Is Paypal not working?

I tried to extend my AirVPN subscription through Paypal.  I used the Brave Browser and after clicking 'pay' on the payment window, the window disappeared and then... nothing.
I checked in my Paypal account and it said it was pending as per the window below.  However it looks like nothing has happened as my AirVPN subscription still hasn't been extended yet.

I have set a support ticket in AirVPN but no reply yet.  Has anyone else overcome this issue?
 

Pending $xxxx xxx payment

On 18 May 2022, you authorized a payment of $xxxx on your card xx-xxxx. If the payment is voided for any reason, the pending amount won’t be charged. It may take a few days for this to show on your card statement.

I tried Brave and Safari and had no joy.  I'm surprised as Brave usually works for everything that is not Safari friendly.
I will try Firefox and see if that makes a difference.  Actually I didn't even know that Edge had a Mac version until just now so I could try that too..

Well I can report that Firefox DOES work for Paypal.  Huzzah!
I spent hours trying to figure out how to do a 'mixed' Bitcoin payment before giving up.

It was so weird because (as I said earlier) that Paypal had the payment as 'pending' which I thought meant it was waiting for somebody on the AirVPN side to do something.
