Using qbittorrent webui outside of network while still conected to vpn

Hey all, I'm having some trouble trying to connect to my qbitttorrent webui when connected to a vpn server using my eddie client. My goal is to have a old laptop that can stay connected to airvpn while running qbittorrent so I can use the webui and torrent to my home network. I can access the webui when outside of my home network by using my tailscale ip and the default port for the webui 8080 but as soon as I connect the machine running qbittorrent to airvpn I cant access it anymore. Any help would be appreciated.
