riotamus 0 Posted ... i got 18 servers from the entire world, instead of the usual several pages. the two that are close enough are 95% full, so they are dangerously close to being unavailable. is it a hiccup or a new normal? Quote Share this post Link to post
Harold99_0 1 Posted ... What happened to all the servers? A few months ago some of the NY servers vanished from my list. So I started using Canadian servers. Now there are only 8 servers showing up in Eddie. 3 US servers and 5 Canadian servers. I haven't touched anything in Eddie. It remains exactly the same as it's always been. And I had a few London servers added to my list for the heck of it. Those are just gone all together. What happened to all the servers? 1 bienvenue92 reacted to this Quote Share this post Link to post

zeedatrup 0 Posted ... Hi Community, For some reason I am only getting access to 18 servers, I have noticed the number of available servers has been dropping off lately, today being the worst. I have lodged a support ticket but was unable to attach a screenshot of the server tab in eddie showing the limited server access. See below. Any ideas of what I may be doing wrong. cheers, zeedatrup Quote Share this post Link to post

Staff 10629 Posted ... @bilis @riotamus @Harold99_0 @sebalpatine @zeedatrup @Veep Peep Hello! A plausible explanation is that you're running an obsolete Eddie Desktop edition version. Eddie filters out servers whose connection mode is not compatible with your system setup. For example, as DCO support is completed throughout the whole infrastructure, an old Eddie version not supporting WireGuard and running an OpenVPN version 2.3.x will be unable to find a suitable server. Please upgrade your Eddie Desktop edition and report back at your convenience. If you are not running Eddie Desktop edition, please specify the software you're running. Kind regards 1 zeedatrup reacted to this Quote Share this post Link to post
stookie 4 Posted ... Same problem for me running Mac High Sierra and Air 2.21.8, which has been good enough for me. I can't upgrade my MacOS, so my question is can a later version of Air run on High Sierra? If not, this is going to cause major problems for me. Quote Share this post Link to post
panelbeater 2 Posted ... (edited) Exactly the same here, only about 18 servers and 8 countries now show, which changed suddenly! I can't use 2.24.6 on my brand new Macbook running Tahoe as all the workarounds to stop it continuously connecting and disconnecting failed, so have to use 2.21.8. My IMac, which won't go higher than Catalinia is also on 2.21.8 and is showing the same problem. I have 2.24.6 on my old laptop running Sequoia and all the servers are there so it appears that any version below the very latest 2.24.6 is now unable to show more than a handful of servers and countries and eventually will not be able to connect at all! So, are you saying that all older operating systems, that can't run 2.24.6, will be cut off from using your service because that's not very good news for those of us who can't afford to keep buying new computers? Hello! On macOS Tahoe you can run Eddie 2.26 (now available on all download pages as a stable release) or Hummingbird 2.1.0 (on top of any other non-AirVPN software of course, such as WireGuard, Tunnelblick etc.). Quote My IMac, which won't go higher than Catalinia is also on 2.21.8 and is showing the same problem. On macOS Catalina you can run Eddie 2.24.6, Hummingbird 2.1.0, Tunnelblick etc. We will verify with developers compatibility between Eddie 2.26 and Catalina and will let you know. Quote all older operating systems, that can't run 2.24.6, will be cut off from using your service Obviously not. At present, any system capable of running WireGuard, AmneziaWG 0.2.15, or OpenVPN 2.4 and later can connect to our service as usual. The most significant change following the deployment of DCO across our infrastructure is the discontinuation of support for OpenVPN 2.3 and earlier versions. Considering that OpenVPN 2.3 was released in 2013 and OpenVPN 2.4 in 2017, AirVPN’s continued support for such long-standing version demonstrates its strong commitment to backward compatibility - provided that maintaining compatibility does not compromise security or hinder the proper evolution of the service. stookie 4 Posted ... Thank you for that reply, but my query was about Mac High Sierra — can you tell me if I can run Eddie 2.24.6 using that version of Mac OS? I don't want to completely mess up my connection if it's not possible. Quote Share this post Link to post

If your Mac is Intel based you can run Hummingbird 2.1.0 (Hummingbird is optimized for Apple Silicon Mx too, but with this CPU Hummingbird requires Mojave or higher versions). Alternatively, you can consider OpenVPN Connect, or Tunnelblick 3.8.8g, but this Tunnelblick version contains serious vulnerabilities: https://www.tunnelblick.net/downloadsDeprecated.html Kind regards Quote Share this post Link to post
breathein 0 Posted ... This happened to me today. I went from the usual list of servers to 17. Here's what fixed it: 1. Update to latest version of Eddie 2. It refused to connect as it said There is no available or enabled Network Lock mode, sorry. So I went to preferences and changed network lock settings from 'none' to auto. It still didn't work... 3. Quit Eddie and reopened it and... It seems to be working again. Quote Share this post Link to post

Yeah, that fixed me. All the servers are back. I couldn't connect through WireGuard though. I had to use openVPN. As long as that provides me the same protection though I'm fine. The privacy protection offered by OpenVPN, anyway, is slightly higher than that offered by WireGuard. Furthermore there is no WireGuard kernel module for macOS so the performance gain you have on other systems from saving kernel space↔userspace crossing and packet-buffer movements is lost.
