  1. As soon as i used last version of Eddie, I got a heavy unwanted traffics come into my fresh windows VM. By tracing the mentioned traffic back, I found they are connected to the notorious and discredited big data seller companies. Such as: Hosting Services IncAmanah Tech IncLeasewebSoftlayer Technologies IncZAO Russian Telecommunicatoions GroupDeepak Mehta FIEYesUp E-Commerce Solutions Incand tons of other third party companies. My question is why by using your VPN client I'll revived this much traffic on ICMP protocol, but by using OpenVPN in exact same server I won't get any? Are you selling/renting/trading our information? Will we a part of big botnet by using your client VPN version? I (we) need a clear official answer. Privacy is matter.
  2. Hi, After a lot of testing, searching, and experimenting with settings in the Windows 10 client, I've not been able to solve a DNS leak in the Windows 10 client. I have, however, been able to stop the leak by using a newer version of OpenVPN. The Windows AirVPN client currently uses OpenVPN version 2.3.8, a version which does not support the "block-outside-dns" option, which would solve the DNS leak. Version 2.3.9 supports this option, and the current version is 2.3.10, so upgrading the OpenVPN version in the Windows client would solve the leak. More here: https://www.dnsleaktest.com/how-to-fix-a-dns-leak.html I've tested the option in the most recent version of OpenVPN(Without the AIrVPN client) and the leak is fixed. The latest version is available here: https://openvpn.net/index.php/open-source/downloads.html Another issue with the client is that when you try to specify a custom path to OpenVPN, it doesn't work and uses the built-in version with the client. So this is a request to upgrade OpenVPN in the client and enable the "block-outside-dns" option too. Fixing the custom path would be great as well. I think this would help us all because privacy is a very important part of VPNs. Thanks, Henleys
  3. This might be covered elsewhere but I can't find it with search so I thought I'd ask. It takes a little while for Windows 10 to connect to a network (wired, in this case) after waking, but Eddie (v2.10.3) starts trying to re-connect before the network is actually up. In most cases this causes it to start connecting, fail, then re-connect, which seems like a waste of time. And since it takes longer to cancel the connection than to just let it try it's usually faster to just let it go. As well, if "Force reconnection to last server" is not checked it will sometimes connect to some random server that's nowhere near the fastest as the server list seems not to be updated for speed (no stars next to any servers and they'll be in a different, seemingly random order). Also, I'm not sure if this is related but if network lock is enabled it sometimes seems to trigger a loop wherein AirVPN can't connect/retries/fails/retries/etc. and I have to kill AirVPN, go into the adapter settings and turn DNS back to auto, re-open AirVPN and re-connect. Is there a way to make Eddie wait a few seconds before attempting to connect to ensure the network is up?
  4. Hi, it seems Eddie will re-set to a different server every 20 or 30 minutes for me today. Am I the only one experiencing this? Thanks.
  5. Hi everbody, I wanna use VPN over TOR but there is no Internet traffic after successfully VPN connection. Besides VPN connection disconnects almost after 1 minute because of TCP connection timeout. I've configured proxies from Advanced section of NetworkManager and I'm using SOCKS protocol as proxy type. I'm using Linux OS and NetworkManager to manage my network interfaces and VPN connections. My OpenVPN version is 2.3.0. I've already read this manuel but I couldn't find any solution. Is there any suggestion to overcome this problem? https://airvpn.org/tor/ Solution: - Use Eddie client, - Enable control port and cookie authentication in your torrc file as described at this URL https://airvpn.org/tor/ - Set Tor as connection mode in AirVPN -> Preferences, don't use TCP + Socks Proxy as me (my first mistake) - Be careful with the port numbers; because default port numbers in manuel and Eddie client are respectively 9150 and 9151 but in my torrc file they are 9050, 9051 and it's very easy to overlook for example my situation. (my second mistake) - You can export ovpn configuration file which is special for "VPN over TOR" from Eddie client, so you can use that file to connect VPN from command line using openvpn command. For me it's more easy than using Eddie client.
  6. Hi, Tried searching, but I couldn't find any other topic regarding this issue. Since a few days ago I have been unable to watch the Swedish TV-channel TV4 online (http://tv4play.se). It used to work perfectly before this! It is not working through any of the Swedish AirVPN-servers. Is it possible to circumvent this restriction? I find it rather odd that TV4play tells me a bunch of Swedish IP's are blocked. Sincerely,
  7. The current version of Eddie is 2.10.3 but the version of the source code on GitHub is 2.10.2 ? Am I right, or I'm missing something? )) Any plans to update to a current version?
  8. Are we ever going to get Eddie for Android.... Been with Airvpn for almost 2 years and waiting..... Open VPN for android sucks.... and dont trust it..... HELLO? Ive heard this topic many times..Why isnt anyone working on it?
  9. I've been running Fedora 22 for a while and had to install beesu in order to get Eddie functioning, however having beesu installed is causing me issues when it comes to upgrading to Fedora 23. I'm thinking of going to OpenSuse KDE but will I need to install beesu on Open Suse in order to get Eddie working? I'm open to all ideas here as I'm still a Linux noob so the more input the better. Thanks
  10. Hello, since a few days I get weird disconnections when I'm going via a SSL Tunnel. Why's that and am I compromised after this disconnection? Thanks in advance for your help!
  11. Hi, I've got a weird problem that I can't seem to solve: I'm running Ubuntu Gnome 15.10. I have installed the airvpn client from the .deb package and its running normally. But many websites won't load completely. for example facebook just loads most of the page elements but won't load the feed if i scroll down. other pages have similar problems or sometimes won't load at all. As soon as I disconnect, everything runs smoothly again. It happens with every server location, every browser I have tried and every kind of dns sever setting. I also tried it on ubuntu 14.04 just to make sure. same thing again. (I've been using airvpn on windows for a long time without problems) I disabled the firewall and my ubuntu is a fresh install. Maybe I'm missing something here, but I can't figure out what to do. Any help would be appreciated
  12. I was suffering this problem for a long time in the past, but now I have found the reason for it and I want to share this - maybe it could help someone. I was using different Linux versions of portable Eddie-Clients (x64) and I had this issue when Eddie failed to start sometimes at first try after system reboot, so I had to kill 'airvpn' process as root and restart it again. It happened about 1 time out of 5 and it was a bit annoying to be honest. I experienced this issue on different Linux distros: Linux Mint, Linux Mint Debian Edition 1 and 2... Now I have found the reason for this: I was running portable Eddie from a NTFS formatted drive - I was needed this drive to be Windows-compatible at that time, but now I don't. So, about a week ago I formatted it to Ext4 and now portable Eddie starts everytime without problem! The conclusion is: Linux version of portable Eddie sometimes fails to start from NTFS filesystem. That's it. I just wanted to inform everybody.
  13. Hello, this is a note to the Air staff, and to the Administrators of this service. I've moved to your network from another very popular VPN provider. Your client looks quite promising, however there are a couple things I need to know, and I will list them below. It's worth noting the following: • I'm running Windows 7 x64 on a fully encrypted machine, with a 100Mbps direct PPPoE connection, no router. • I use Bit Defender Internet Security 2016 which comes with all the bells and whistles. • I am adequately protected against WebRTC leaks. I have tried various servers to test the reliability of the connection, and of the client in general. A few things to note plus a couple of questions about Eddie and the reliability of your service: DNS Leaks: Upon checking the connection using your website IPLeak.NET, I have consistently experienced DNS leaks discovering my ISP, on servers from multiple countries except for Sweden, Switzerland and Latvia, which were consistently reliable with no leaks. The hardware didn't change and no settings were changed in the operating system or on the ISP's PPPoE connection in between server switching. All applications that would use the internet were closed before disconnecting and re-launched upon switching to a new server. What would be the explanation for consistently experiencing DNS leaks on so many of your servers? Network Lock: A tour of your client Eddie, revealed that Network Lock relies heavily on Windows Firewall. Considering I'm probably not the only one using a fully featured internet security suite (Bit Defender Internet Security 2016), which has its own firewall, Windows Firewall is therefore inactive (deactivated by Bit Defender to prevent conflicts). How does your client handle the situation where one of your customers is using an Internet Security suite, and as such, Windows Firewall being inactive in the context? Are there specific settings and/or Firewall rules that I can create and use with Bit Defender's Firewall to tailor it around Eddie's Network Lock, and seal the gaps, as Windows Firewall would do, or is Eddie's Network Lock limited to Windows Firewall only? Would enabling Network Lock which in turn enables Windows Firewall, conflict with the second Firewall, thus compromising Firewall integrity? There's a mode in the Network Lock section of the client called "Automatic" but it's not clear how Automatic is defined in the context. Does this mean that it works with the Internet Security suite Firewall or something else? What does the Automatic mode do specifically? Tor Exit Node: On some of the servers (predominantly Netherlands), the Tor Exit Node indicator is lit green when checking with your service at IPLeak.NET. On other servers it isn't. What are the mechanics behind this?
  14. Hi, I am running Eddie version 2.10.3 on Windows 7 x64. I am running some tests on all various servers in all the available countries and noticed that when viewing the Stats tab in Eddie, it states my real IP address in the Real IP detected section. I know that Network Lock disables IPv4 and IPv6 leaks, so was wondering how my actual IP address is managing to show up? I also checked (whilst connected to the same server) in the Overview section of my client area and it also reports my real IP address in the Coming From section? Any ideas?
  15. Hi, I have a suggestion for Eddie. On the tab for Servers, at the bottom there is a drop-down menu for "Scoring Rule" where the user can select "Speed" or "Latency". I think the option should be added to score servers by load (lowest is a higher score). I occasionally try to connect to a server with the lowest load, so perhaps this option could be integrated into the client? Thank you. anonym
  16. I noticed a strange problem with Eddie (2.10.3) under Win 7 : Sometimes, the taskbar refuses to auto-hide. The only way I found to resolve the problem is to left click on Eddie's icon in the system tray, so Eddie is responsible for this... When this happens, there is nothing blinking in the taksbar, no notification or text bubble displayed... no indication of anything requiring my attention. This is mildly annoying, but an annoyance anyway... a fix for this would be nice !
  17. I've been experiencing a few problems with Eddie (2.10.3 but also previous versions) on Win 7 64, mainly after waking my computer from sleep... I can't say for sure that Eddie is the cause of the crash, as I suspect faulty Intel drivers, but the consequences are a bit annoying... If the VPN connection was up at the time of the crash, the default DNS settings are not reset and windows tries to use AirVpn DNS... so, nothing works until I connect to an AirVPN server. This could be considered as a good thing, as it assures most of the traffic won't work unless connected to the VPN, but sometimes (like with some online payment sites) it is necessary to use a "standard" connection. And so I have to go through the process of manually changing the DNS server every time for this standard connection to work... It could be interesting to add a feature so that Eddie changes the DNS in use when it is launched (to recover to working settings after a windows crash, for example) and closed (to be sure it really reverts the system to a working configuration), and to be able to manually enter the DNS we want to use. In short, at the moment we have the option to choose which DNS to use when connected to the VPN (preferences/advanced/DNS), and Eddie reads the DNS in use when it starts and considers it as the standard configuration to revert to when it's closed, without checking if it is a valid/working DNS instead of AirVPN DNS (which won't work with a standard connection). I would need the same option, but to choose which DNS to use when NOT connected to the VPN + apply this setting at start and close of Eddie.
  18. Hello, I have installed the current stable build of Eddie on Windows 10. It works fine on the Administrator account. However, it does not seem to work fully on Standard User accounts. Eddie shows up in the Star Menu list of All Apps in the Admin account, but does not in a Standard User account. It also runs fine and starts with the PC as desired on the Admin account--but again, it does not start with the PC if it starts as a Standard User. If I dig down and find the .exe in Program Files, I can run it and it's fine. But it does not start with the PC. Seeing as Eddie doesn't even show up in All Apps in the Standard User account, I am guessing something doesn't work correctly in the installation process. I have installed the client while in both the Admin and Standard accounts, with the same result. Any help in understanding why this is, or getting it fixed, would be very appreciated.

  20. Hi, this has been announced here https://mta.openssl.org/pipermail/openssl-announce/2015-July/000037.html the security flaw is impacting versions 1.0.1 and 1.0.2 of Openssl. From eddie (mac version) it states openssl version 1.0.1k, so it is affected. Will you repack Eddie with the 1.0.1p version patched soon? Thanks
  21. When connected I couldn't find any place to get if the network if locked. Is that possible, or that's information is only available before connecting?
  22. Hey there. How do I check / verify that I connect to the websites with my real IP instead of through the VPN tunnel? Is there any third party software required to verify this or are there tools built into WIndows (8.1) or the Eddie Client to check this? Thanks in advance. And great VPN by the way!
  23. Disclaimer: "Pimp my.." is a reference to a once popular MTV show which centered on individuals submitting their vehicles with the goal of getting them optimized/upgraded. I'm not referring to sexual exploitation/slavery/trafficking or anything of the like. In the same spirit as that MTV show, I'm submitting my AirVPN log file to the kind folks of this community in case there is something in it which implies room for improvement. I have a 100 Mbps Comcast connection, a Docsis 3 modem (SB6141), an 802.11ac router (Asus AC68U) and my primary client is a MacBook with a 802.11 ac wireless adapter. I'm using the SSL port because it seems Comcast throttles the UDP ports on my connection. Anyhow, thanks in advance for any suggestions you might have to improve my vpn speeds. 24. Thank you in advance for your assistance. We are not able access any LAN connections (NAS, Time Machine etc) while running the AirVPN client (2.9.2) or earlier iterations of Eddie on OS X 10.9.5. LAN access is blocked in the following circumstances: 1. Client server Eddie running with VPN connected (No LAN access) 2. Client server Eddie running with VPN disconnected with network lock ENABLED (No LAN access) 3. Client server Eddie running with VPN disconnected and with network lock DISABLED (No LAN access) The only way we have found to re-establish LAN access (even after quitting Eddie) is to toggle the OS X Firewall off and then on again. We suspect re-setting its ‘rules’ that were modified by the AirVPN client. Also while Eddie is disconnected from a VPN server but network setting is LOCKED we can access LAN only by switching OS X firewall off which leaves the system totally unprotected. Would you please explain how the AirVPN client can be configured so it does not handicap and prevent critical LAN functions both when connected to a AirVPN server or unconnected and network locked. We are aware of the setting ‘Allow pan/private’ in the network lock settings however this does not allow LAN connections on the three OS X systems we have tested. Best Regards, Sarah
  25. Despite trying multiple ports (UDP 443, UDP 80, UDP 53), my in-tunnel speeds are significantly lower than out-tunnel speeds. Per attached Speed Test results, Download speeds are ~19 Mb/sec out of tunnel and only ~12 Mb/sec in the tunnel. I'm using the Eddie client on Mac OS Yosemite, machine is a MacBook Pro 2015. Both Router and client are 802.11N. -I don't think Comcast is throttling my network and even if they are, the throttling should affect both in and out of tunnel speeds. -I've tried the SSH and SSL ports and the In-Tunnel speeds on those are closer to 8 Mb/s...lower than my UDP ports. -Also tried TCP ports and as expected, speeds are lower than UDP ports. Any suggestions or explanations for the large gap between my in and out tunnel speeds would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
