Jotta009 3 Posted ... The eddie client is just shit. Clunky. Slow. Unreliable. <Ad deleted by Staff - forbidden ads> Sometimes it hangs under Linux/Ubuntu. Good luck killing it. pkill -9 or -15 eddie* will not shut dont the tray process, the tray eddie will immediately reappear. Today I tried the pkill command instantely several times. Managed to kill it somehow but now I get "an instance of eddie is still running". Once eddie hangs, there is no option except rebooting the system. You have no idea how much I hate eddie. 3 blank90, knighthawk and usefulvid reacted to this Quote Share this post Link to post

usefulvid 19 Posted ... The Windows stable version is from 2022. This version did not work on my device. It stuck on checking ipv4 route forever. Had to kill it and then reset my network connections manually. Painful. I know how to use the experimental one but then I am unable to use package managers like winget. I think airvpn should release a stable version which is more up to date. 1 knighthawk reacted to this Quote Share this post Link to post
Jotta009 3 Posted ... I use an Ubuntu Version of Linux. That an application never honors a SU kill -9 is odd. Quote Share this post Link to post

iwih2gk 94 Posted ... I happen to really like the Eddie client for all my linux computers. It ALWAYS keeps my machines inside of tun0 and my family users have no issues running the client. They learn quickly because I set up NFT tables that keep all machines offline until Eddie is up are running. Since they enjoy going online they have a strong interest in learning how Eddie works. Easy stuff by the way. The client is so customizable for setting up preferred and list limited server selections. Child's play. Quote Share this post Link to post
