Are DDOS attacks allowed?

Recommended Posts

for the third day I've been flooded with UDP from 185.104.184.43
It turns out that if I want to hack game servers of other hostings, this VPN is a good choice?

No, they are strictly forbidden, as you might already know from the ToS. Instead of opening an account to complain on community forums, which is useless if we miss the message, please contact abuse@airvpn.org and provide evidence and any information relevant to enable the department to end the abuse. Do not forget to include the targeted IP address or addresses.

Kind regards

Seems like that IP is from Germany. FYI it is completely legal to do DOS (Denial Of Service) and (DDOS) attacks, it's considers a valid form of protest last I herd. So no I wouldn't Say AirVPN is a good choice to "hack game servers" it seems like your are not being attacked like a DDOS (Distributed Denial of Service) but DOS singular server. I get better connection speeds by not using VPN that would do more damage, regardless. All you need to do is get a firewall and block the ip 185.104.184.43 or better yet get a opensource firewall like PFSense and block the whole country of Germany to be safe. or even change your MAC address on your modem and your provider will issue up a new IP.

Hello!

You must always check your facts, before posting publicly on important matters. As far as we can see, according to web searches and AI answers:

Quote

DDoS attacks are illegal in Germany. Under Section 303b of the German Criminal Code, also known as "computer sabotage," anyone who interferes with data-processing operations that are of substantial importance to another by deleting, suppressing, rendering unusable, or altering data, or by entering or transmitting data with the intention of causing damage to another, can be liable to imprisonment for up to three years or a fine. If the data-processing operation is of substantial importance for another’s business or enterprise, or a public authority, the penalty can be imprisonment for up to five years or a fine.

In addition, the German police have taken action against DDoS-for-hire services, such as the seizure of the DDoS site Dstat.cc and the arrest of two suspects in Germany, who faced charges under Section 127 of the German Criminal Code, which incurs punishments of up to ten years in prison (maximum) and monetary fines.

Furthermore, the legal framework in Germany aligns with broader European regulations, such as the EU Directive on Attacks Against Information Systems (2013/40/EU), which mandates that member states criminalize the intentional disruption of information systems, including through DDoS attacks.

Therefore, DDoS attacks are unequivocally illegal in Germany, and perpetrators can face severe legal consequences, including prison sentences and financial penalties.

And of course they are forbidden by the ToS that every AirVPN user accepts.

Kind regards
