Eddie (windows client) can auto update? Do we receive an alert when there is a new version?

Not sure about auto-update on Windows, but I know that a update notification can appear below the version number when an update is available on your chosen update channel (Settings -> Advanced -> Update channel (Stable | Beta | None))
