  1. So I have a DD-WRT router running in Openvpn client mode via my Airvpn account. I have setup forwarded ports in my airvpn account which work on my devices running their own airvpn client. However, I can't get any open ports to forward through the router to my Windows machine running apps that need the open ports. I've seen the notice on the help page for port forwarding: " you can't reach your listening service(s) through the VPN server exit-IP address from the very same machine that's running it/them and is connected to a VPN server, or from any other machine connected to that same VPN server." My interpretation of this statement is that my DD-WRT router running in vpn client mode, can't forward ports nor can my windows machine connected to my router access those ports. I'm struggling to really understand this restriction and why it is so. I have turned off all router and windows firewalls. The only way I can use forwarded ports is to run a windows client on my windows machine, which defeats having a dedicated vpn router. I have experimented over a month with commands for iptables using the router UI and other posts in the community to no avail. I hate to give up, but I'm out of solutions. Any simple answers and replies would be appreciated. I'm tech savy but not a guru.
  2. Hello, Server Side(the computer where EMBY software is installed) Name it embymyairvpnserver as an example. You can pick any name you want, for your EMBY server if available. After you config this in Port Forwarding in your account/profile @ airvpn.org. -------------------------- localport: 8096 forwarded port: 34567(e.g.) or pick your own. -------------------------- Server Side Comodo FW Rule(image example) Updated. Use it for embyserver.exe and embytray.exe. emby.server.allowed.address in Network Zones-->contains all your clients IPs which you define as range(184.75.0.0-184.75.255.255) or single address. Server Side -- AirVPN server you connect to make sure it is close to your location(latency/speed*) *Upload speed is what matters here. EMBY Server Side --- Rotating Servers Option 1.(Use Option2 if you don't want/wish/have to task kill and re-start EMBY). EMBY.rotate.openvpn.servers.at.time.specified.bat.zip ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. CHANGE THE NAME OF YOUR TAP/VPN ADAPTER(S). 2. 3600 SECONDS IS JUST AN EXAMPLE FOR THE COUNTDOWN....MAKE IT 10000/15000/20000 SECONDS. 3. embytray.exe and embyserver.exe process will be killed/terminated. 4 embytray.exe and embyserver.exe process will be re-started. 5. It will then use the new IP/server IP. 6. No fancy interface/UI.....things are kept simple(command line) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Option 2. https://airvpn.org/topic/17440-guide-fix-for-tap-adapter-in-windows/page-3?do=findComment&comment=83234 Client Side(computer or device where you connect from) Use your Iphone/Tablet open a browser and key in embymyairvpnserver.airdns.org:34567 Comodo Rule Use this for client computers--> https://airvpn.org/topic/29189-block-all-interfaces-except-tapvpn/ Log-in and happy streaming. Client Side -- Use your ISP IP(any IP). IF IT IS NOT IN THE LIST OF emby.server.allowed.address IT WILL NOT CONNECT. *Download speed is what matters on the Client Side.. P.S. I would recommend that both computers/devices(Server/Client) are connected to different AirVPN servers. NOTE: This is only for http NOT https. Regards, Flx
  3. Hello, I run a small media server at home so I can listen to my music on the go. I've decided to try running it though the VPN, but I'm not sure exactly how to do it. These are the settings I currently have, and they don't seem to be working. Any help at all would be appreciated. The Emby server runs on two ports by default. 8096 for HTTP, and 8920 for HTTPS. My settings on Emby show the following. Local http port number: 8096 Local http port number: 8920 public http port number: 8098 public http port number: 8928 remote access http://my.airvpnserver.exitip :8098 local access 192.168.X.X:8096 There is also an option to specify the ip to bind to. If I bind it to the 10.X.X.X from AirVPN, only the local access ip changes. On my AirVPN settings, I have 8098 forwarded to local 8096. And 8928 forwarded to 8920. Neither of them have a green light. My router is set to forward ports 8096 and 8920 to my computers normal address 192.168.X.X Here are pictures in case they help any: https://i.gyazo.com/e64f7e207204a9f1e8e4f16f457f177d.png https://i.gyazo.com/9bc9c53feab3fe4f4324d99b8abc163c.png https://i.gyazo.com/bc494db4a4a9982879505be793c40008.png https://i.gyazo.com/27f6b3f63d3722f46b06df933295bcb6.png https://i.gyazo.com/2f9559e99660781275cd3b52245e86b5.png
