Flx11 reacted to LZ1 in Stop running Tor servers behind AirVPN ...
Hello!
Pinning this and marking giganerds answer as the "solution" for convenience, as it's important we make as many people as possible aware of the issue of running exit nodes in this fashion.
Further interesting and clarifying messages include:
From giganerd:
One of a few Staff posts:
Hopefully that'll help make more people aware of the issue. Locking for now, as I believe most of what could be said, has been said already.

Wow.. I strongly advise you, Mr. 5YmkoLQZ, to not spread this kind of thinking. Ever. Not even here.
You are not supposed to buy in to all of them. Just the good ones offering you the most for your money. No one compels you to buy it all. Do you think the market won't eradicate the weak ones? Netflix is a start because it's rising to the top, if it isn't already, offering you content for an affordable monthly price in acceptable quality.
Unfortunately, if you live in Germany, they do threaten you with actual law enforcement as the law supports what they do, and if you get caught you should carefully consider your steps.
Technically, they have 3-4 years to sue you until the limitation period runs out and while there was a possibility for you to slip through in the past, today you get one last letter a few months before the end of the 3rd/4th year - guaranteed - and if you don't atone they invite you to court sometime around November and by that time payment is out of the question. Laws change, so those collection firms got some of their ground blown away but less cases mean your case is more visible on the table.
Playing it down to a mere "they try to scare you" is irresponsible towards someone who just got caught as you don't know in which country they reside in and which laws are to be taken how seriously. Hereby a friendly reminder to not be that guy. Or girl.
It's allowed because Net Neutrality is a fundamental right in the digital age, not because roguely downloading content for which other people worked their hours is praised. This is a privacy-centered community, after all, not a celebration of your right to freely pirate, even if Net Neutrality technically includes this use case.

Hello!
You can check the link in my signature for guides on how to configure torrenting correctly so that no accidents happen.
Network Lock (set it to turn on at startup) + A good FOSS client like qBittorent + Setting the torrent client to use tun0 or the equivalent VPN tunnel + always starting Eddie before the torrent client + downloading the testtorrent from ipleak.net is a good combination of actions to help ensure nothing leaks .
Also, just to be pedantic: there's nothing wrong or illegal with torrenting itself, as Bittorrent is just a protocol. It's *what* you torrent that has a risk associated with it.

Yup...blends in as a normal ISP IP.
IPv6 can be provided by an AirVPN Generation 2 server.

Hello!
By popular acclaim Kitalpha will not be canceled. Our previous decision was a consequence of the fact that Kitalpha has old hardware, no AES-NI supporting CPU and no IPv6 support. Since the datacenter could not offer IPv6 support, we decided to switch to a less obsolete infrastructure.
While nothing can be done for IPv6 support, it is possible that we can replace the server at least with an AES-NI supporting CPU (unavailable until some time ago, but now things might have changed), so that Kitalpha will be always in the same datacenter, but with a more modern hardware. If no AES-NI CPU is available, we will anyway keep Kitalpha as it is now. The advanced load balancing system works well and mitigates the bottlenecks caused by non-AES-NI supporting CPUs.
Kind regards

This was the ONLY server on which everything worked like a charm especially Netflix Europe ALWAYS worked.
I tend to agree with ginganerd on this.

Hello!
We're very glad to inform you that a new 1 Gbit/s servers located in Montreal (Canada) is available: Lacerta.
The AirVPN client will show automatically this new server, while if you use the OpenVPN client you can generate all the files to access it through our configuration/certificates/key generator (menu "Client Area"->"Config generator").
The server accepts connections on ports 53, 80, 443, 1194, 2018 UDP and TCP.
Just like every other "second generation" Air server, Lacerta supports OpenVPN over SSL and OpenVPN over SSH, TLS 1.2 and tls-crypt.
Full IPv6 support is included as well.
As usual no traffic limits, no logs, no discrimination on protocols and hardened security against various attacks with separate entry and exit-IP addresses.
You can check the server status as usual in our real time servers monitor:
https://airvpn.org/servers/Lacerta
Do not hesitate to contact us for any information or issue.
Kind regards and datalove

UDP/TCP-443 Add mssfix 1100 or mssfix 1200 and you'll see that works with these mssfix values.
For OpenVPN over SSL-> add mssfix 1300.

Flx11 got a reaction from win8 in Netflix & how to access/use it when VPN is connected ...
I'm referring to Tomato & DD-WRT routers. In OpenVPN Client Configuration section where under Advanced settings/Custom Configuration are as--->>>
--------------------------------------
resolv-retry infinite
remote-cert-tls server
comp-lzo no
verb 3
mssfix 1100
-------------------------------------
And if the above doesn't resolve; lower the MTU from 1500(default) to 1300 in Basic:Network.
Then check if OpenVPN is detected on the link below. It should be
Fingerprint and OS match. No proxy detected (this test does not include headers detection). No OpenVPN detected.http://witch.valdikss.org.ru/
Regards,
Flex
P.S. Tested on Tomato routers and works on all AirVPN Canadian servers.

Flx11 got a reaction from LZ1 in Guide - Fix for TAP adapter in Windows ...
Hello,
Instead of reseting it manually every now and then, now you can do this automatically. And stay/be connected 24/7 through the VPN.
The issue then when trying to connect remotely (e.g. office/other location) to the home computer that's connected to AirVPN.
Your client IP will be reset to 10.3.0.1 or 169.x.x.x. In that case OpenVPN-GUI will still show Connected, but in fact it's not.
1)This small batch file(see below) will ensure that the TAP-adapter will not disconnect.
---------------------------------dhcp.tap.adapter.bat-------------------------------------------
@ECHO OFF
:LOOP
ECHO Waiting for 300 seconds....
timeout /t 300
netsh interface ip set address tapadapter DHCP
netsh interface ip set address tapadapter DHCP
netsh int ip set dns name = "tapadapter" source = dhcp
ipconfig /all
GOTO LOOP
---------------------------------dhcp.tap-adapter.bat-------------------------------------------
2)After the connection has been established to AirVPN(UDP/TCP or OpenVPN over SSL/SSH) run the above file dhcp.tap.adapter.bat.
Run as Admin if elevation is required.
