"Sorry, an error occur during loading options."

Recommended Posts

The last couple of days, whenever I launch the AirVPN client (Windows 7 x64), I get the error message "Sorry, an error occur during loading options. Options reverted to default."

It then requires me to agree to the user agreement again, re-enter my username and password, etc.

After that, it I try to enter the AirVPN Preferences, I get a message generated by Microsoft .NET Framework, "Unhandled exception has occurred in your application," with the details shown below.

What do I need to do to get the AirVPN client working properly again?

have you ran your system updates? I notice the other day there was a netframework update, and what about "un-install" and then re-install of the client?

I have .NET Framework 4 installed.

However, I believe I discovered the source of the problem: AirVPN.xml. I found this file in the folder with AirVPN.exe. I assume AirVPN.xml is where the settings are stored. I deleted it, then restarted AirVPN.exe. After the initial need to make the settings, AirVPN.exe now seems to work OK on subsequent launches.

So I guess my AirVPN.xml was corrupted, although I'm not sure how or why that would happen. In any case, I'll post here again if the problem reappears.
