ANSWERED Cannot resolve host address: earth.airvpn.org

Recommended Posts

I can't connect to earth. Is this a known issue? I can connect to any of the other servers without problems.

Hello!

It should not depend on us.

A temporary error occurred on an authoritative name server

Can you please try again now? If the problem persists use a configuration for a single server or a different area.

Kind regards

I have no problems connecting to an area (europe, asia, america) or a single server, but not earth. I have tried several times over the past 2 hours and still the same temporary error message. Maybe it will resolve in a few days, for now I am happy to connect to europe.

Hello!

We'll investigate. At the moment we are unable to detect any problem with the authoritative DNS for airvpn.org, and actually earth.airvpn.org resolves correctly to all IP addresses with every public DNS server we have tested. What happens if you use OpenNIC DNS http://www.opennicproject.org/ ? Does the problem persist?

Kind regards

This problem is resolved. I think my ISPs name server was to blame and from now on I will use OpenNIC. Thanks for the suggestion.

One question: when I use the areas (earth/europe/america) as endpoints, and I connect/disconnect/connect/disconnect, I always get the same IP address each time I reconnect in the same area. Why does this happen? Because I thought that a random server in the area would be chosen for me each time I connect. This is my config:

client
dev tun
proto udp

remote earth.airvpn.org 443
#remote asia.airvpn.org 443
#remote america.airvpn.org 443
#remote europe.airvpn.org 443

resolv-retry infinite
nobind
ns-cert-type server
cipher AES-256-CBC
comp-lzo
verb 3
explicit-exit-notify 5
ca "ca.crt"
cert "user.crt"
key "user.key"

Having a similar issue, except I get the error with both "Earth" and "Europe" no matter what DNS addresses I use. It occurred before with just Earth and my ISP's DNS and resolved itself within a few hours, but when it occurred again today I thought I'd try the workarounds discussed and nothing changes.

@DemonsRuns

You mean that you get:

RESOLVE: Cannot resolve host address: europe.vpn.airdns.org

regardless of the DNS server you query?

Can you please give us the list of such DNS servers? We have checked a few minutes ago that the domain name is correctly resolved on every public DNS (except OpenDNS, as usual) we have tested.

Kind regards
