People with determination are the coolest, remember that -
Staff, I'll risk sounding uneducated here lol, but what's IEC? Hopefully it's not something related to an Internet Explorer Control panel something
-
Do you know if there is a way to get the older beta version. I asked at support but maybe someone here is faster. Maybe you can check if there's anything of interest on Github.

Are you using any third party security software by any chance?

Network lock froze my Windows Firewall and Windows update
LZ1 replied to yoann_taraud's topic in Troubleshooting and Problems
Hello! I recommend the following: If you can open the Eddie client at all, go to the logs section and click the lifebelt icon. Then paste the contents into an AirVPN support ticket. Remember to delete your password, which will show in those logs. This will give Clodo and/or the AirVPN support team the best opportunity at examining your problem and trying to solve it. If not for you, then perhaps for others, later on. Then proceed to delete Windows Vista and install some kind of Linux distribution lol. Or consider dual-booting at least, so that you can run Windows & Linux, as needed. Vista is cancer (put mildly). Try go to windows firewall and find the option to "reset" it. Not turn it off or disable it, but actually "reset" it. This can fix NL (Network Lock) issues sometimes. Try the latest experimental client if you haven't. Make sure to delete everything already installed and do some restarts, if possible. The crash you experienced back there, was a result of a Windows Filtering Platform error I believe, as I got it too, whenever WFP was enabled. Thus, in the experimental, "WFP" is disabled, in the advanced settings. Maybe you could even use CCleaner to do a sweep. Especially with its ability to clean up the registry a bit. I don't know if you've tried it, but have you tried running the client as Admin? Or perhaps changing its compatibility mode?Even though we can't force you to change your OS, I don't think it's realistic to expect this problem to be solved by Air, sorry to say . As previously stated by others, Vista is quite old. Not as old as XP, of course, but still old enough. This presents a variety of problems. -
Hello! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us and making a contribution to the community! . Very nice of you. Be right back, I need to give Eddie a pat on the back and tell him you still love him and will remain friends

Some beautiful changes Staff. The world will love you for your focus on Linux ^=^ Sent to you from me with datalove

Actually Kepler, don't bother replying to my last posts. I've said the same things to you 2-3 times and it just gets ignored mostly. Just forget all my posts, as I found a (hilarious) video that pretty much perfectly sums up what I want to say (minus the insults, naturally): https://youtu.be/GLG9g7BcjKs If you're then up for doing some extra legwork, I found this video equally instructive (and hilarious): https://youtu.be/P979HaI5qlk I'm out of the discussion. It was fun while it lasted y'all . Thank you for sharing. P.S. If you either want to lighten the mood or can't be assed watching a long video, this is invaluable for the lols, haha: https://youtu.be/HyT7vXdyieM Got a feeling FromtheWalls may like the videos <3. Peace!

If you're using 3rd party security software, it can be worth taking a look at the Experimental Eddie client, as it's meant to handle these better . Otherwise in VPN terms, make sure tap.exe, openvpn.exe and airVPN.exe are not being blocked by anything. Further, you can also choose to "reset" windows firewall rules, if you're having issues; especially if after using Network Lock(NL). A guy in the link you provided, told you to forward both ports from the VPN and your router. Do not do this, as it exposes you to correlation attacks. As for AirVPN together with TOR, you can check that. In addition to my guide, wherein there's plenty other security/privacy centric links. Do remember to put the port you want to forward, into the "local port" field, not the top field, as I see you did the opposite in the reddit thread, regarding port 51485. I think it's also worth checking ipleak.net to make sure you're not leaking, in addition to perhaps turning off IPv6 and/or network adapters you aren't using. -
I understand. I don't know what you like, but have you seen Black MIrror? That's pretty techy in a freaky way.

lol, I didn't mean to be rude, but your post was interesting and there's nothing that'll stop Rickn from answering anyhow.

Hello! Security is a process, not just a piece of software; much like with AirVPN. Thus even a locked down Linux distro can be made unsafe, if the user is stupid . /thread?

Hello! Thank you for leaving such a nice review - Welcome to AirVPN! . I'm glad it's fast for you. I too was blown away at the speeds lol. I got faster speeds WHILE Air was running, than when it was off xD. Which was hilarious, after reading articles who were like "oh, expect a 20% drop in speeds when using a VPN" and I'm like "plz, try AirVPN", hahaha . I hadn't heard of Unotelly before either. It's sad that Netflix has been blocking so many things. Even Air has trouble getting through.

Hello! I doubt Air or any serious tech company would ever claim to be "immune" to hacking . We can't prove if a VPN doesn't log - only make more or less educated guesses. With Air, there's a very low probability of logging, due to: how they run their setup, who runs it, their history, technical features and so forth.

What's the point in that exercise though? Isn't that just like trying to find a US outlet depicting Putin and/or Russia in a positive light as well? Even if either were found, what's the point? We already know that virtually all media, has a propaganda aspect to it. It's just a matter of picking your poison.
-
@FromtheWalls To be fair though, don't you think racism is bad? I certainly do and a lot of those rights people like Kepler keep mentioning, are important. It's just that when people like Kepler (respectfully), only talk about those rights and don't stay rooted in reality, then the problem begins. As you alluded to. That's when the "sheeple", as you call them, easily get tricked by excuses of fighting for "freedom and democracy" abroad or [harmful] "trade" deals, are damaging. As you rightly say, we can't just keep talking about all the -isms and being outraged. Noam Chomsky said it best: Which goes for all issues, I think.

still connected but internet abruptly stops working
LZ1 replied to David140's topic in Troubleshooting and Problems
It's often something simple . I don't know if you're using Eddie, but if you are, I recommend using the Experimental version, as it may work better in conjunction with security software like Comodo. Info in my signature. -
Put differently, Kepler, a poll by the American polling company Gallup, in 2014, found that the US was considered the biggest threat to world peace. Well before Trump or HIllary fighting for the presidency. Not Russia, not China, not all the "regimes" you like to hit on. It's a poll that most Americans may not have heard about, as it wasn't really carried by US media, naturally. This was a survey of 65 countries. But according to you, none of this will matter, because the US is simply fighting for various "rights", while all the others are just abusing human rights. So are you going to tell me that the rest of the world is just plain wrong hmm? Because I can agree that Russia shouldn't have annexed Crimea for instance. But how is it any different to the US virtually annexing Iraq, Afghanistan and all the others? Try and for once focus on what the US has done please, instead of just going back to hitting on the others again and talking about human rights. Just for a change.

Well guys, I would like if you both watched your tone a bit, as there's no reason to be rude to one another . @Kepler Thanks for a long post, I like those. I think your opinion is contradictory. 1) You claim I excuse repressive regimes and yet you routinely excuse the US? I don't excuse them. I acknowledge the fact that they do bad things. Instead, what I'm doing is a response to what you're doing (funny enough), because what you do, is never look at why they do what they do. Instead, you often simply jump to the conclusion that they're basically just evil/bad, as if this were a Harry Potter movie and that that's why. Which in turn means that you don't view reality at all. 2) I never said I hated the US. But as with previously, you seem to think that the equation goes like this: critique = hatred. If so, then I would, by your definition, also be a hater of all things Russian and Chinese. I'm not. Again, it's just that your points of view lack balance. You constantly repeat (respectfully speaking) the same things regarding various human rights. Yet you refuse to acknowledge the US role in the subversion of those very same rights. It's strange to see. It's like when the BBC, CNN or the Guardian or the New York Times report that Trump will undermine human rights and yet they don't take a deeper and closer look at the human rights violations already committed under Obama. It's self-defeating. Likewise, you seem to be unwilling to acknowledge what the US has done in the world and whether or not its actions could have at least partly helped provoke circumstances around the world, to evolve into how they are now. I'm not saying it's 100% the US fault, no. I'm asking you if you can acknowledge that the US has any fault at all - on the same level as these "regimes" that you keep critiquing. Because if you can't, then there's nothing more to talk about really, as you will just keep going from "Oh no, look at the effects of Trump" to "Yuck, look at those evil disgusting regimes like Russia being evil again" and back again. Which is tedious and doesn't come close to a realistic appraisal of events at all. I did not say Russia was justified in the actions it took surrounding Crimea. I said that Russia, like any state, doesn't just *do* things at random. But that it has reasons and motivations for doing things. Reasons and motivations which you completely ignore, by instead preferring to simplistically say that Russia is simply a "regime" and that's that. As I've also said, I support the various rights you mentioned and keep mentioning. I just, perhaps unlike you, don't make them into my entire argument. I agree that the Republican party is pretty much a dark stain on humanity, due to all the troubles they cause. But I also think the Democrats aren't really that much better - sure they "officially" support women's rights, but that's only for women in the US. What about Iraqi women? Afghan women? Syrian women? They're bombing those. Or what about when the US helped topple a Democratically elected Iranian leader, leading to leaders like the Shar later on? They don't care about those either. So, as I'm saying, you refuse to look critically at the US. Not looking critically at your own country, is just as much the reason why the US is in dire straits now, as it is that Trump was elected. Because it's people like yourself, respectfully, which enable bad actions that the US government commits. But if you think the US pretty much can't do anything wrong, then you'll never care, even when it does. You'll simply resort to blaming: The government. Some leader of state, say Obama or Putin. Some repressive regime and/or terrorist group. But never yourself and the US as a whole. In a previous post, I took the trouble to source some links, to show you that the US does plenty evil in the world, that has nothing to do with fighting Communists, Terrorists or whatever else, but simply furthering its own strategic goals, with the lives of innocents and their rights, as payment. What did you do? You ignored that post almost entirely. You didn't even acknowledge my critique of the US at all. I can critique the US/China/Saudi Arabia and so on. But can you critique the US? I don't think so. Instead, you ask for the US to be cut some slack, which is madness (for a lack of a better word). Because if the US, considering everything it has done, should be cut some slack, then you should also cut Russia/China/Iran/North Korea/Saudi Arabia and all the others some slack too. But you don't. What you desperately need, Kepler, is to take a good hard look at the definition of what's called "American Exceptionalism". Article excerpt that should highlight this notion to you quite clearly:

Hello! Maybe you should try the experimental version, if unblocking AirVPN pings doesn't work :].

VPN Comparison chart - real competitive analysis effort
LZ1 replied to zhang888's topic in Other VPN competitors or features
You just have to take a look at what their legal documents state and if it contradicts no-logging. In addition to their general reputation, hardware setup and so forth. -
Don't put words into my mouth please. 1 - The US barely has democracy to begin with. 2 - DT will hardly do a worse job than Hillary or the nearest equivalent. Including Obama. The difference is rather, that he's more obvious in what he does. 3 - I like democracy. But as I said in another comment, it has to be genuine. Which currently, it often isn't. Especially in the US. 4 - Maybe if it did crumble, it can be re-built and people may actually value it then, as well as derive actual value from it. As opposed to now, where democracy has been hijacked by corporations. As per number 2: Under Obama for instance, drone strikes have increased hugely. But what it really amounts to, is closer to some kind of global assasination campaign. After all, they can attack anyone they like. Now imagine if Iran was doing random drone strikes in the US and justified it with that it's simply "hunting down terrorists". How would you feel? Probably none too safe. Well that's what the US has been doing and is continuing to do. Now, I respect you, but I find it quite troubling that you appear to either refuse or be unwilling to understand the other side of events. I get that you're against Trump, as well as Hillary. But it's not enough to just act outraged when your values are stomped on - you also, in my opinion, need to understand things in more ways than one. Which I don't feel that you're doing. I'm not asking for you to be Pro-Russia or Pro-DT at all or even Anti-US or Anti-Democracy and so on. But simply that you display a more nuanced point of view . Of course, I don't control you and don't want to either, so these are my views. I just think that it gets a little repetitive being shocked/outraged at DT and, in a sense, almost exaggerating the damage he'll do. Because I struggle to see how it would be any different, if he weren't elected. Now I'm talking about democracy of course. In terms of climate change, he's the undisputed nightmare I suppose .

Hello! Thank you Staff :].

I've never heard of that concept before. Do you have a link to this actually happening? Your connection is encrypted and as long as you're not leaking things like your DNS, which you can ensure by using Network Lock especially, then there should be little to worry about in that regard.
-
Hello! I don't see the connection between faster speeds and the possibility that VPNs might not continue to mask you - could you elaborate? AirVPN already has quality hardware and solid speeds on its own.
