Seedy 0 Posted ... I am spending some time at a health care astablishment as staff. When I connected to their WiFi last night I found I was unable to view any catchup TV service due to a firewall block they had put in place. I then tried to run AirVPN which returned the same result so have now, from a different location, added the Netherlands frontend IP address to my hosts file, as discussed in another thread, to try and gain access tomorrow. If I should still experience an issue, can you suggest any other ways I can hopefully cirumvent the firewall block please, since I think I'm correct in saying that AirVPN has only two frontend IP addresses? Thank you in advance. Quote Share this post Link to post

Adding a frontend is a very quick matter, so we can add them according to needs. Please also consider that even if access to all frontends were blocked from your place, you can anyway access the VPN servers via OpenVPN (i.e. you can't use the Air client, which needs access to airvpn.org - this will change in future client versions). You will need to take with you the configurations, certificates and key generated by our configuration generator when you are in a place where you can access one of the frontends. For particular circumvention needs please do not hesitate to contact us in private.Kind regards Quote Share this post Link to post
Seedy 0 Posted ... Being an VPN newbie I wasn't aware of that so have just worked out how to use OpnVPN with config files generated in the members area - although with limited success. I have had to change my firewall settings and often receive the 'AUTH_FAILED' message in the log window but it does connect eventually. I think I'll ditch my current firewall (TinyWall) in favour of Comodo though as it does seem to be more suited to using VPN's. Thank you for your reply and help. Quote Share this post Link to post
maltasan 1 Posted ... Hi admin, I'm sorry these are opportunistic questions, but the phrase "catchup TV service" inspired me to ask them. Firstly, could AirVPN access TVCatchup (from outside UK)? TVCatchup is notorious for its blanket ban on VPN (http://www.how-to-hide-ip.info/2010/03/13/tvcatchup-blocks-all-vpn-services/). Also, if one of your clients' favorite sites, not only major ones like Hulu but also small ones, blocks all AirVPN servers, will you get a new server which is unblocked? If the answer to both questions is “yes”, it will interest me in subscribing to this paid VPN service more than ever. - malta Quote Share this post Link to post
Seedy 0 Posted ... @admin I'm currently using OpenVPN (not the AirVPN client) from the other location mentioned above and can confirm all is working well, so thank you. @maltasan, I can confirm TVCatchup is working perfectly (OpenVPN) despite what you may have read elsehwere.
