Since update to 2.24.6 after waking from Standby: Checking route IPv4 failed, last reason: Fetch url error:Timeout was reached

Recommended Posts

Operating system: CachyOS (Archlinux), KDE
Eddie version: eddie-ui 2.24.6-1 installed via YAY from the AUR.
Used Protocol: OpenVPN, UDP, Port 443
OpenVPN Directives: unchanged (except: ping restart 15)
Previous Eddie version: eddie-ui 2.21.8-1

First of all, hello! :)

I also had the problem with the previous version, that Eddie "kept on sleeping" for about a minute after system waking up from standby. The eddie-tray-symbol was blue, so it looked as if Eddie was connected. Then after a minute Eddie noticed, that this was not the case and performed a disconnect and then connect again.
Changing the OpenVPN directive ping restart from 60 to 15 also made no difference. Strangely, Eddie/Logs still says "OpenVPN > Timers: ping 10, ping-restart 60"
(I can also copy everything that is in the log here, but I didn't want to overload my first post with that.)

This problem still occurs occasionally in the new version.
Most of the time (starting system after standby), however, the Eddie symbol turns grey and Eddie displays the "Connect" popup. If you then call up the context menu, it says "Checking route IPV4". It stays like that for about a minute, then Eddie changes the status to "Disconnect" and then "Connect", which then works.

In total - I stopped it once - you can sit in front of the PC twiddling your thumbs for about 1 minute 16 seconds until the connection is finally established after waking up from standby.
You can also cancel the "Checking route IPV4" process manually, but that takes about 30 seconds and then you have to click Connect. So it's not much faster overall.

What I have already tried:
First I ran Eddie 2.24.6 with the same configuration (~.config/eddie) from the previous version.
Then I deleted the ~.config/eddie folder and set up Eddie again.
Uninstalling Eddie, deleting the folder again and then reinstalling it didn't make any difference.

I would just like to keep the openVPN -> UDP protocol as it is!

What I could think of at the moment would be to downgrade back to the old version, but that's not a long-term solution either.

I have attached a log file. I activated Log Debug (for troubleshooting) in the settings, then put the PC into standby and started it again some time later.

Looks like a screenshot from Windows?
But I have Linux.
Apart from that, I only use Ethernet/wired network.

And the error only occurs now with the new Eddie version, without me having changed anything else on the system.
Well, apart from the constant system updates... but I have now downgraded to version 2.21... and the error does not occur there.

But as I said, that is not a long-term solution!

I have just looked in a VM in which I have installed a Manjaro, there is the same problem with the new version.
