Out of date ejabberd version?

Hello! I recently noticed that airvpn still hosts a XMPP server which is amazing! The only thing is the ejabberd version seems quite out of date. The server is running on ejabberd 23.01-1 while the newest version is 24.12. Will the server be ever updated? Also will there ever be support for HTTP file upload? That seems like a pretty basic and pretty needed feature.
