  1. No confusion. If you think otherwise you have failed to read properly the message you quote. Additionally, you are the confused one. See below. That's totally irrelevant. The relevance here is that the EUCJ is treating the ECHR as a part of EU law to prevent any contradiction with the Council of Europe decisions and any inconsistency with the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the EU, posing the legal foundation to challenge data retention legal framework in the UK on the very same basis of both decisions (because UK will remain a member of the Council of Europe even when it will go out of the EU, and because the ECHR has been undersigned and much later transposed into the national legislation of the kingdom). Ad abundantiam we remind the readers that the Treaty of Lisbon established the accession of the EU and the EU Member States even to the ECHR, and not as an option, but as a duty. This has been clarified many times (last but not least by the Parliament, for example here http://www.europarl.europa.eu/thinktank/en/document.html?reference=EPRS_BRI%282017%29607298). Even if such accession is problematic in the sense that it could be deemed insufficient to protect EU citizens human rights, it does not affect the fact that the EUCJ has never found a case for which contradiction of the ECHR was necessary, and that the EU Charter is heavily based on the ECHR. No, you are totally mistaken and confused. The decisions come from the EUCJ (the Court of Justice of the European Union) upon requests of various courts of different Member States. Nothing to do with the Council of Europe. Stop trolling and read. We have provided links to the press releases of the EUCJ in our previous message. The decisions are exceptionally clear, please read them. If you have doubts, the second decision is stronger (even if the first one makes the 2006/24/EC invalid with retro-active effect, the second decision is even stronger), perhaps because the first was not well understood by some Member States legislators who played with words and tried to instill doubts just like you are doing now. You have linked an article that was written six months before the second decision was taken. Irrelevant but coherent with your apparent, not so well hidden, intent. Are you in good faith? Kind regards
  2. Please make sure to connect each device to a different VPN server to prevent any conflict or race condition in packets forwarding. Kind regards

    Just "hi"

Hello and welcome aboard! We kindly ask you to ignore our internal speed test, we will review (or even delete) it soon because it has apparently become quite unreliable. It appears that it frequently shows a much lower throughput than the real one, especially on broadband lines. Please use other "speed measurements" services and rely also on real life usage. Kind regards
  4. Hello! If you talk about the rulings of the EUCJ about Data Retention: https://curia.europa.eu/jcms/upload/docs/application/pdf/2014-04/cp140054en.pdf https://curia.europa.eu/jcms/upload/docs/application/pdf/2016-12/cp160145en.pdf they are based on EU law, of which the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights is an essential and binding document after the Lisbon treaty. As a side note, the European Convention on Human Rights has been ratified by all the EU Member States and also by various non-EU countries. Additionally, it is imnportant to note that the EUCJ has considered (and will continue to do so) the ECHR as an integral part of the EU legal framework on fundamental rights, to prevent any possible conflict between EUCJ and and Council of Europe court decisions and clarify no inconsistency or contradiction (after Lisbon) between ECHR and the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union. Finally, the EUCJ decisions are binding for all Member States. As long as UK is still a member of the EU, the decision is binding for UK too. Note that infringing those decisions would also infringe the fundamental rights as enshrined in the ECHR, which has been signed by the UK and will remain into force regardless of the fact that UK is an EU Member State or not. Kind regards
  5. Hello, the correct option is "-netlock" as clearly specified in the instructions. Also type "airvpn -cli -help" or "man airvpn" to print the manual. It is clearly specified in the guides, in the welcome e-mail that's sent when you subscribe to the service, in the dedicated forum and in the instructions for various Operating Systems. There is no security breach. We're glad too even if we are somehow puzzled to read your initial concerns. Perhaps they were just caused by a lack of information. You MUST read our instructions and you will be just fine. Kind regards
  6. Hello! We're very glad to inform you that a new 1 Gbit/s server located in Sweden is available: Ain. The AirVPN client will show automatically the new servers, while if you use the OpenVPN client you can generate all the files to access them through our configuration/certificates/key generator (menu "Client Area"->"Config generator"). The server accepts connections on ports 53, 80, 443, 1194, 2018 UDP and TCP. Just like every other Air server, Ain supports OpenVPN over SSL and OpenVPN over SSH. As usual no traffic limits, no logs, no discrimination on protocols and hardened security against various attacks with separate entry and exit-IP addresses. Do not hesitate to contact us for any information or issue. Kind regards and datalove AirVPN Team
  7. Hello! We're very glad to inform you that two new 1 Gbit/s servers located in Norway are available: Fomalhaut and Ophiucus. The AirVPN client will show automatically the new servers, while if you use the OpenVPN client you can generate all the files to access them through our configuration/certificates/key generator (menu "Client Area"->"Config generator"). The servers accept connections on ports 53, 80, 443, 1194, 2018 UDP and TCP. Just like every other Air server, they support OpenVPN over SSL and OpenVPN over SSH. As usual no traffic limits, no logs, no discrimination on protocols and hardened security against various attacks with separate entry and exit-IP addresses. Do not hesitate to contact us for any information or issue. Kind regards and datalove AirVPN Team
  8. Hello, currently BBC iPlayer is again accessible from all the Air VPN servers. Kind regards
  9. Hello! The Enzu servers in Chicago were replaced in 2016 and February 2017 with two new servers. The fact that Enzu servers remained for 5 more months is only a courtesy to our customers. However, we agree that we should have been clearer about the withdrawal of the Enzu servers in Chicago just like we were for Dallas (with proper servers monitor warning). We apologize, we just want to underline that we announced the imminent withdrawal anyway when we put new servers operational - we failed to do that in the servers monitor though. Kind regards
  10. Hello! This is a bizarre explanation for the issue because if there are no leaks (which may well occur with UPnP enabled and Network Lock disabled) it doesn't matter whether the torrent client establishes one or a hundred thousand half-open TCP connections, your router will see only ONE stream (the unique connection necessary for the tunnel between your node and the VPN server). Anything from qBittorrent (and any other application) is wrapped by OpenVPN (in UDP or TCP) and your router does not even see it. Anything lying under is re-ordered, unwrapped and decrypted in the VPN server only. The huge difference is in the TCP/IP stack of the system running qBittorrent. Kind regards
  11. Hello! We're very sorry, from now on BBC iPlayer is no more accessible from our infrastructure. BBC might be progressively restricting access from IP addresses assigned only to UK residential ISPs. We're sorry, but we can't do anything about it, because of course we can't rely on residential lines for a high quality service. We can search for additional IP addresses in UK not yet blocked by BBC, but we're afraid that that would be only a temporary solution. We're anyway working on it, although (as you can imagine) we can't promise anything. Kind regards
  12. Hello! Probably not even this: note the late update in Banhof press release. Translated into English it sounds like: Kind regards
  13. Is there any update on a full rollout? I'd love to be able to use both protocols. Hello! We can confirm that everything is going on as planned. Apparently, all the problems have been solved. Testing already started some time ago. We can't provide you with a definite date and time for full IPv6 support, however we can confirm that we see no specific problems in keeping the declared deadline. Kind regards
  14. @wiz222 Hello! Yes, that solution is fine for your purpose. An OpenVPN client on the router (connecting to the Air VPN server you need for static address), another one (vpnux) in the machine you work with (connected to the same DD-WRT router). Kind regards
  15. Hello, you're accessing a service which is "geo-routed" through some of our Germany routing servers. Kind regards
  16. Hello! 1) Enable Network Lock. 2) Make sure that your e-mail client does not open automatically any embedded URL with any program (browser or anything else). This is the default behavior in Thunderbird, if we're not mistaken. AirVPN will protect you anyway provided that you keep Network Lock enabled just in case the linked resource tries something like WebRTC. Actually, the reported techniques were used in the remote past and often with success. However they are quite rudimentary and nowadays they have mainly a didactic purpose. They were used in the proto-investigation techniques which were soon to be shaped around 20 years ago. Today you might catch some naive wannabe "cracker" or maybe some script kiddie with them... Kind regards
  17. Eddie 2.13.5beta has been released. Sorry for the issue with 2.13.4. Kind regards
  18. Hello! Eddie 2.13.4beta is now available in experimental section. Changelog 2.13.3 -> 2.13.4 About macOS, the issue about "Checking Environment" is still under investigation. Please report if something has changed in this version. If it still doesn't work, try to uncheck "Preferences -> Advanced -> Skip processes checking" and report if that resolves the issue. Thanks. The issue about slow connection we hope are now resolved. We hope that problems with some distribution, such as Manjaro and openSUSE, are now resolved. Please test. Kind regards
  19. Hello! We're very glad to inform you that ten new 1 Gbit/s servers located in Dallas (TX), USA, are available: Chamaeleon, Equuleus, Helvetios, Leo, Mensa, Pegasus, Ran, Scutum, Volans, Vulpecula. Please note that the aforementioned servers will replace the following five servers in Dallas which will be withdrawn within a week: Aldib, Alnair, Alsavi, Auva, Rasalgethi Do not hesitate to contact us for any information or issue. Kind regards and datalove AirVPN Team
  20. Hello! In Windows with a third-party firewall anything can happen. You should not assume that Network Lock will work if any third party firewall is polluting the rules. In Fedora check your ip6tables rules: IPv6 traffic is blocked via very simple ip6tables rules. Send log and system report as well, they could provide precious clues. Kind regards
  21. Hello! Actually it shouldn't, can you please declare your Operating System exact version and Eddie version? Also, are you running any third-party firewall (i.e. any firewall different than the default system firewall)? Kind regards
  22. DNS leaks do not exist in GNU/Linux. The argument you're talking about has nothing to do with DNS leaks. It may be relevant or not but please do not confuse it with DNS leaks. Once and for all let's stop this fantastic and totally imaginary idea of DNS leaks on GNU/Linux. Any other topic or message with such a fantasy tale will be deleted. Kind regards
  23. Hello! When you run Eddie in a terminal, specify -netlock option to activate Network Lock. See Eddie manual. From the GUI, click the very big "Activate Network Lock" button in the middle of the main window to activate Network Lock. You can also tell Eddie to activate Network Lock at startup in preferences. Frankly we have no idea on how to make Network Lock easier to activate. Kind regards
  24. No, we were not contacted. We contacted the author of the article as we said, and he kindly answered. We will be waiting for the information we required and we will keep you posted. Kind regards
  25. Hello, we can't reproduce the presumed issue in any way. As far as we can see it does not exist. We have never been contacted by the author. We have anyway written to the author of the article for clarifications and explanations. We will keep you posted. Kind regards
