Network connection issues

I have two desktop computers connected through a single modem/router through Ethernet. Also a number of devices connected on WiFi.
When I connect through AirVPN on one workstation, the other one and all other devices lose internet connections, including WiFi.
I recently got a new modem (TP-Link AC-2100). I never had this problem with my old AC-750. Running Windows 10 on both machines.
What am I missing?
