Netflix Blocking AirVPN
go558a83nk replied to Soupcan Sam Hootkins's topic in Blocked websites warning
Some time ago Air did list Netflix as one of the services they could make work via their micro-routing, etc. But, when Netflix started to block VPNs a year or so ago Air removed Netflix from the "supported" list. I was thinking there may be some old "advertisement" that tittiger saw but isn't valid anymore. -
Netflix Blocking AirVPN

so, actually, an AES-NI CPU is used by openvpn/openssl automatically. In fact, many people find better performance completely disabling hardware crypto support in the advanced settings of pfsense. Sounds crazy, but I tested it on my AMD CPU and performance is increased. again, try selecting "none" in system>advanced>miscellaneous>cryptographic hardware. Also select "none" for hardware crypto in the openvpn client setup. Then reboot. However, your speeds are so diminished as compared to Eddie that I suspect something else needs to be fixed first.

LOL. I'm sure you're joking. Audrey was obviously removed as a user for spam, with posts deleted. And I'm glad for it.

Wrong thread for this question. Also, you can search the web for what's possible with that router just the same as anybody else.

openVPN Router policy rules - Android smart phone
go558a83nk replied to black bird's topic in Troubleshooting and Problems
I assume you're using Merlin firmware if you have policy routing. First thing is to try just rebooting if your sure your policy rules are good. If that doesn't work try turning off hardware acceleration (CTF + FA). That did the trick for me when I used Asus in the past. -
Old thread but since I use comcast I might as well say that TCP and even SSL have always been slow for me with comcast from this location. UDP is the way to go for me.

TCP 443 is not the same as SSL 443. And openvpn always uses openssl, except when it doesn't (e.g. polarssl).

Routing Traffic Outside of the VPN via PFsense
go558a83nk replied to rdevone's topic in Troubleshooting and Problems
How to do this has been discussed in other threads quite recently. Namely, the actual pfsense guide thread. -
The north american configuration file will connect you to the least busy server in north america at the time you connect. It can't take anything else into account because it doesn't know your location or your latency to VPN servers.

Server scoring - USA are all 0 stars

Failed at editing routes. Have you tried simply rebooting?

even with network lock on there is still an option to keep the local network available. look in the settings.

Five new 1 Gbit/s servers available (US)

You must like that datacenter as you kept adding servers. I saw two new ones, then two more. Scorpius was added just since yesterday morning (my time). -
How do you mean control core affinity ? With eddie client i get much higher ... What cam i do to increase the speed affinity is basically what core of the CPU a process is allowed to run on. I'm thinking maybe your router is running the openvpn process on a core that's already busy with kernel work. SSH into the router, look at the processes using top. You'll see what core they're using. If dd-wrt has more than one openvpn client "slot", try the next slot to see if that changes the affinity of the openvpn process and allows greater speed. Lastly you can try http://xmodulo.com/run-program-process-specific-cpu-cores-linux.html to change affinity manually. Hopefully taskset is already installed.

glad it's working. Yes, Eddie is the name of the client that AirVPN makes. -

Have you rebooted and then tried to run Eddie? When it runs you'll be able to remove the iptables it's set in place for the network lock. -
Yeah, it should be faster than that. Do you get faster speeds from the same server with a PC with Eddie (for example)? What things have you tried to increase speed? How does dd-wrt control core affinity of the openvpn process?
