Hello!

Can you please send us, just after your system has connected to the VPN, your client connection logs and the output of the commands (issued from a command prompt):

ping 10.4.0.1

tracert google.com

tracert 8.8.8.8

Kind regards

its the dns for sure...just had an update windows 7 sp 1...strange thing is...would not connect after update with either comodo dns or your address 10.4.0.1...then after a little time i entered comodo dns again...same address and it now works...i should not have to enter dns address before every connection if i've chosen the dns..

its the dns for sure...just had an update windows 7 sp 1...strange thing is...would not connect after update with either comodo dns or your address 10.4.0.1...then after a little time i entered comodo dns again...same address and it now works...i should not have to enter dns address before every connection if i've chosen the dns..

Hello!

No problems at all are showed by all the data you sent us.

Try to set 10.4.0.1 as primary (preferred) DNS IP address in your physical network card. Leave the secondary (alternate) DNS IP to your favorite DNS in order to allow names resolution when disconnected from the VPN.

Kind regards

set primary as 10.4.0.1 and still won't work with udp connection...just tcp..is it a security risk not being able to use udp connections?? if not vpn still works on tcp, but still don't know why my client doesnt work with udp.....

Hello!

A possible cause might be a packet filtering program in your system that wrongly identifies the UDP traffic flow from our VPN servers as an UDP attack. When you connect to an UDP port, your system receives exclusively UDP packets on your physical network card, regardless of the underlying "real" packet header which is still encrypted when arrives to your system physical network card. If you receive a lot of traffic, some misconfigured or excessively prudent packet filtering program might think of it as an UDP flood and start dropping packets.

Kind regards

hi...reformatted pc...fresh install...windows 7.. first program installed after anti virus was air vpn.. (apart from windows update)...but i check with various sites that stated that udp ports...443,80,53 were closed.. used cmd prompt netstat...no udp ports listening... so unless windows update has somehow blocked udp...now udp ports are closed when i check without air client running..i want to fix udp issues as various forums state that dns over tcp is not as secure as udp..do you know how to open udp ports on windows 7??

Hello!

You don't need to open any inbound port on your system to access our service (why did you think so...?). On the contrary it may be good that those ports are closed. Can you please try with both your firewall and antivirus disabled? Can you please send us your client logs?

Kind regards

now i've been looking at the log..and there is a slight difference from when i connect with udp and tcp...with tcp connection it says (attempting to establish tcp connection with etc etc)...and (tcp connection established with etc etc) but with udp part of log...it never says attempting connection, or established connection.. its just after Socket Buffers: R=[8192->8192] S=[8192->8192]...

Hello!

The logs you posted are just fine, they show a fully successful connection to port 53 UDP and a fully successful connection to port 53 TCP of some server of ours. Considering all the information you gave us and assuming that you're 100% sure that nothing in your system prevents UDP packets to go to outbound port 443, chances are that your ISP is dropping packets to outbound port 443 UDP in which case you can continue connecting to port 53 UDP.

Kind regards

no i can't...all connections using udp, ports 443,80,53 connect with air vpn but cant browse internet while connected to these ports! port 443tcp works...port 80 tcp works...port 53 tcp works...but anything with udp does not...

Hello!

So the problem is not on your ISP side, but in your system (please note however that to speak correctly, there are no such things as UDP connections, UDP is connectionless, so don't be fooled, just in case...).

In order to locate the "culprit" try to monitor your network activities and progressively deactivate any possible interfering program, starting from firewall, "security" tools, antivirus, packet filtering programs of any kind.

Kind regards

Thanks for all your help...but i found the problem...it was the router that wasn't allowing udp connections to leave the network...although the nat firewall on router was configured to allow all outgoing connections it was blocking all udp.....so UDP is now working...many thanks for your assistance..

the reason my router was blocking udp was because of a hydra attack on my router... when browsing internet i got a webpage with hydra on it... now im experiencing slow browsing and have a page from google stating unusual traffic...and i'm having to fill in captcha form...every time i try to go to and other page on internet..has my network been hacked again? i'm now using comodo firewall but on network detection page, when i click on home network (192.168.1.137/24 it doesn't do anything...
