Didn't really work in Yemen (Houthi controlled)

I spent three months in Houthi controlled Yemen at the end of 2023. AirVPN didn't really work. The internet there is highly surveilled.  Whenever I connected I would be immediately throttled, to the point the VPN would be thrown offline. This was on both a Windows based laptop and android phone, as well as wifi and mobile.

I tried different combinations, TCP and UDP. Wireguard and OpenVPN. Different ports and TLS mode.  Always used Eddie.

I have used AirVPN for more than 5 years and generally been satisfied.

AirVPN doesn't easily explain which settings combination I should use for high surveillance countries. I would like to know the optimum settings for such. I travel to several.

The Opera browser freevpn did seem to work but I don't trust it.

You did what you could.  But if you used the "SSL" option, which uses stunnel and openvpn, and that didn't work, then I guess Yemen was throttling all https connections with destination outside Yemen?
