dshbfjdsaauj 0 Posted ... Hi, i have been using your service for years, and computers for 40 now this year. This is not a dealbreaker for me, but i indicated it as such because for I cannot recommend airvpn this way to any client because Eddie in some cases does not change the Windows DNS settings back to Automatic, causing the network connection to look fine, but it cannot find any server through DNS because the values are still manually set to 10.x.x.x and another 10.x.x.x from having used Eddie-UI. For a non power-user that is a dealbreaker. It can confuse me at times still, althought i know now to quickly check if DNS settings are still set to above values. Otherwise love the service, here to stay, but really think that that is the current only issue i find problematic with actually advising AirVPN. I might also be missing something that I haven't thought of, but it seems to be a standard behavior that perhaps occurs after a crash reboot, or otherwise. I haven't looked into it, but I am sure somebody that knows the codebase knows what the problem may be, kind regards, Friso Quote Share this post Link to post
Staff 10014 Posted ... @dshbfjdsaauj Hello! Eddie keeps a safety backup of the system settings (firewall and DNS) it modifies. If Eddie can't restore the DNS settings because of a crash or of a kill without grace, at the next run Eddie will realize it is in a "dirty" state and will rely on the safety backup files to restore the settings at the next clean shutdown. Therefore running Eddie and shutting it down properly should solve the issue with no need of additional manual fix. Of course if a crash occurs the crash itself should be investigated in the first place, please feel free to describe the problem more thoroughly. Kind regards Quote Share this post Link to post
