The current stable version is 2.18.9. Some people occasionally report that it's not running well after upgrading on Windows 10, so before you really do it, download the portable edition and try to run it, maybe copy the AirVPN settings file to the directory the portable is in, if you want to test with your settings. If you don't have any problems, you can safely install the new version over the old.

As you already indicated, the subject matter is not exactly easy to understand. I tried to for several hours to figure out what I could do myself before changing anything, then chose to ask for help. But like most users in this world of instant-gratification, I couldn't wait too long before at least trying some stuff that I could easily revert. Did I have link-mtu in there at some point after opening this thread? Yup. Got a warning. Didn't fix the issue. So I removed it. One change at a time. Still hoping somebody can provide a functional work-around. Even if the new router/modem fixes all, it bugs the heck out of me I wasn't able to fix this. That said, "there is no way to fix this without entering identical settings server-side" is also an answer. As long as it is correct and there truly is no solution.

@CRC89 Hello! Alternatively, you can wait for a real daemon for Linux. We currently do not offer it but the gap will be filled very soon: a daemon based on Hummingbird is in advanced stage of development and we will release a public alpha version with a CLI client to drive it in the very near future. Kind regards
