ANSWERED Input string was not in a correct format

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am on Windows 8 and as of today unable to connect over the airvpn. I looked up where the situation was solved by deleting the xml file.

I tried this, but am unable to resolve the issue on my machine. It does not generate a new xml file, but gives the same as before.

In addition to this I am unable to connect to the links/applications under the context click of AirVPN icon in the Notification Area (when AirVPN is active). This issue has always been there even while I can connect properly.

Any ideas how I could fix the issue/s?

Deleting the .xml file does not resolve the issue. it does not generate any new file.

regards.

Hello,

please use OpenVPN directly, OpenVPN GUI or any other OpenVPN wrapper while we investigate the issue. The files for those can be generated in "Client Area"->"Config generator".

Kind regards

Hi Staff,

I managed to restore the connection. I tried to use the direct method, but found it rather more complicated and it did not work, probably at my inability to make proper settings. I generated the keys, but there are no instructions what to do with these!

So I simply extracted the AirVPN from original zip file and replaced the faulty one I was using and it connected as it should without throwing up a tantrum about incorrect format. You may therefore include this in your instructions when some else has the same problem.

However, there is one other issue I wanted to discuss with you, but I will post it as my next request for your advice.

Thank you for your kind support and may mark this as resolved.

Hello,

just in case you'll need it in the future, you have to copy all the files and paste them in the OpenVPN configuration directory. At the subsequent OpenVPN GUI run they will show up as available connections when you right-click on the OpenVPN GUI dock icon. Remember to run OpenVPN GUI with administrator privileges.

Kind regards
