvpn, and I can ssh without problem with the command ssh -p myport user@myhost.airdns.org from home or from my cellphone. Now the problem is that at work myport is locked by the corporate firewall, and for all I can see all the other useful myports are... Port 22 is instead open... is there a way to go around the firewall? Please let me know. Thanks a lot
  21. I'm getting an error while trying to use the remote port forwarding feature. "Not reachable on server IP over the external port XXXXX, tcp protocol. Error : 111 - Connection Refused - Checked 0 seconds ago." I'm using the VPN on my DD-WRT router, and the "Forwarded to:" IP doesn't match mine. Does anyone know what happened?
  22. I have installed OpenVPN client on my FreeBSD file server at home. I've used 'other' config file and it's working fine, I can ssh out to my work servers, browse the web and all that good stuff, my external IP is obviously the open AirVPN assigned to my vpn connection. tun0: flags=8051<UP,POINTOPOINT,RUNNING,MULTICAST> metric 0 mtu 1500 options=80000<LINKSTATE> inet6 fe80::214:d1ff:fe1d:3bbb%tun0 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x6 inet 10.4.12.51 --> 10.4.0.1 netmask 0xffff0000 I've forwarded two ports, one for torrents, and one for ssh. Neither port is working. For example, I've setup 56602 for torrents. I've started transmission, and it's listening on the port in question: # netstat -an | grep 56602tcp6 0 0 *.56602 *.* LISTENtcp4 0 0 10.4.12.51.56602 *.* LISTENudp4 0 0 10.4.12.51.56602 *.* # lsof -p 52166 | grep 56602transmiss 52166 transmission 9u IPv4 0xfffff8001e4e8c00 0t0 TCP 10.4.12.51:56602 (LISTEN)transmiss 52166 transmission 10u IPv6 0xfffff8003f3fe000 0t0 TCP *:56602 (LISTEN)transmiss 52166 transmission 11u IPv4 0xfffff8000e44d580 0t0 UDP 10.4.12.51:56602 I do see incoming packets on tun0: # tcpdump -i tun0 port 56602... 18:06:06.853682 IP ********.56966 > 10.4.12.51.56602: Flags , seq 644910569, win 8192, options [mss 1352,nop,wscale 2,nop,nop,sackOK], length 018:06:07.132328 IP ********.53676 > 10.4.12.51.56602: Flags , seq 2949838881, win 8192, options [mss 1352,nop,nop,sackOK], length 0...18:06:06.759788 IP ********.18848 > 10.4.12.51.56602: UDP, length 2018:06:06.820983 IP ********.58101 > 10.4.12.51.56602: UDP, length 20... But nothing going back from my host (I've replaced actual ips with '********'). My firewall is open: # ipfstat -i | grep 56602pass in quick on tun0 inet from any to 10.4.12.51/32 port = 56602 Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?
  23. hey everyone, i'm pretty new to this and i'm getting the following error when trying to connect: cannot login (curl: (7) failed to connect to 127.0.0.1 port 9150: connection refused) it worked fine previously when i was with comcast, but after moving to a house with centurylink i'm now getting this. might anyone here know the step i will need to get through it?
  24. Hello, I have installed and configured OpenVPN on OpenWRT and it works with the interface tun0 configured such that OpenVPN automatically starts on bootup of OpenWRT and if there is no VPN connection then the Lan-network cannot access the WAN, only OpenVPN when it is up and running. But I have a problem with Port Forwarding. I have "made" a forwarded port in the Client area of Airvpn. But when I have my program up and running using that port it is not accessable and also clicking on the "check" button from Aivpn of the port shows it is not accessible. Does anybody know and can help we with setting up a correct port forwarding in OpenWRT for the VPN? I have tried but nothing did succeed
  25. Hello, I do not have very advanced networking knowledge, but things have worked well for me until now. I recently decided to switch from uTorrent, which had been working well, to qBittorrent. In the AirVPN client settings, I added an open port. I then opened qBittorrent and added this port number to the Incoming Connections field. I also unchecked the uPnP box in qBittorrent, per instructions I've seen around here. When I run the port check on this port on the AirVPN site, it gives a green light. Also, the website http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ says that this port is now open. However, no torrents are working. All of the trackers return the status "Not working" whenever I try any torrent. Am I missing something? Suggestions are appreciated. Thank you!
