ANSWERED Forced quited and broke something
Staff replied to itsamemario's topic in Eddie - AirVPN Client
Yes, it's AirVPN.xml (see the logs for the path). You can try to delete it, just in case it's corrupt. Kind regards -
Can you please clarify the reason and the meaning of the sentence? We offer 44 VPN servers in the Netherlands and 7 VPN servers in Germany. Kind regards

Hello! As you can see in the log entry, you have an error caused by reason 134, preceded by an "not yet valid" which is only apparently enigmatic. This implies that your timeline is not matching with our timeline, even though the Attractor Field could be the same. In our timeline, the technology you are using is not available in 1970. Our certificates began to be issued after 2010 and our whole infrastructure was born only in 2010. It is unclear how, in spite of the divergence, communications are flowing between you and us. We strongly recommend that you try to fix the divergence with the help of an NTP server for your router, before any potential paradox can cause extensive damage either in your or our observable time line, or even fall in the scope of a different Attractor Field. In any case, please proceed quickly but with extreme caution. Kind regards John

Hello! Please read the answers to the FAQ before posting a frequently asked question that has been already answered (this is a general rule to everyone, not specific to you). https://airvpn.org/topic/9161-you-provide-remote-port-forwarding-what-is-it/ You can forward up to 20 ports simultaneously. You can do that on our website, in your account "Client Area". You can't forward ports lower than 2048. You can map a remotely forwarded port to a different local port: this is useful for a variety of cases, for example when your service listens to a port lower than 2048 or when the port is already reserved. We might delete any topic that asks an answered FAQ. We underline that you can remap any remotely forwarded port to any local port. Kind regards

how to accept DNS push requests for dummies
Staff replied to a topic in Troubleshooting and Problems
Note for clarifications to the readers: resolvconf is not a script, it is a program. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resolvconf The OpenVPN script which uses resolvconf program to handle DNS according to OpenVPN server DNS push is update-resolv-conf and it is usually included in OpenVPN package (if not, you can find it online). installing portable airvpn client version
Staff replied to whiskey_76's topic in Eddie - AirVPN Client
Hello, if you need to start the Air client (either in command line mode or in graphical mode) from a terminal, you might like to use "screen": https://www.gnu.org/software/screen/ Run the client from inside "a screen" (a virtual terminal), detach the screen and forget about it. Then you can re-attach the virtual terminal from any other, new terminal. Quick tutorial: https://www.rackaid.com/blog/linux-screen-tutorial-and-how-to/ Kind regards -
Hello! We're sorry to inform you that server Tania has been withdrawn. Unfortunately a series of several issues have made the server working only intermittently - you might have noticed that Tania has been down almost all the time. Additionally the problems with the bandwidth persisted, therefore we have been forced to make this decision. Kind regards AirVPN Staff

how to accept DNS push requests for dummies
Staff replied to a topic in Troubleshooting and Problems
Warning: OpenVPN on GNU/Linux and *BSD does not take into account DNS push. It needs manual scripting to do so, update-resolv-conf script is included in several OpenVPN packages and can be used on every system that has resolvconf package available and installed. Kind regards -
Web based speedtest is not accurate?
Staff replied to DCG909's topic in Troubleshooting and Problems
Hello, yes, it can be inaccurate, just like any other speed test. It's very hard to have an accurate web based speed test. Our speed test is useful in determining an approximate out-tunnel/in-tunnel performance ratio and make comparisons. Do not rely on it too much for absolute values. In your case, the outcome is excellent. Even considering the potential error, the performance inside the tunnel appears almost equal to the performance outside the tunnel, which is an excellent outcome. Kind regards -
Hello, please test OpenVPN over SSL connection mode, it's worth a try. You can change connection modes in Air client software window "AirVPN" > "Preferences" > "Protocols". Select "SSL Tunnel - Port 443", click "Save" and test connections to various servers in different locations. Kind regards

Hello! We're very glad to inform you that a new 100 Mbit/s server located in Hong Kong is available: Arcturus. The AirVPN client will show automatically the new server, while if you use the OpenVPN client you can generate all the files to access them through our configuration/certificates/key generator (menu "Client Area"->"Config generator"). The server accepts connections on ports 53, 80, 443, 2018 UDP and TCP. Just like every other Air server, Arcturus supports OpenVPN over SSL and OpenVPN over SSH. As usual no traffic limits, no logs, no discrimination on protocols and hardened security against various attacks with separate entry and exit-IP addresses. Do not hesitate to contact us for any information or issue. Kind regards and datalove AirVPN Team

Hello, although Eddie can run swiftly on a wide variety of GNU/Linux distributions, Fedora 23 needs some additional work, we're sorry. Nothing too complex anyway. Please see: https://airvpn.org/topic/11572-fedora/ Kind regards

ANSWERED No Server Available - Error Message
Staff replied to Iron_Mike's topic in Troubleshooting and Problems
Hello, the problem appears completely different: . 2016.06.04 23:03:09 - Updating systems & servers data ... . 2016.06.04 23:11:24 - Cannot retrieve systems & servers data. Please retry later or contact us for help. (Unable to connect to the remote server) This issue is known in 2.9.2 (2.9.2 is not fully compatible with Windows 8.1 and 10, and one of the potential problems is exactly this). Before anything else, please upgrade to Eddie 2.10.3, and re-send the logs if the problem persists (if the client is still blocked, it's worth checking any packet filtering tool). Kind regards -

The whole issue affected the systems for just 10 minutes or even less but if you disabled Eddie auto servers refresh you need to manually refresh the servers list to re-populate it. Kind regards -

Hello! Today we're starting AirVPN sixth birthday celebrations! From a two servers service located in one tiny country providing a handful of Mbit/s in 2010, the baby has grown up to a wide infrastructure in 16 countries in three continents with 165 VPN dedicated servers and several secondary servers aimed to additional services, providing now up to 156900 Mbit/s to tens of thousands persons around the world. The number of available VPN servers since the last birthday has almost doubled. An outstanding growth that makes us very proud! If you're curious to know something about a series of fortunate events which gave birth to AirVPN, have a look here: https://airvpn.org/aboutus To worthily celebrate Air's sixth birthday, we're glad to inform you that starting from now we are offering a 25% discount on all plans.
