DNS Server Adress

Recommended Posts

Hi all,
under airvnp I tried to find our if my browser's leaking DNS requests and ran networkmanager's resolv.conf on my linux host. It gave me this:
search home
nameserver 192.168.2.1 ## recognized as my ISP router
nameserver 207.164.234.193 ## recognized as my ISP provider
nameserver 10.9.32.1 ## ?? does anybody have ideas where this comes from?? on ip-api.com it says a private range... how do i get rid of my ISP dns servers and make sure it goes through airvp?

BTW when the linux host connected thorough eth0 the ipleak.net shows exit node is NOT airVPN (but my ISP)  and tons of DNS servers (presumably from my ISP relays), while on wlan0 it shows airVPN as an exit and only one airVPN DNS address (resolv.config shows the same three dresses from above). Any ideas why is that happening and how to fix it?

thank you very much!

10.9.32.1 looks like an AirVPN DNS address, so that's cool.

NetworkManager manages this file itself and overrides it sporadically. The best method I've found for desktop setups is to create a separate NetworkManager profile with AirVPN DNS servers 10.4.0.1 / fde6:7a:7d20:4::1 configured exclusively for DNS and connecting using IP addresses. There are other methods, though.

I'm not an OS, and you're welcome. If it's not too much trouble, and if you found a solution, you could post it here for the future. :)
