carrier grade nat.

I have been hearing that some isps are starting to test carrier grade nat (cgn) and many applications such as online gaming p2p apps and vpn may not work. Cgn. kinda sounds like airvpn already but you are able to forward incoming ports but i'm sure a isp won't let you do that. will nat-pmp and upnp allow a user to use those applications?
