Referral code was ignored when creating account

Hello, I have created my account using a referral link, but the code was seemingly not associated with my account (or the other account). I am not sure why, I took care to use the referral link and not refresh the webpage later.
Now, I would like to extend my subscription, but referral links work only when creating an account. Can this be fixed now, i.e. set that previous referral code on my account?

In general, creating an account with the referral link could be improved significantly. Currently, I have no idea if the link was used correctly and if the account will be created with the referral. A simple solution would be to have a text field in the registration form. A referral link would just pre-fill this field with a code. Anyone could then easily verify (and fix) if a referral code is being used during that registration process.
