Why does a new install of Eddie remember my prior install settings no matter what I do?

Steps taken:
Uncheck all "remember me" and password protection boxes in Eddie
Delete Eddie install using both Eddie's uninstaller and a third party uninstaller to detect any remaining files
Download Eddie installer (while not using a VPN tunnel, nor while logged into AirVPN)
Install Eddie
See that all of my preference settings have carried across installs, and before I log in to Eddie for the first time.

I've reproduced this process at least four times, to try and fail to troubleshoot.

With any other program with which I am familiar, these steps would 100% prevent any ability for a program to remember my settings across installs. Especially before logging in for the first time. If prior settings only showed after logging in, i would suspect that Eddie is pulling them from non-local storage on AirVPN's server. But that isn't the case. How is Eddie doing this? Thank you.

Like many other well behaving programs, Eddie stores a configuration file in the home directory of the user(s) who launched it. Please see also:
