I'm having this problem on Linux Mint. It seems to have started after I upgraded from Mint 17.2 to 17.3 via the Mint Update Manager I use the latest Eddie, use the dns set to the automatic or rename method, and network lock set to automatic. I disconnect, log out, then turn off the network lock and exit correctly. Then I have no internet unless I go back and use Air and Eddie. My problem is that I don't know how to fix it - I haven't learnt this part of linux yet. Yestereday it somehow fixed itself after I booted another os and then returned to Mint - I don't know how or why. Has anyone got any instructions on how I can fix? Thanks for reading 64 bit Linux Mint Cinnamon 17.3 which is based on Ubuntu 14.04 Edit: I've tried resetting the dns settings in my Network Settings app in the bottom panel but that doesn't fix it.

Down under in Aussie land, using Netherlands server I am getting 5 Mbit/s, am using a good router, but its not been tweaked for speed so I can't comment on router settings.

I know this topic is old but in case anyone is reading this and having problems starting Eddie: I use Mint and often used to have problems starting Eddie. I found that deleting (or moving) the air log files and trying again always worked for me. This is always the first thing I do if I am having troubles with Eddie. I don't know if there is any downside to doing this; I haven't discovered any but then I am no expert.

On Mint 17 and 17.1 this used to happen to me also. When I changed to Eddie portable it stopped happening. I'm using Mint 17.2 now but I'm not up to date with how the latest Eddies are working as I haven't tried them properly yet (I am still using an older portable Eddie).

Air, I'm sorry to take so long to report back. I did as you instructed and started the installed version of the client via command line and it started up, accepted the terms, it ran fine, I loaded a website, checked ipleak, logged out, exited etc. So it ran ok and will also start from the desktop link. However I'm not sure whether to keep using it because I still get those GDI image rendering errors which in previous versions used to make it crash: ! 2015.01.08 02:06:06 - Logout ... ! 2015.01.08 02:06:06 - Logged out. ! 2015.01.08 02:06:09 - Exiting F 2015.01.08 02:06:10 - Unexpected error. Hello Air Just to let you know that I installed 2.8 RC3 .deb Debian/Ubuntu Package (with correct hashes) on two systems: Linux Mint 17, (Qiana) Cinnamon Ver 2.2.16, 64 bit, Linux Kernal 3.13.0-24 generic Linux Mint 17.1, (Rebecca) Cinnamon Ver 2.4.5, 64 bit, Linux Kernal 3.13.0-37 generic On both: It installed ok, but when I start the client window its appearance is distorted and it doesn't function. It doesn't get as far as appearing in the active processes window in the System Monitor so I use sudo xkill and the cursor to close it. Tried a few times, same result. I haven't tried the portable versions yet. I wasn't sure whether to use the "(mono required)" version or plain version. Or try both? Hope this helps (I use 2.7 portable on those systems for normal use)

I've been searching for info on the errors from my log files and find that Duckduckgo always returns relevent results when both Ixquick and Startpage will often return none or few Just in case this helps someone one day

Hi Hi, sorry I was short on time. and thanks for the rapid response Ok I downloaded the new 64 bit .rpm file. Installed it using SUSE's 1 click install and everything seemed fine, the installer asked for root privaliges and no errors where reported. so good so far. The Airvpn Icon is installed in the app overview however when I click on it instead of Air asking for root privaliges and starting up nothing happens. I tried this before and after uninstalling the previous version and before and after reboots. Any more info I can provide please ask. Thanks as always. As stated previous I'm running OpenSUSE 13.2 RC and Gnome 3.14. Edit: I can run the portable version. ------------------------------------------------- (sorry I lost the quote formatting for the above message by snaggle - don't know how to get it back) Hi I run Linux Mint and was occasionally having this problem with Eddie 2.6. To fix it I had to delete the .airvpn directory that was in my home directory. I had to do this before re-installing Eddie otherwise Air wouldn't start. In fact I had to often do this, and not just after re-installation, because many times Air wouldn't start and nothing would happen whichever way I tried to start it. This was the only way to fix it. To delete the directory and its contents I typed the following command in the terminal: sudo rm -rf .airvpn (followed by user password when prompted for it) Air always re-creates this directory the next time Air starts, so no problems are caused by deleting it. However the network lock and other settings needed to be redone in the Air client window. EDIT: I am having the same thing happen in Eddie 2.7 It seems to only happen if I have enabled logging in the advanced setings. So before I start Air I delete the .airvpn/logs folder (or just the log files that are in it), this way my settings are kept and Air will start (it will recreate the logs folder if you enabled logging) (sudo rm -r .airvpn/logs EDIT 2: The last lines of those log files always contain error notes EDIT 3: Sometimes I was loosing the Airvpn graphical client window from both the desktop and the bottom panel. When this happened Air was still running fine but I had no visual way to confirm this except by dnsleak.net or going to this air site and checking the bottom of the page (more capable users would probably have other methods of checking). Something to do with mono causes this. Instead I now use the portable Eddie and have no problems except for occasionally have to delete the last log file before Eddie will start. Seems to be working fine in Linux Mint 17. However I am new to linux and haven't done any extensive checking. All I know is that the other night I kept loosing my connection to Air for some reason (caused at my end I think) and the network lock kept me offline each time. Thank you Air!

Hi - I've installed openvpn and then Eddie with the Synaptic Package Manager. All went well with no troubles and can connect using Eddie. However I can't find where the preferences for Eddie are. If I right click on the Airvpn icon there is no listing for 'Preferences'. I can't figure out where else to look. I have tried restarting the OS - that didn't help. I have searched forum topics and elsewhere. (I just noticed there is also a Gdebi Package Installer, I'm not sure if I should have used this instead) Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated - but please keep in mind that I only moved to Linux this week so I'm still learning.
