ANSWERED Port forwarding with glass fiber

hello,
non-tech savvy person here, so sorry if that's a stupid question.
i have the possibility to get a fiber connection within the next few months. now i'ver read from people who had to stop torrenting because their fiber connection did not support port forwarding (something to do with ipv4 if i remember correctly).
now, do i assume correctly that this wouldn't affect a vpn connection because the port forwarding happens on the vpn server instead of my router, so port forwarding would still be possible with airvpn on a fiber connection?
