  1. Hello,

I read the Instructions for setting Comodo Firewall

and I read several Posts on the Forum two.

    Now I have some Questions.

What is the best/simple way to set Comodo Firewall?

Do I only have to follow the 14 steps Instruction?

Do I have to set Application Rules two

and block svchost.exe and outgoing Pakets on Port 53 over UDP?

Can I use a single Program by setting only Application Rules?

    Kind Regards

    Hello!

Yes, with those global rules you don't need any application rule to prevent leaks. You may add application rules for particular needs (for example if you wish to block an application completely, even when tunneled).

    Kind regards

  2. I have the client on a system start up task manager rule and the auto log on option in the client settings, but it doesnt really does much of anything if it doesnt pick a server and connects to it!

    Can this be done?

    Hello!

If you don't need the client features and you wish an auto connection without manually picking a server, then you just have to run OpenVPN at the startup. The next Air client release will allow that as well.

    Kind regards

  3. Hello, I'm wondering if AirVPN assigns static/dedicated IPs to users. I would like to be assigned a static IP for some things I'm trying to set up.

If you do assign static IPs, how would a user go about setting this up?

    Thanks

    Hello!

Each Air VPN server has one static exit-IP address with which clients connected to that server are "visible" on the Internet. No specific setup is necessary.

    Kind regards

  4. Can AirVPN actually auto start the VPN connection without user input?

I have created a task that starts the program when the computer starts, as suggested by the site, I've also configured it to log on on startup but that's not really it...cause it stays in place while displaying the available servers...?

    Hello!

Please see here in order to autostart (and autologin) the Air client:

    https://airvpn.org/windows_autostart/

    Kind regards

  5. Hello! I believe you should inform your users about the risks of DNS leaks so that they will be able to protect themselves.

A good idea would be to have a link to: dnsleaktest.com who provides a very easy (free) solution.

Just a suggestion. Please give me your opinion on the subject.

    Thank you!

    Hello!

In the announcement section of the forum you can find permanent links for various OS and firewalls to prevent any leak, not only DNS leaks, even in case of unexpected VPN disconnection.

    Kind regards

  6. Hello!

Our frontend changed IP address. The new IP address is 85.17.207.151.

Please change again you hosts file line to:

    85.17.207.151 airvpn.org

If this does not solve the problem, can you please try a connection with OpenVPN GUI?

    Kind regards

  7. Is there a way to allow a connection to my XBOX while connected to Air without dd-wrt? Also when I have my firewall (Comodo) blocking all traffic not through Air,

    Hello!

As far as we know it's not possible to run OpenVPN on a Xbox, but you might connect the Xbox with an Ethernet cable to a computer which acts as a gateway. The computer establishes the connection to an Air server, then allows Internet sharing to the Xbox.

how do I allow my XBOX and computer to communicate? I tried allowing all local to local but it is not working. Thanks!

Please determine the Xbox IP address in your network if it's static or tell us whether it accepts a DHCP-pushed IP from the router and send us your Comodo rules, Network Zones and how your local network is defined.

We're looking forward to hearing from you.

    Kind regards

  8. managed to solve this some how, everytihng appears to work just fine...thank you

    Hello!

Thank you very much for the information. We're very glad to know that you managed to solve the problem.

In order to help possible other customers with the same router model, can you please publish your solution at your convenience?

    Thanks in advance.

    Kind regards

    Hello!

Unfortunately this looks like a known DD-WRT firmware bug:

    https://airvpn.org/index.php?option=com_kunena&func=view&catid=3&id=4292&limit=6&limitstart=6&Itemid=142#4358

The challenge is finding for your router the last working firmware version. You can probably find precious indications on the provided link.

site says not connected at the bottom in red and it says connected in current session statistics

This is because the router really establishes a connection, but then starts "messing up" and does not tunnel anything from the devices, while at the same time it keeps the connection alive.

    Kind regards

  10. I have tried to "right click" on the VPN client (AirVPN.exe right?) and don't get anything other than the standard windows pop up options. I've tried the AirVPN.exe icon on the desktop as well as the AirVPN log-in window before and after logging into my account.

I'm sure I'm doing something incredibly ignorant here so please do not make me feel any stupider than I already do but - how do I get to the logs? Am I using the wrong program? Is AirVPN.exe not the "client" you mention?

    Thanks.

    Hello!

Please right-click on the Air dock icon. It's the circular small icon with a white cloud on a blue sky in the dock, which appears when airvpn.exe is running. Select "Logs". A window will open up. Click on "Copy to clipboard", a big button at the bottom of the window. Then paste in the forum (right-click on the message composition window and select "Paste").

    Kind regards

  11. I am still wondering if it would be *possible* to configure the AirVPN TAP-adapter with a fixed preferred and alternate DNS server, instead of using the default 10.4.0.1 (that you get in Windows when "obtaining DNS servers automatically").

Would this produce an increased security risk OTHER than the inherent risk arising from the privacy policies of the DNA server company chosen?

(The reason I ask is that I would like to try out the SwissPrivacyFoundation DNS servers for a while and see if there is any difference to the default Google servers that AirVPN uses).

Thanks a lot for any info on this.

    Hello!

You can do that, there are no privacy risks.

    Kind regards

  12. I have submitted two tickets to AirVPN and used the "contact us" form (today and yesterday), and I am not getting email back. Can someone look into it?

Creating tickets does not give me a ticket number, so I cannot look up the status of the tickets.

    Thank you.

    Hello!

Maybe you have an invalid e-mail address registered in our system?

If you're still facing issues, please do not hesitate to contact us in the forum or by directly writing to info@airvpn.org

    Kind regards

  13. Hello!

We're very glad to inform you that a new 100 Mbit/s server located in Switzerland is available: Geminorum.

The AirVPN client will show automatically the new server, while if you use the OpenVPN client you can generate all the files to access it through our configuration/certificates/key generator (menu "Member Area"->"Access without our client").

The server accepts connections on port 53, 80 and 443 UDP and TCP.

As usual no traffic limits, no logs, no discrimination on protocols and hardened security against various attacks with separate entry and exit-IP addresses.

Do not hesitate to contact us for any information or issue.

    Kind regards and datalove

  14. Hello!

In order to improve the service we're glad to inform you that we're going to change frontend servers.

Those of you who inserted in their hosts file the line:

    46.105.19.36 airvpn.org

in order to resolve airvpn.org (even when firewall rules prevent that) will need to modify it with:

    85.17.207.151 airvpn.org

Furthermore, any 46.105.19.36 IP address in any firewall rule will have to be replaced with 85.17.207.151

    Kind regards

  15. Yesterday everything worked great w/ Comodo and AirVPN. Today, using AirVPN client, I can log in but can't connect to any server unless I disable Comodo. Then, after about 1 hr, I tried to switch servers and got an "already connected" message and was unable to reconnect.

I'm sure you would like a log and I tried to right click on the AirVPN client but don't get anything to pop up.

I really appreciate your fast reply to others and hope you can help me as well.

    Hello!

In order to send us the connection logs, please right-click on the Air dock icon and select "Logs". Then click on "Copy to clipboard" and paste here.

Also, your Comodo rules and Network Zones definitions will be helpful for troubleshooting.

We're looking forward to hearing from you.

    Kind regards

  16. Maybe I should ask my question here, since it seems the right thread for it (I had asked it in the DNS Leak thread before, where it is off-topic):

I'm using the Global Rules Method in Comodo, but also added the following allow-rule:

Allow IP In/Out From IP 0.0.0.0 To In [Host Group Addresses] Where Protocol Is Any

    Is this rule safe?

    Hello!

    Yes, it's safe. See also:

  17. Hi!

I was wondering if we can use the 2.3 beta. I understand they fixed many issues and improved security even more. Is it possible to use that version with the AirClient? If so, would you mind giving a short instructional guide of how to set it up? Does everything of v.2.2 need to be removed for example?

    Thank you

    Hello!

Yes, you can use it. You need to uninstall 2.2.2 completely (so you'll also have the new, improved TAP-Win32 adapter) and install 2.3_beta*.

Being a beta version, you should not expect the same stability of 2.2.2.

    Kind regards

  18. When connecting to a Server, what do the colors and percentages indicate? Does 100%=full?

    Hello!

Yes, 100% means total available bandwidth in use, so that server (apart from bursts) can't give any more bandwidth.

The monitor also shows a percentage graphic bar, the flag of the country where the server is physically in, the name of the datacenter location/town, the number of currently connected clients.

On the right you can see self-explanatory tables that are useful to check servers speed and stability.

    Kind regards

  19. I have discovered the problem. It seems that with Peerblock on, it disrupts everything. I disabled my firewall, PeerBlock and my antivirus and tried them all differently. I was able to use the VPN, properly (tested it here and on various what's my IP websites), but PeerBlock for some reason interferes with the connection. I'm not sure if PeerBlock will interfere with the service if I disable it, connect to the VPN and then renable it. Do you know?

    Hello!

We're very glad to know that the problem is solved.

We don't know what may happen if you re-enable PeerBlock after the connection, you should try it to know for sure. You don't need PeerBlock anyway when you're connected to a VPN server.

    Kind regards

  20. My ISP does not allow port forwarding at all. Does this mean that I can't enjoy 100 percent privacy/anonymity if I use AirVPN?

    Kindly enlighten me.

    Hello!

    Thank you for your inquiry.

It's not a problem. The anonymity layer is just the same regardless of your ISP allowing or not port forwarding (in some cases, your ISP NOT allowing port forwarding is an additional security).

It's important to note that AirVPN will let you bypass this limitation, i.e. you can remotely forward ports on our system and finally be able to receive incoming connections from the outside, if you wish so.

    Kind regards

  21. Hi there!

    Thanks for the answer!

I managed to reconnect after some time (guess the session expired). But for 10-15mins I wasn't able to.

    Maybe a bug in NetworkManager...

    Hello!

Yes, it has been reported by some customers that network-manager (apparently any version) sometimes needs to be restarted in order to allow a new connection.

But I think, problem kinda solved - just have to be a little more patient or figure out why the session isn't closed correctly...

    Bye

    Sayal

    Thank you!

    Kind regards
