  1. Any advice greatly appreciated on this subject as i am not of a high level of understanding when it comes to networking in Linux iptables! When connected to a vpn server through Eddie on a Ubuntu based Linux OS i always use the network lock feature in Eddie. This should lock the Linux iptables to stop any traffic outside the vpn tunnel. When i use any IP check service, or torrent address checker, (e.g ipleak.net) they always come back with no leaks. However, whilst torrenting, if i use the NETSTAT command in the terminal, i can see established connections to IP addresses matching the IP's of peers I'm connected to in my torrent client! I thought that the only ip i should see in netstat should be the VPN server NOT the peers as i shouldn't be connected to them directly? Am i leaking my IP outside the tunnel or should i expect to see bittorrent peer ip addresses in netstat when using the vpn? Thank you!
  2. Hello, I run a small media server at home so I can listen to my music on the go. I've decided to try running it though the VPN, but I'm not sure exactly how to do it. These are the settings I currently have, and they don't seem to be working. Any help at all would be appreciated. The Emby server runs on two ports by default. 8096 for HTTP, and 8920 for HTTPS. My settings on Emby show the following. Local http port number: 8096 Local http port number: 8920 public http port number: 8098 public http port number: 8928 remote access http://my.airvpnserver.exitip :8098 local access 192.168.X.X:8096 There is also an option to specify the ip to bind to. If I bind it to the 10.X.X.X from AirVPN, only the local access ip changes. On my AirVPN settings, I have 8098 forwarded to local 8096. And 8928 forwarded to 8920. Neither of them have a green light. My router is set to forward ports 8096 and 8920 to my computers normal address 192.168.X.X Here are pictures in case they help any: https://i.gyazo.com/e64f7e207204a9f1e8e4f16f457f177d.png https://i.gyazo.com/9bc9c53feab3fe4f4324d99b8abc163c.png https://i.gyazo.com/bc494db4a4a9982879505be793c40008.png https://i.gyazo.com/27f6b3f63d3722f46b06df933295bcb6.png https://i.gyazo.com/2f9559e99660781275cd3b52245e86b5.png
  3. Hello folks, I have setup my Netgear R6250 with DD-WRT, and OpenVPN connecting to AirVPN. This is all well and good, but now I'd like to somehow be able to choose which traffic is inside or outside the tunnel, either by source IP/subnet, port, destination host, or some other way. A GUI to accomplish this would be wonderful, but not essential. I am open to adding additional devices to perform such functions if that's necessary. I've read many (many many) myriad forum posts and wikis offering differing, conflicting ways to accomplish this using DNSMasq, iptables, Policy based routing, Source based routing, pfSense, and apple pie (I made one of these up). I think much of this is due to the various versions of dd-wrt available, the wonderful various options available to the power user to configure the way they want it, and that there's several different approaches that may or may not work on any given hardware. What that equals for me is confusion. Its my intention to set this up, and document the process in a way that's easy to follow, and add my own experiences to those already floating on the intertubes. Ideally I'd accomplish it with just some dd-wrt trickery. So far the solutions I've found have been written with a specific setup in mind that I'm unable to adapt to my setup, or they just didn't work (or I didn't understand them). It'd be great if we can talk through it together, and rejoice together in our shared insight and accomplishment.
  4. When I am connected to AirVPN I can’t connect to the external storage on my Western Digital My TV Media Player. I must disconnect AirVPN before I can transfer files over the network. Any idea why this might be?
  5. Hi AirVPN Forums, Love The Service!. Ok, Well this is my Enquiry, is there a way to Exclude an IP Address on the router, & put it outside the VPN Connection. for example, My laptop is 192.168.1.8 & Thats happily running within VPN. BUT i want 192.168.1.200 To be Outside of this zone & be able to access the internet with 0 VPN Connection.. So it will show the ISP's Provided IP Address.. Sorry if this question is somewhat vague & Badly Formatted. Thanks. Stan464. More INFO Router: Netgear WNR834B DD/FW: DD-WRT OpenVPN Build. GWIP: 192.168.1.1 ISPGW:192.168.0.1
