RYFA 1 Posted ... Not the best title but I'll explain.. So on some servers in the IPLeak.net DNS test there are two servers detected instead of one like normal one is the IPV4 address the other the IPV6 both for the server I'm connected to like this.. This only happens on some servers not all so I assume this is either a bug on the website or something is different about some of the servers. Did they change something? This second screenshot is what tests normally look like.. As shown in the second screenshot normally tests only show one server detected. Why are some servers different now? The first screenshot is from the server Hyadum and the second is from the server Alterf. Also I'm using firefox as my browser if that matters at all. Thanks for your help. OpenSourcerer 1441 Posted ... Sometimes IPv4 answers quicker, sometimes IPv6. Sometimes only one of them. Since both addresses are the servers themselves, there is nothing to worry about. Stalinium 47 Posted ... Windows 10 name resolver races for the fastest DNS response since an update years ago. It's possible the first time the IPv4 query was faster as OpenSourcerer said and after a retry the IPv6 pathway was used and detected. It should be expected for one IPv4 and one IPv6 to show up in an increasing number of configurations (on your end and beyond your network) as more and more networks become IPv6-capable and work according to the dual-stack approach. DS means both v4 and v6 are first-class citizens, however they ought to be treated as separate networks in everything. If you are on Firefox... not sure, see the above reply, it's still true. Nothing to worry about. Quote Share this post Link to post
